So I've given Bryan no shortage of great reviews over the years. I first saw him in 2017 working out of a trailer on the opposite side of I35 off of 407. I've had many good meals there. However, as time goes on service and customer care seems to be declining. I'm in my mid 60s and have white hair, but the cashiers never offered the senior citizen discount unless you ask for it. I had good Birria tacos one time. The next time I went, they dipped them in consume, but didn't sear them off on the flat top so they were crispy so I ended up eating mush. That was my last review and I still gave him three stars for that mediocre attempt at a taco. I've been going to 407 BBQ for many years and I'm well aware of his sign that says if you don't specify, you get what you get no returns lean or fatty. Well I did specify, but the hostess didn't write it down on my order. OK you know what I am disappointed as all hell but that's my mistake since I didn't look at the receipt. Fine, but if you look at the receipt where I ordered a pound of brisket to go that clearly says lean, and it's a hell of a lot closer to fatty than lean. Look at my pictures below. That will tell you everything you need. My wife ordered the burger, which is normally very good and one of the more difficult choices that I have to make in life barbecue or burger. But this time it seems as though they put garlic salt on the burger or some sort of garlic flavoring which overpowers their burger we've never had to specify no garlic before, but maybe something has changed that I'm not aware of. Maybe he felt they needed to be more mainstream? Who knows. With the proliferation of really stellar barbecue now available around DFW I can no longer recommend 407. Maybe he's got too many young kids maybe I'm not aware and he sold out. Maybe he's gone corporate. I'm not sure what's going on. Maybe there's something going on in his life I'm not aware of and he's preoccupied with that. But I think I'm done with 407. He could've easily responded to my yelp review on the mediocre taco disaster, but he didn't. He didn't attempt to make it right. I published my receipt and he can go back in his system and see who I am. He's got my full name and phone number, but I doubt he'll contact me. It's a shame when he was working out of a small wooden shack, there seemed to be a lot more care about Customer Service and Support. There's always my standby Angelo's downtown Fort Worth, North Texas smoke out near Decatur, which is actually closer to me than 407 but has limited hours. Due to the unique parking, not only do I need to have a hunger for barbecue, it cannot have rained for several days. This evening, the two aligned. The parking lot was not even half filled. Prior to today, I never realized there was paved parking. Of the ten spaces, less than half were taken. The pricing structure had changed. Unlike my last visit, there was no additional cost for the Street Corn. The one meat plate was still priced at $24. A benefit for customers preferring the "premium" sides over the regular-priced ones. Unfortunately, the quality of their meat has also changed. The brisket had large sections of marble. While I enjoyed the baked beans and corn, I came here for the brisket not for the sides. While waiting to order, I noticed their breakfast menu was displayed on a stand by the serving counter. I've been to 407 several times, and each visit has been a consistently good experience. The brisket is always flavorful and tender, the pulled pork is excellent, and the ribs are hands-down some of the best in the area. I've tried the burger a couple of times and, unfortunately, found it a bit underwhelming--especially since many BBQ spots tend to shine in that department with all their high-quality trimmings. There's plenty of seating inside and a large, comfortable patio for when the weather cooperates. I'm still dying to get in early enough to try their breakfast tacos--they look incredible--and I'll definitely report back once I finally snag a few. The staff is fantastic, and their strong Facebook presence is genuinely helpful. They do a great job keeping everyone updated on specials, new menu items, events, and any changes in hours. I've been wanting to get out here to 407 Bbq for some time, and today was the day. My timing was a little after the lunch crunch, and there were just a few folks already seated. Emma took my order and helped me navigate the menu. I went with the sliced brisket sandwich and half pound to go, unfortunately, they don't do burnt ends. The sandwich was absolutely perfect, plain hamburger buns with half pound of beef. The moisture added to the tenderness of each bite, and the seasoning was mild, which allow the beef to shine. Added some pickles and onions to enhance the flavor a touch. There is plenty of parking, but expect to get dusty if the winds blowing, as the lot is dirt and gravel. Indoor/Outdoor seating, typical rustic look, with law enforcement patches along the walls. These guys always know the good spots. 