However, as time goes on service and customer care seems to be declining. I'm in my mid 60s and have white hair, but the cashiers never offered the senior citizen discount unless you ask for it. I had good Birria tacos one time. The next time I went, they dipped them in consume, but didn't sear them off on the flat top so they were crispy so I ended up eating mush. That was my last review and I still gave him three stars for that mediocre attempt at a taco. I've been going to 407 BBQ for many years and I'm well aware of his sign that says if you don't specify, you get what you get no returns lean or fatty. Well I did specify, but the hostess didn't write it down on my order. OK you know what I am disappointed as all hell but that's my mistake since I didn't look at the receipt. Fine, but if you look at the receipt where I ordered a pound of brisket to go that clearly says lean, and it's a hell of a lot closer to fatty than lean. Look at my pictures below. That will tell you everything you need. My wife ordered the burger, which is normally very good and one of the more difficult choices that I have to make in life barbecue or burger. But this time it seems as though they put garlic salt on the burger or some sort of garlic flavoring which overpowers their burger we've never had to specify no garlic before, but maybe something has changed that I'm not aware of. Maybe he felt they needed to be more mainstream? Who knows. With the proliferation of really stellar barbecue now available around DFW I can no longer recommend 407. Maybe he's got too many young kids maybe I'm not aware and he sold out. Maybe he's gone corporate. I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe there's something going on in his life I'm not aware of and he's preoccupied with that. But I think I'm done with 407. He could've easily responded to my yelp review on the mediocre taco disaster, but he didn't. He didn't attempt to make it right. I published my receipt and he can go back in his system and see who I am. He's got my full name and phone number, but I doubt he'll contact me. It's a shame when he was working out of a small wooden shack, there seemed to be a lot more care about Customer Service and Support. There's always my standby Angelo's downtown Fort Worth, North Texas smoke out near Decatur, which is actually closer to me than 407 but has limited hours. Hutchins in Trophy Club and Daynes's barbecue in Aledo. I wish Brian and the 407 crew all the best. Hopefully they get things back

They slice it and put it on a plate. I ordered some brisket, a slice of turkey, and a rib. It is weighed and a sticker is put on your tray. You walk inside and can choose cold sides. Then there's a warmer where I chose Mac and cheese. Also as I walked in I was asked if I wanted fries or onion rings. I chose the rings and was given a number to keep on my tray so they could bring them out to me when they were ready. Then you pay. They also serve soda and alcoholic beverages but you get them at the bar. There is a place to get bbq sauce mild or spicy and if you're eating g in you can get pinto beans as well Everything we ate was delicious. Would definitely return, so many other items to try!!

A lot of reviews have described the process - it's as they say. Four stars only as compared to other Dallas BBQ joints - five star anywhere outside of Texas. Ribs and Jalapeño Sausage were perfect - great spice in the sausage. Brisket was ok - might have been my serving but not much flavor though I really didn't get any bark on my plate. I'd order it again - I'm just saying. If you're making the BBQ rounds and find yourself near Roanoke then Hard Eight should be on the list.

THIS place contends with the best of them! One thing we noted is that some places grill one meat well, but the rest are just okay. For example, good ribs and so-so brisket. That's not the case here! Everything we tried was incredibly tender! It's still tender despite warming it up the next day! There are ample sides. We tried macaroni and cheese and fried okra. Both were good. There was ample seating, extra parking, and the staff made us feel like we were in a family member's backyard. They were friendly and helpful. Please try Lil JJ's!

Service was friendly and explained some of the menu options well. Ordering was quick, and food was brought out quickly. Food - Overall if you compare this to most TX BBQ places, the flavors here are more reminiscent of Backyard BBQ. You're not going to find intensely smokey flavors, or Michelin rated BBQ...which is not a bad thing.... For the area, the value - pricing is fair, and quality (Brisket was pretty tender for Lean, Ribs were flavorful) it's a 5* through and through. But it won't be "Competition" esque. Example, the ribs are very tasty, but somewhat fall of the bone - they don't have the bite of a top top spot. If you want flavorful barbecue with a good menu, seasoned well, and good service JJs is solid. The area lacks barbecue and this is a good intro into the area where they're way too many chains. Would recommend stopping by!

My favorites are the Rooster Tails (fried onions) and the chips and queso, but the real stars of the menu are the burgers. They're always fresh, hot, and juicy. The free peanuts are a nice touch, and they offer daily specials as well. I really miss the Bloody Mary bar, which was always a lot of fun, but their Sunday special makes up for it with a generous double for just $7. There's always a game on TV, which is a welcome break when you've had enough politics to last a lifetime. The servers and bartenders are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. And whatever you do, don't forget to ask about the Yahtzee Roll at the bar. If you know, you know!

There's a full bar on both floors as well. The staff was pretty attentive, but the wait for food took a long time. I was happy the cocktails came pretty quickly and were well-made. The food was all pretty good for the most part not wowed but good! I have no complaints about my plate; it came with a great portion of food and was reasonably priced for BBQ. I ordered pulled pork and a side of corn and tomato salad and coleslaw. The sides were different from what I've had before, but I did enjoy them. Their coleslaw is more vinegar than mayo-forward. The pulled pork was well-seasoned, and the side of BBQ was the perfect match. My margarita tasted as if they made the mix in-house, and I prefer this. Store-bought mixers are usually either too sweet or too sour. However, if it is store-bought, I'm impressed! This was not a sweet margarita. My partner went for the Tennessee Texas Hot Sandwich; I did try it. There was hardly any heat despite it being their spicy chicken sandwich. I'm not sure if they make their chips in house but it seemed so.
