Well I've gotta say I'm not a computer person and hardly knew what to do when my old, I mean really old, IBM Thinkpad finally pooped out on me. I wasn't too pleased with it to begin with. It was stupid-slow and I probably needed to get a new laptop anyway, but I wanted to see if there was any chance of salvaging it and getting the old timer up to speed. I took it into eBits on the Ave. They ran a diagnostic which was 55 bucks, told me what was wrong which was basically that it was old and slow and they'd try replacing the hard drive. They quoted this endeavor at about 250 dollars. I winced, but figured it was about time to take care of my laptop problems, so I told them to go ahead and do whatever was necessary. A few days later they informed me that with all the effort they put into trying to resuscitate my laptop, they found it would not support the new hardrive and instead set me up with a new used laptop! They said the new used laptop would probably sell for 350 dollars, but they honored the initial quote they gave me of 250, which came to about 279 after everything. The great part is that they saved all of my short stories, documents and pictures from my old timer and put it on the new one. They set me up with a Compaq Presario and I can't say enough how great this thing is and how happily surprised I was to get basically a newer computer when I thought I'd have to have my old laptop really worked over. To be honest, this is my first ever experience with any PC laptop-servicing business, so I have nothing really to compare it to and I'm not a super-computer person, but I was really impressed. I recommend them to my friends and I would definitely go back. I've found my PC place. read more

I had been to Ebits PC Laptop a couple of years ago for my PC and I was very pleased with my service there. Not only was I pleased with the repair to my PC but the customer service was wonderful. Recently, when my daughter's laptop broke I knew exactly where I was going to bring it for repair, Ebits. Their diagnostic fee was fair and applied to my repair costs. They put a lot of time into the repair and ordered several parts for the laptop, but since they were unable to fix it they never charged me a dime. I asked about a refurbished laptop and they had a Lenovo that they sold me and an extremely fair price, in fact, Jasper was so generous that he sold me the laptop at cost. The reason he did this for me is because he overheard me talking to my daughter about how I could not, as a single mom - on my budget, afford to buy her another new laptop. Since school was to start in a few days Jasper sold me a refurbished Lenovo Laptop at such a fair price I was really moved by his generosity. In fact when I went to pick it up he even knocked another 100 dollars off the laptop. Here is a business owner, Jasper, who has a heart as well as a good business sense. I never write reviews and I am sorry this is so long but. JESPER SAVED MY LIFE. I lost my phone and had to go back to a shattered iphone 3g. I continued to use it but the screen was completely crushed and I could hardly see anything. I took the phone in to get fixed for a really great price and they were speedy and had the part. It was amazing, they completely fixed the phone so it looked brand new and I didn't have to wait long at all. I paid, and thanked them and as I was on my way out, I DROPPED MY PHONE again in the wrong place and the screen cracked a little bit again. My phone has been dropped a million times before and never cracked but, I got it at the completely perfect angle and my heart dropped into my stomach. Needless to say, I was distressed beyond belief. long story short, I had been without a phone for the week before I got the shattered one and just gotten the older one fixed. I took it back in and was in hysterics. The part I appreciated beyond belief was how understanding and kind Jesper was. He showed me so much compassion that I felt like he was family. I would strongly recommend using GoEBITS for repair for a mac computer. TLDR; I took my computer to Apple first and it was a mistake. I took my computer to GoEBITS and had a great experience. I initially took my computer to Apple to fix (water damage to logic board and keyboard, whoops). I had to wait two weeks until my scheduled appointment at the U-village. Then, Apple shipped the computer to Texas for diagnosis and repair. After some tech in Texas looked at my computer, I had to call Apple to get the diagnosis/explanation of the proposed repairs. I waited on hold for ~30 minutes before I could even talk to a real human, but then that person had not even worked on my computer and could barely tell me any information about the damage. I was put off by the high estimated cost of repairs, especially given the lack of explanation, so I had Apple send back the computer un-repaired. This whole 'diagnosis' took about 6 days. A few months later, I decided I did want to fix my computer. I took my computer to GoEBITS, and they were able to make the same repair in an extremely timely and more affordable fashion. I dropped off my computer and the very next they called me and told me what was actually wrong and what it would take to fix. No time on hold. Then they fixed the computer in two business days. I'm a video artist and lots of my portfolio work lived in a LACIE external hard drive, which I forgot to backed up in the past few months. One day, I opened it up and the drive decided to not function! I could not transfer my data from to another drive or my laptop. I was so frustrated and started to try several DIY methods to recover the data. Nothing worked. At this point, I was so worried of losing 5-year worth of my work, so I contacted several companies for data recovery. That was when I realized how expensive it is. Most companies charge around 600-800 bucks for getting the data back! Then I found out that eBits (which is pretty close to my house) offers data recovery service too. After