407Bbq is a gem a few minutes off 35W. The food is excellent. We had sliced brisket, a loaded tater, and ribs. Great smoky flavor, seasoned just right. Not overpowering but not bland. And very tender. The brisket fall apart, in a good way. It is a bit pricey, but no worse than any other good BBQ joint. The portions are good size, I could've split a plate with my wife or even a kid's meal would've been enough for me by myself. My dad came here with his friend and wouldn't stop raving about it, so he took us (his kids) there when we visited! It's a little bit of a drive outside of Dallas, but so worth it. Get super crowded around dinner/lunch time, so we got there early to get an indoor seat. There is outdoor seating as well. I got the rib plate with street corn and brussels sprouts. So delicious. Stopped in to try 407 BBQ for lunch recently and had a great meal. The menu is pretty wide - ranging. In addition to pork ribs, brisket , sausage and the other standards , they also have a smoked meatloaf, bologna, and a smashburger. My wife has tried the smoked meatloaf before and couldn't resist trying it again. This being my first time here, I had to try the brisket and ribs. Everything was excellent. The brisket had obviously been made with love and care. The sides were good , but not superstars. I got a green chile sweet corn and baked beans and my wife tried their mac and cheese. We met friends here for dinner. They are regulars but this was our first time trying it out. The weather was nice so we choose this restaurant for it's outside dining availability. We were the first to arrive and I was impressed with the large parking lot, which made parking easier. Once inside we walked down the stairs and directly into the line of people waiting to order food. With a stern warning on the door to not leave it open during the hot season we took a few seconds to find the end of the line. The logistics made it a bit harder to navigate as people don;t want to let you in the door or in line or enough room to walk past. We ordered the keto bowl with chicken and wet brisket. Having lived in Texas our whole lives we were more familiar with moist or dry and when the wet arrived it was not fatty like my husband enjoys but more wiggly and having a very different texture. I tried it and did not enjoy the mouth feel. Accompanying my husbands plate were some burnt ends which he didn't order. It was also strange and reminded me of scrapping off the burnt part of a brisket before you cut it. My keto bowl was not a bowl at all. It was freshly cook chicken with cheese and bacon that was prepared fresh then immediately placed on iceberg lettuce on a tray which caused the lettuce to wilt. I felt this was over promise, under deliver. I did like the flavor of the BBQ sauce. We sat outside quite a while and I began to realize we were covered with the dust from the cars leaving the parking lot so I think it might be better to sit inside. HOLY MOLEY !!! We're traveling through America and I've had good BBQ up until now. 407 BBQ is the BEST I've ever had !! We came in on a Tuesday or Wednesday and we decided to eat around 2 pm. The place thankfully wasn't that busy because I get anxiety with large crowds. We don't do restaurants on Fridays or Saturdays. We walk in and get in line. We have no clue what to get so we ask the cashier, What's really good here, this is our first time. She says The Jalapeño sausage and we ended up getting one of the family meals. We used to eat a lot of BBQ back in SoCal and it was expensive. This place has the best BBQ and is really great on the price. In fact we ended up ordering again for Christmas. Now the real change was not eat all of it in the two days before Christmas. We ordered 3lbs of brisket, 1lb of sausage, 1lb of ham. We got 3 pints of sides. The Mac n cheese (which did not even last a day lol), the Brussel sprouts, and their cheese potatoes. Also 2 full racks of ribs, and a smoked meatloaf. They gave us a bag of Hawaiian bread and a bottle of BBQ sauce. All for under $300 !! We easily fed 10 people on that amount and still had half a rack of ribs left over. We have some friends who live closer to Dallas and they took us to a couple of places and all of us kept saying how 407 brisket was the best compared to the other places that was super dry. I did like the sausage better at one of the places because it was less peppery and thinner casing than 407 has but not worth driving all the way out to downtown Dallas when 407 was soooo much better in other ways. The ribs have this amazing seasoning that you could buy at their place. Since we're traveling and won't be back ( ) we ended up with 3 bottles of their seasoning to take on our travels. Well let's start with the outside-there is plenty of parking and adequate amount of seating outside under the covered pergolas. A plus is, they have fans, which is nice on this summer fall day we are having. On the inside there is plenty of seating as well, they have all kinds of badges hanging on the wall which is interesting. The service was quick, we ordered at the counter and she was very friendly. Let's get right into it. Ribs - First thoughts: very, very peppery. A bit too much for my liking but to each their own. I feel like I tasted hints or coffee or beer but I could be very wrong. The meat wasn't fall off the bone but it was tender. Brisket - I didn't specify how I wanted my brisket on purpose so I just took what I was given, but you can specify at the register if you want it juicy and fattier or leaner. I liked the brisket better than the ribs. Easy to chew and tender. Good flavor. Potato salad - I really enjoyed their potato salad and was thankful there was no cheese in it. I've been to bbq spots that mix cheese into it and it just isn't my thing. The taste really complimented the bbq. Baked Bean - These are a gem. I think brisket or some type of meat was cooked into them. I would for sure recommend this as a side. I LOVE Hawaiian rolls and was happily surprised that my plate came with two. Now, onto the peach cobbler. Peach cobbler is one of my favorite desserts so every time I see it on the menu I have to order it. This peach cobbler is heavy handed on the cinnamon, so something to keep in mind, but it was delicious. While some cobblers use pie type crust, this one is more bread/cakey which I prefer.
