I'm very past due on leaving FETCH a review, but I didn't have Yelp before. About 3 years ago we rescued a dog who was aggressive, timid as all hell, and relatively untrained. We came to Carly because we were afraid he'd bite another dog or person if we took him to group training, but something had to be done for him. Carly did a very good job of putting this dog in his place, and by the time our training sessions were done with him our dog had pretty much done a 360 turn-around. He's been wonderful since! So wonderful, in fact, that we're about to have Carly back to help train our newest addition. From our experience, I really don't think anyone can go wrong with FETCH. Yes, it's more expensive...but you get to focus on your dogs real problems, in the home, and formulate an individualized training plan. Plus, you can take advantage of the group training for life. I can't say enough good things about Go Fetch. My dog loves it there. He goes crazy as soon as we turn the corner, and he can't wait to get in there and play. The staff is great - always friendly, accommodating, and communicative, the facility is clean, and the prices are reasonable. I truly feel like they treat my dog like he is their own. They are knowledgeable and have people working with the dogs who really know dogs. I have done daycare almost daily for about a year, and I use them for overnights usually 2-4 nights a month. The monthly unlimited daycare package makes it affordable for me. Boomer is so tired from playing all day that he falls asleep in the back seat within 30 seconds of getting in the car. They throw him balls all day, and he just keeps chasing them. It makes my evenings much easier with a tired out pup. I highly recommend Go Fetch if you're looking for a place that your dog will love going to! It is his home away from home, and I never have to worry about him while I'm at work or out of town. read more

I went to goFetch on a neighbor's recommendation. I was able to get a last minute Monday morning grooming appointment for my 20-pound dog. I did need to scramble to find/locate my dog's immunization records to keep the grooming appointment (they are required to be current). My initial impression of the place was honestly that I wasn't impressed. It smelled like wet dog in there (naturally) but there was little attempt to mask the odor as evidenced by the essential oil diffuser going unused. I also didn't like how segregated the business felt. I could hear lots of dogs, but could not witness very well how the dogs were being taken care of or not. And I definitely had no view or idea of how they go about the grooming process there, as it all seems to take place behind closed doors. I was worried to leave my nervous dog, but I trusted the reviews on Yelp and my neighbor's good word. I came back an hour and a half later to see my dog looking better than he has in over two years! We came to FETCH for help with our huge puppy Hank. At 7 months old Hank weighed 85 pounds as was hard to walk or control. He would literally drag us down the street. In the first lesson Carley taught Hank basic skills like sit and stay. We were amazed at how fast Hank learned. Carley understood animal behavior and how to modify it. After 6 lessons Hank is now easy to walk, and we continue to train him with the techniques Carley taught us. We (including Hank) especially look forward to group class where we meet other owners and their dogs. The lessons are very reasonably priced and Carley could not be easier to work with. read more

the service here is excellent. the owner is super friendly and answered all my questions in great detail. i left my dog for a long weekend and was worried because i just got him from the shelter a few weeks before and wasn't sure if he'd be scared. i already knew he wasn't well socialized and had no idea if he was aggressive. my pup went in for a 1 hour temperament test and passed the with flying colors. over the weekend i watched him on their online video stream he seemed really happy! i have no complaints. read more

WE LOVE GOFETCH! We searches for dog daycares all the way from Costa Mesa to Santa Monica (based on where we work) but we finally (after MONTHS) decided to try out GoFetch which ended up being a few miles from our house. We started with the grooming services and Mila (our very shy Aussie pup) looked so cute after just one hour! So we decided to do a trial play date and she got along pretty quickly. Being helicopter parents we watched her on the webcam the first day and we were AMAZED at how affectionate, consistent, cleanly, and engaged the staff was. The second time we left her for a full day and for the first time in a year we ha a dog that was finally tired for two days straight after!! We went back to groom her again but this time wanted a HUGE change and our groomer advised us against going so drastic because it would alter her fur growth. WOW! She knew her stuff and we are so glad they didnt just take our money and chop off her fur but instead gave us a full consult on how to get the same look but make it manageable for the breed to ensure her fur grows back like normal. Wonderful new place for daycare and grooming. The owners and staff are very attentive. I can tell they really know my two Chihuahuas after just a few visits from what they tell me about them. What a great alternative to leaving them at home where they are bored and sometimes get into trouble. Prices are very reasonable and you can tell that these people love dogs! This is my second review. I've been bringing my Chow/Akita mix to GoFetch for more than a year. She is a happy camper there! Prior to finding GoFetch, I took her to a store within a large pet food chain, and this normally calm, happy dog would tremble violently and have to be forced into the back room. Now, she wags her tail when she sees the groomer, and always looks beautiful when I come to get her. I have also left her for daycare, and it has been a very positive experience. The 'cute factor' was wearing off our adorable puppy Lola quickly as she continued her bad behaviors. Thankfully, we found Carley and she was able to save the day. We got our puppy dog Luna started with Carley as a young pup and let me tell you, we thank all our stars for it as she has become such an INCREDIBLY behaved dog now. Carley is really good at not only training the dogs but training the owners. We had looked into the multiple types of training (positive reinforcement and pack leader) and never could really figure which one works best. Carley mixes the two and it has worked like a charm. My first review of FETCH was back on 5/16/2010. Here we are almost 2 years later and, although it has been quite the adventure with our Roxy-girl, she has become a really great dog. We have attended a few of the group training sessions and have found them to be very helpful, especially with socializing. Roxy is a very strong willed dog so it took more time than I was really prepared for but we keep working on all the things we learned in the 6 weeks of training and it seems to have paid off. Not perfect but our friends are always thrilled to see Roxy whenever they come over. Occasionally, I have contacted Carley about a new behavior that isn't so cute, and she has always contacted me and been very willing to come over for a tune-up visit. Roxy has always adored Carley. She certainly has a way with dogs. read more

We are so glad Carly opened a doggie daycare in Long Beach!! We found her on yelp over a year ago as her private training company, FETCH (also highly recommend), and she has helped our very excitable/anxious/energetic springer spaniel tremendously on the leash and in our home. When goFETCH became a reality, we were elated. As opposed to other dog walkers and day cares we have used in the past, we know that the goFETCH folks have legit training backgrounds and are able to give both of our dogs the specific attention they need. Our other dog, Bevo, is a teeny doxie who is completely passive and she loves getting human love and attention all day; while Reveille, the springer, gets to play fetch and run around all day in a unique supervised environment. Carly and Katherine are super aware of Rev's special needs (as she has had issues with aggression and nipping at other dogs in the past) and are not afraid to give her corrections or keep her in a separate area to calm her down when necessary. We had a rather serious problem on our hands when we switched dog walkers to goFETCH a few months ago, and now find that Rev is back to her normal friendly (energetic!) self. This is definitely a place where you can trust that your dog, no matter what it's temperament, will be safe and TIRED by the end of the day. read more

After adopting our Black Labrador Retriever Pennie, we soon found out that she was never socialized with other dogs and was lacking manners when walking on a leash on seeing other dogs. We contacted FETCH and we were immediatly impressed with Carley's quick response to our concerns with Pennie especially after learning Carley was a brand new mom. We were sold pretty much immediatly after meeting Carly for our FREE consultation. We signed up for the 6 lesson package which comes with FREE group lessons for life. We just finished out last lesson last night where we met Carley on 2nd Street (we thought it was a really cool idea that Carley had, meeting and walking on 2nd Street in order to socialize Pennie more). Carley is always prompt, always has a lesson plan and always shows her passion when working with Pennie and more so with us her owners. We highly reccomend FETCH for all of your training needs.
