This business is professional and awesome. I dropped my Droid X phone for the thousanth time and this time the screen went blank. The phone appeared to be working fine but the screen was non-functional. I took it to Verizon and they said there was nothing they could do other than sending it to Motorola and they may be able to fix it in a month or so. As I was not eligible for an "upgrade" until January, I was essentially screwed. They quoted me a replacement at over $400, and obviously had no interest in helping me. I found JCD Repair on the internet and phoned them. They were very professional and said they could likely repair my Droid, the same day, for $80!! I brought it in and they were able to repair it as promised, replacing the "LCD". I was extremely gratified and relieved; it works perfectly again. Two suggestions for improvement, if they are listening: 1. When I left the phone with them they did not have me sign anything or give me any paperwork. They were very professionally and discussed what could occur, such as there could be residual and/or prior damage which they could not be responsible for, which is fully understandable. I would have preferred that they had put this in writing, had me sign a repair order, and provide me with something to document that I had left my phone with them. Instead, I left uncertain and a bit uncomfortable that there was no record that I had left the phone with them. 2. After fixing my phone, I paid and was told that my debit card had been accepted again without being provided with any paperwork. When I got home, I observed that I did receive an email confirmation of the transaction. I should have been provided with a receipt, including the warranty terms which they discussed. Conclusion: This business fixed my phone for me as promised and were very professional in doing so. I am on a fixed income so replacing it was not an option. They appear to be somewhat overly geek/repair oriented, in a good way, but could improve the business aspect and protect themselves and their customers with my suggestions. Bob Q. Jet City Devices wins hands down for best repair service for high tech devices, period. Apple Tech Support had them on their list for hardware repairs, and I commend Apple for for pointing me in their direction (especially since they admitted themselves that the "official service center" would cost more than a replacement 3G). Tom, Stacy, and Trinity (the resident Bichon Frise) were all wonderful, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They were able to see me within an hour of when we first talked. After explaining that I probably needed was a new LCD, Tom told me what he would do over the phone (reseat the LCD connector, then replace the LCD if necessary), and quoted me a turn around time of 15 minutes and a price of $70 if the LCD was indeed bad (as opposed to 40 minutes and $75 from the nearest competitor). Tom didn't mind as I looked over his shoulder while he did the repair. He was quick at his work, very careful to avoid any additional damage during the repair, and described all of the repair steps to me. I was slightly concerned that the "maybe it is only the connector" comment over the phone was a come-on, but having disassembled and reassembled many mobile devices before (of the Palm and MS Mobile variety), it was clear that the LCD was truly dead after he reseated the connector. He then put everything back together, and even though it functioned properly, there was a slight contact spot between the outer glass and the LCD/touchscreen assembly (as evidenced by an eraser-sized spot that looked similar to a thin layer of oil on a puddle). He noticed this and pointed it out to me, and was willing to work with me to diagnose and fix this problem. It turns out that the act of screwing down the outer housing was distorting the LCD, and that a different LCD did not have this anomaly. Tom then apologized for taking longer than normal (by five minutes). Fast, friendly, experienced, helpful, and inexpensive - what more could you want? read more

From my first experience discovering them using Google search to our last conversation by email, they have acted professionally with obvious care in solving your electronic needs. I sent an email to these guys to see if they had the cure to apples touch disease, and I couldn't have been more impressed with the integrity in their response. Not only were they clearly able to explain to me that they were currently exploring the R&D to address this issue, they also were concise in why they were not the company I was looking for at the moment. They didn't stop there though. In addition, they gave me an awesome recommendation to another local place that has a 5 star reputation with experience in cureing the epidemic in which apple is completely in denial of. I have been working for weeks with apple. Being a sales person myself, I know how hard it is to turn business away especially in today's economy. I know how hard it is for a small business to keep in edge in the local community, which makes it hard to see your employee send business away. Wonderful service and experience with Jet City! My iPhone 6 went for an unexpected swim, I quickly slipped it into a bowl of rice cause I guess that is what one is supposed to do. A friend recommended I give Jet City a call. The next day, the day before I was due to head out of town for a long holiday, I called them for their advice. Jet City offered to do a free same day diagnostic on my phone to see if it was salvageable or if I'd have to go purchase a new phone. I immediately rushed my phone (minus rice) to them. Within 2 hours I got the call. I was in luck, the LCD was damaged and could be repaired. The water had not corroded anything further. I guess