reading reviews and website, I decided to give it a try. They gave excellent customer service and always constantly updated about their progress in data recovery. Since my hard drive problem is pretty severe, they even purchased extra tools to work on my job. Finally, I got ALL of my data back (almost 1TB!). It took them forever to solve this problem, and they could have charged me a fortune. Instead, they charged me at a very reasonable price, way less expensive than most services out there. Fantastic customer service and knowledge. Their diagnostic fee goes towards the repair if you choose to pursue it (not true of every place). Very knowledgeable and explained each option/step to me, when I was trying to decide whether or not to repair an old, cosmetically damaged laptop. In the end, they were super honest and advised me against it, even though I leaned towards doing it. Instead, I opted to back it up (thank goodness I did, as the battery pack was close to dying) with GoEBits doing Time Machine for me. It was worth every penny to do it right and get their expert opinions on things. And unlike the Apple Store, much easier to schedule an appointment and get attentive service. Thank you, Jasper & co.!!!!!!!!! PS I saw several customers come in and demand diagnostics, but didn't want to leave their computers for diagnostics. Don't do that - how can you diagnose a computer without leaving it for them to diagnose? Be nice about it. Work with them and they will definitely work with you! eBits have saved my beloved once again. I should have posted a review the first time I went in and i regret doing so but their service is so GOOD and I appreciate that. My laptop crashed during an important week of school and all my assignments, projects, and files were stored on my laptop (it was my mistake for not backing it up elsewhere). I was pretty hopeless, frustrated, and annoyed considering the fact that there wasn't much time before my project was due but after a friend's recomendation I brought it into eBits. They were incredibly understanding of the time crunch and said they would try work on it as soon as they can. I hadn't expected them to get back to me so soon but they called the next day and I was just expecting a laptop to work with with no slate of previous files as I was convinced they were all deleted. EBits miraculously saved my data and I can't say how grateful I am for their efforts. COMPUTER CRASHES seem to happen at the worst time. Suddenly, you are presented with a number of urgent questions, i.e. : i) who do I take it to, ii) how soon can they look at it, iii) what is the diagnosis, iv) what will it cost to repair and v) how soon can I get it back. That was certainly true in my case. I have a contract with Dell, but the hardware warranty had expired. They recommended I take it in locally. Therefore, I contacted Best Buy, Staples, Fryes. However, I received no satisfactory answers to those questions. Next, I contacted the University of Washington Bookstore. They supports Apple products, but not laptops. They recommended I take my laptop to Ebits for quick expert service. Therefore, I did. At Ebits I got sound answers to all those questions, and my computer was repaired ahead of schedule--in exactly 1 day. And the cost was very reasonable. DANIEL worked on my computer and he is SUPERB. In sum, if you find yourself in need of computer repair or support, then I highly recommend Ebits. If my experience is any indication, taking it to them will save you a lot of time, money and frustration chasing alternative solutions. I broke my MacBook Pro screen while on a business trip back east. Trying to juggle a laptop, wireless keyboard and ipad allowed the keyboard to fly out of my hands and hit my laptop screen at the perfect angle to put a perfect "bullet hole" in it. While the local Apple store in Bellevue was booked out for a week just to make an appointment for an evaluation, I visited GoEBITS in the University District with no expectations...just hoping to get it fixed at some point. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a guy behind the counter (Jasper) who actually listened to my story. Being that my Macbook is my business computer with many deadlines coming up, I knew I couldn't check my device in, and be without it for even two days. Jasper took the time to understand this, and took care of my laptop in a very timely manner, making me extremely happy. Would highly recommend this place to everyone! Apple certified and takes very short amount of time to fix your products. I brought mine in after an unsuccessful call with Apple to fix my 2012 iMacbook Pro. I set an appointment THAT Saturday at 5 and brought it in. Since my problem was hardware related, I paid $54 as an upfront payment (the employee stated that if it was software related it would have been free). He said it would take 4-5 business days to fix because they had been getting a LOT of business - but I was fine with it since Apple would have taken probably 2-3 weeks to fix it. I got a call on MONDAY saying explaining that the problem ended up being with my HDD cable (which is a little flimsy in the old iMacbooks) - which cost $70 to replace and $150 for labor (but $54 was deducted from that $150 since I paid the upfront charge) - and that I could pick it up the next day. I got my laptop in no time with quick and easy service. Great place to go, despite the small establishment on a busy road! read more

What a lifesaver!!! These folks know their stuff and know how to be nice too!!! I had cracked my laptop screen. Due to fly to DC for presentations on Sunday, I only had a couple days to deal with this. To make matters worse, I was at sea on a vessel so could not bring laptop in till Friday. I had called another nearby store first, who basically told me I was crazy for even trying to see if I could get it fixed without them seeing it. He had to check with his management team to see if they would even talk to me further. At my last hope I called another store, and it was ebits. Jasper was fantastic !! I will freely admit that I was apprehensive about this place when I saw where it was located. That intersection right next to the Jack in the Box there used to be one of the sketchiest places in the U District (I haven't lived there in ten years, so I'm not sure these days). I assumed this would be another Highway 99 "PC Doctor" kind of place, where I was just as likely to get cheated out of money as I was to get robbed if I showed up after dark. But it turns out my biases were unfounded! Not only is GoEBITS an Apple-recommended repair center, but the staff and service there are exceptional. The trackpad and keyboard on my laptop suddenly stopped working this Tuesday. The Genius Bar in U Village couldn't book me until the following week, so I gave GoEBITS a chance. In 24 hours they had my issue diagnosed, ordered the parts, and replaced it. And for much cheaper than I expected! Their service is expedient, friendly, informative, and very reasonably priced. These guys are GREAT!!! I went to eBits PC Laptop for help after my lab top hard drive start to have problems and the one year warranty expired. Not only was Jasper able to save the data off the hard drive, but he also supplied a loner laptop while we waited for a new hard drive to be shipped in. I was in a major time crunch with a grant due for review in less then four days. Within four hours eBits had my data on a DVD and I was once again working on the grant submission, which was turned in on time. After nine months the mother board of the computer started to die. I when back to eBits and they diagnosed the problem and saved all my working files. I was so imprested with the service from eBits that I purchased a new laptop from eBits. They transferred all the data from the old hard drive to the new computer and had it running within the week. By the time I had assembled it I didn't want to spend my own energy troubleshooting so I bought it into eBits. The process of diagnosing the issue, replacing the defective part, and getting it functional took a couple weeks and much correspondence. I interacted with Kiah the most and he was responsive the entire way through the process, keeping me updated and going above and beyond for a customer issue that likely eclipses your typical broken phone screen in complexity and labor. Spent a couple of years at the end of a dirt road in Mexico with my laptop. Great in so many ways, but dirt as fine as baby powder now covers everything I carried with me, including the laptop. After returning to Seattle I had issues with the DVD drive. eBits PC Laptop was recommended to me by my sister who uses them for all their family computer assistance. The customer service is absolutely the BEST - over the phone and in the shop. I was informed and updated all along the way as they analyzed the problem and handled the repair. Wow, just terrible. 1) Mis diagnosed the problem with my computer 2) they had my computer for about 1 week! The problem: 3) Sata Drive had to be placed at a different port in order for the os to be read. For the first 3 or 4 days Jeff continued to talk about DATA RECOVERY! Are you serious? Even though # 3 was the problem they continued to tell me I needed an operating system installed. When they finally figured out that the problem was in fact # 3 (6 days later) They never gave me an option to pay for the problem and install my os at home, no THEY charged 180.00 to install os! :o When I called other/several local computer shops, (unfortunately AFTER the fact) installing os would have cost 100.00! (one such place is computer stop on 135th and Aurora ave north) To all those reading this remember you have officially been warned! read more

My Macbook Pro basically quit on me and the Apple stores were booked about 5 days out for even scheduling a diagnostic. The Apple representative gave me the info for GoEBITS, which is a trusted/certified provider for them and they were able to get me in the next day for a diagnostic. They told me it would take 4-5 days to hear back from the technician, but when I explained that this computer is for my business and I need this working for me 24/7, they put it on a rush and had everything to me and fixed within the next 48 hours. My hard drive was nuked so that was unsalvageable, however they were able to send that to a company for free who can determine the cost to retrieve my data. I can't blame them at all for not salvaging the hard drive, but they did everything they could and their prioritizing for my urgent need really helped a lot. read more

This place saved my life. After getting a fairly insane Apple quote, I called them in a panic to see what they thought. After I brought it in for a diagnostic, they gave me more reasonable price. My computer now works beautifully, and they repaired things they didnt initially quote me for (issues discovered later) free of extra charge. They were done in exactly two weeks, and were only held up by apple shipping parts. Not only was the service itself expertly done, but the customer service was amazing. They were so kind to me on the phone even when I was panicked and near tears. They answered all my questions and gave me sound advice on what my options were. Here's why the 5 stars: My hard drive crashed during a basic iTunes update. I had no time for a computer crisis, as I was going to be leaving to study abroad in 4 days. In a huge panic, I took my unresponsive HP Envy 15t-3000 to eBits because they were the closest computer shop. 49$ diagnostic found that the problem was a cheap, worn-out hard drive (and they also somehow discovered my computer's cooling problems). I explained my desperate time crunch, and the eBits team agreed to start work on my computer and have it ready for me the day before I had to leave. SO, from the time I brought it in to the time they had it ready for pickup, good as new, I count 52 hours. Give or take.