I'm lucky I got it in when I did and that I gave it an overnight rice bath. The replacement/repair service wasn't free ($110.00), but way cheaper than buying a new phone since my warranty had expired. Best part is that it was repaired and ready to go before the end of the day. Same day service. My battery hadn't been holding a charge very well. Jet City assured me that was due to battery age and had nothing to do with the swim. They offered a deal to update the battery since the phone was "on the table" and they absolutely did not pressure me to have it done right then. He even said, he'd give me the same $40.00 replacement deal (regular $69.00) if I came back to Jet City for the new battery when I wanted it replaced. I had them do it at the same time to save on the hassle in the future. Both LCD and Battery are warranted and said I should bring it back it there are any further problems with those two things. Absolutely satisfied. Great Job!! I have an older Samsung G7 model phone where the camera was broken and damaged. I found Jet City Device Repair while searching on Google for G7 camera phone repair. I navigated through their website and found their camera repair for $89.99. Skeptical at first, I called to speak to someone to get a vibe on their business service. The gentleman that I spoke to took the time to explain the process, shipping, and the service they were to perform. Wanting a second estimate, I called my local Staples store and asked for the same service. They quoted me a price of $349.99. Wow, I was shocked. OK so I proceed to package my phone and prepare for shipping to Jet City Device Repair. The Jet City Device Repair website was very easy to use and walked you step by step through the process. As soon as the phone arrived at their store I received an email stating they had received it and will be working on the phone over the next day. Literally the next day, I received another email stating the phone was complete and they provided me with my shipping tracking number. Two days later I received my phone back. I spent several hours using my repaired phone and confirmed the camera is working 100% properly. Great attitude you get from these guys, very friendly, upbeat, funny and honest. They like to keep the work atmosphere light, and you can tell they enjoy their work. The Wallingford location is a nice little storefront with couches to lounge on and they offer complimentary tea, coffee and juice. I got a good laugh out of them jamming out to 90's r&b, most of which I was in middle school when it came out, and I sort of assumed they were likely still in diapers around that time. Brought my iPhone 7 in about a half year ago and they charged me nothing to tell me it was unfixable because the mother board was fried, then told me to go to Apple since I'd had it less than a year and get a replacement under warranty. I certainly appreciated that. I brought my replacement in about 3 days ago because of damage and they were straight forward and did the repairs quickly while I waited in the store. They explained to me the damage before they did the repair so I was clear on what they were doing, again, which I really appreciated. They offer a lot for what you pay- full warranty on any replacement parts, plus they sell some bombproof cases and lifetime replacement on screen protectors. I even bought their warranty which is awesome, basically a free repair up to $100 a year, and the manager suggested I take advantage by at least replacing my battery yearly with it. I brought my Samsung Galaxy S4 in a few weeks ago because I dropped it and the glass broke. I called in early on a Sunday morning and they were able to replace the glass the same day within a few hours. But they called me while working on it to tell me the new glass would result in the fixed button lights would be blue instead of white which was OK with me at the time. I got the phone back and after using it for a day or so I decided I didn't like the new blue lights. Not because the lights were blue, but because they just weren't as crisp and visible as the original lights (they had these little grey dots covering them). I emailed them about it and their president responded to me and without hesitation offered to make it right. He explained the glass they had installed was from a supplier who provided them with a sub-standard part. They said they would contact me when they got the normal glass in stock with the white lights. A few days later they called me to let me know they had it... So I took the phone back last Saturday and they replaced the glass. I'm extremely satisfied with the service and value I received even though I had to go back twice. Customer service can be easy when there are no problems...but the real chance for a company to show its commitment to service is when there are problems and JCD did that for me and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

You guys gained a customer for life today. My phone stopped charging a few days prior to my visit, and I took my phone down to Xfinity to have it either repaired, or to look for a new phone should I need one. You can read that review if you care to, but there's just no way the guys at Jet City could have known what a terrible experience that was, or the kind of day I was having. I drove out to Wallingford to have JCD take a look at my device, expecting the worst. What can I say, from the moment I walked through the door and was greeted with a smile, my whole attitude just lifted. I handed my phone over the counter and explained that it'd stopped charging a few days ago. They took my phone straight into the back, I mean, this probably took 10 seconds, and came back out and told me that it was likely fixed. Apparently, there was some lint jam-packed in the charging socket, they cleaned it out and tested to ensure it was taking a charge, and then he told me they don't charge for cleaning. They handed me back my working phone with another smile and asked me to have a great day. Guys, thank you. Maybe a small gesture, but I appreciate that more than I could say in the moment, and that was just an awesome turnaround from my previous experience trying to get this phone working again. So sometimes I am either an idiot or a klutz or on my worse days both. On this one day I was a magnificent idiotic klutz and while walking my dog and trying to use my iPhone at the same time the phone slipped out of my gloved hands falling to the tarmack in an near perfect belly flop that shattered the screen. CRAP! The phone worked still worked but the shatter screen was not pretty. I did the prerequisite google search and found Jet City Device Repair and decided to give them a shot. (BTW, the folks ATT wanted to charge $199 for the fix while Jet City was only $75). I took the device in on lunch time and even though I missed my appointment time they fixed the device while I chowed down across the street. Just like new. However, after getting back to the office and using the device I found that the touch screen was sticky. I mentioned this to the folks at Jet City on their follow-up with me and they said bring in. So another lunch and they replaced the screen and it now works just like new. There was no angst on their part with respect to the redo. They took the device with a smile and called me while I was chowing at down at Anita's Crepes just up the street. That was a couple of weeks ago and the iPhone is working great. Jet City is rad! Friendly staff, great communication, reasonable prices and quality work. The first time I walked in, it was for a second opinion on a phone repair. They could have easily convinced me to let them do the work, but instead recommended that I go with the original quote from a chain repair place because said chain place had the necessary part in stock. In that moment they earned a loyal customer, and I have been really happy with all of the work they've done for me since. Some highlights: I've repeatedly brought in the same laptop (which my kid is super tough on and has managed to damage multiple times), and they've got it working again every time. I brought in an older Pixel phone with a cracked screen today. They had the part in stock and were able to turn it around in under an hour! They always make sure and call me by name and tell me their name so I know who I am talking to. Seems like a basic thing, but it makes me feel like I'm being taken care of by friendly people who genuinely enjoy helping their customers. Nicest guy you'll ever meet. Completely honest. Fixes your iphone glass screen in 10 minutes. Does a perfect job. Adds a plastic shield (or maybe he doesn't always but did for me because he had to throw away the plastic shield on the phone because of glass shards that stuck to it). Warranties his work for a year. No saying he'll be in business for a year but if he is, he'll honor it. On a 3g or 3gs where the glass screen and touch screen are isolated from the rest of the phone and connect with a tiny flat socketed connector, he does not enter or open the case of the iphone electronics. It is likely that the warranty remains in tact. There is no way that Apple could determine that the screen is not original. Under 15'. Wait and play with dog or go get a coffee and come back. Also fixes Android phones and ipod touches and probably other phones with glass screens. A positive, re-assuring experience. I suspect he does quite well charging less than 1/2 of what Apple charges and he does it w/o the "cooler-than-thou" pretentious arrogance of Apple. read more

I had a problem with my iPhone 5 and searched for a place to take it for evaluation. I found Jet City online. I had assumed it was a dead battery but after a quick 15 minute procedure unfortunately Sevash found it to be much more involved. He said he would look into other possibilities and 15 minutes later determined it would need to restored possibly losing all my data. He was very kind and knowledgeable and assured me he would try his best to bring it back to life. Thank goodness he made good on his promise and my phone is now up and running along with all it's original data. I can't say enough good things about this company and its staff. They went above and beyond all expectations and Sevash was very personable and willing to try numerous pathways to arrive at a solution. I would highly recommend this business for all your portable devices! They were miracle workers. Sevash also emailed me later to make sure my iPhone was working and that I was satisfied. A friend of mine referred me to Jet City and said that I had to have an appointment and to call them immediately because they fill up quickly. I managed to get an appointment for that evening, since they are open until 7:00 pm. This was really helpful, since I work during the day and yet could not be without my phone any longer than necessary. They warned me that even though I showed up early they would not be able to work on my phone until my reservation. They had one of the better minimal contact receptions I have seen, and I deliver and install those. All of this is great, but the fact that they repaired my phone in a half hour and the price was half of what I have been charged elsewhere. My friend that referred me said she will never use a "warranty" Service again , because they gave her a reconditioned replacement which she then had to set up completely whereas Jet City repaired her existing phone for cheaper than the cost of the warranty! I will definitely be referring people here myself. Bravo! read more
