If you are looking for an authentic, upscale Texas dining experience in Dallas, 1845 Taste Texas delivers on the flavor. While it sits on the pricier side of the scale, the quality of the food makes it a worthwhile splurge for a truly great meal. The Texas Experience sampler is an absolute must-order to kick things off. The fried jalapeños have the perfect crunch, but the pork belly was the standout highlight of the platter--perfectly rendered and incredibly flavorful. As for the main course, the filet was easily one of the best I have ever had. It was a high-quality cut of meat and, more importantly, expertly cooked to the exact temperature requested. Expert service from the staff made the entire meal complete. The only reason I am not giving it a full five stars is the price point; it is definitely an investment for dinner. However, for a special occasion or a high-end night out, the food quality lives up to the bill. I will definitely be back for that pork belly!

Best ribeye steak we had by far. Hubby took me here for our Valentine's dinner. For appetizer we ordered the pork belly with caramelized root beer served with toasted rolls. They were amazingly good! Our rib eye was served with Brussels sprouts for me and baked potato for him. Also ordered asparagus which came with thick stems but still crunchy. The rib eye was cooked and seasoned to perfection and so are the sides. For dessert we had the peach cobbler topped with pecans coupled with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. Emilio, our server was very attentive and also thoroughly explained everything. He was great. Loved the cozy ambience--great for both social and romantic ambience. Even with the crowd which happens so quickly, hubby and I still felt private sitting in a booth. A bit pricey but worth it especially for special occasions. Would love to come back here again.

Very good valentine's day meal. Went all out on appetizers, entree and dessert. We got the filet queso and fried quail as appetizers. Both of them were outstanding. The queso was creamy and the filet was tender and paired great with the queso. The lockhart fried quail appetizer may have been the star of the night with a star studded cast. The fry was perfect and quail was incredibly juicy. I had the filet mignon and sweet baked potato for my entree. I asked for a medium rare cook and that is exactly what they provided. The sear was excellent with a simple but tasty salt and pepper crust. Great cook and tender cut. The sweet prost was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. And finally for dessert I went with the blueberry crumble. Good moist and warm. Finally the 45 old fashioned was a great drink, the smokiness with the cherry made for one of the smoother old fashioned I've had. This review would not be complete without mentioning Kylea our server. She was amazing and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. This was my first trip to 1845 and I am sure to return to try more of the menu.

We love it here. It's one of our go to restaurants--for birthdays, celebrations, date night... whatever. Great steak. No seed oils! This is a huge plus. Environment is alway pretty lively. It's dark but not quiet or romantic. Has a modern vibe. Great food all around.

This is our second time here, and it was better than first time. Made reservation on resy. Was seated 20mins prior. Parking is a little tricky here so give yourself ample time. Lindsey was our waitress, and she was amazing and made our night. It was our son's 14th birthday dinner and they made it so special. Appetizer- spicy jalapeño, and onion rings Entree- husband and son got filet mignon with asparagus and jalapeño mac & cheese. I got the Texas strip with mashed potatoes. My daughter got blackened red fish. Dessert, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream with the sparkler on it for our birthday boy Everything was delicious. Place was packed. Lights are dim. Ambiance was perfect. Great food and wonderful service.

I was in the mood for a steak, so what better place than an establishment that uses fresh cut filets and ribeyes. We went with the 7pz filet w/mashed potatoes and the Prime rib with asparagus. Both steaks cooked to perfection. The asparagus was different, good, but different. It had a smokey taste which was a nice twist. Not pictured was the blueberry crunch and it was spectacular! Service was spectacular, verified our steaks were cooked to our liking. Dining area is Texas through and through! I'll definitely be back to try one of those Texas favorites, Chicken fried steak/chicken.

My wife's cousin and her husband came up from San Antonio and wanted us to meet them here for dinner. (They chose this spot) Anywho, we ordered some cocktails and appetizers to start off. The appetizer was good, but only one of the cocktails shined in my eyes and that was the Clyde Barrow. The Bonnie Parker was too sweet for my liking. The drink my wife had was the Clyde Barrow, now that drink was strong, just how I like them. I want to taste the alcohol, LOL!! I think we split the wedge salad, I can't remember, but it was good. We also ordered the 14 oz ribeye and split that and we each had a loaded baked potato. Everything was ok, not the best in the world we ever had, just ok. Now we've eaten at plenty of high end steak houses, which better than this one, so that is why the 3 stars. It was ok. The service was good, but will we come back, probably not.

Our experience was perfect tonight! Jen was a wonderful waitress. We started with the Filet mignon cheese dip, he had a 1845 Salad with a buttermilk vinaigrette, I had a 9oz filet mignon with the most delicious au gratin potatoes and he had a 12oz filet mignon with the au gratin potatoes. Restaurant is so nice with perfect lighting and always clean. The manager stopped at our table and checked on us. Exceptional quality of food and service.

Really great ambiance and service here! Lakeside neighborhood is a perfect location. We ordered drinks the most recent time, but last time ordered food and everything was amazing. You can make a reservation, but usually not needed. Cocktails are great. My favorite is the clyde barrow.

If you want a real taste of Texas this is the place for you. In here everything is Texas. The music, artwork, and food is all locally sourced. Everything is as so delicious and well seasoned. The service was also on point. We arrived around 5 pm to celebrate by friend's birthday. It was to our surprise that we got there in time for their happy hour that runs from 4-6. It had all beer, glasses of wine, and cocktails 50 percent off. It was moderately full. Bailey was our waiter for the evening and he was confident we would enjoy our dinner. Boy was he right. We have the taste of Texas appetizer sampler. It included 4 meatballs, 4 portions of fried quail, 6 pork belly sliders, and fried jalapeño peppers. Everything was delicious but my personal favorite was the Quail. For my main I have the 9oz Fillet with a side of potato's au gratin. I had my fillet medium. It was absolutely delicious, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. Melted in my mouth. By buddy had the 30oz Texas pork chop. This thing was massive and looked like something Fred Flintstone would eat. To top it off I even ordered dessert. I had the bourbon soaked peach cobbler. So sweet and decadent. I don't usually get desserts and never get peach cobbler but this was worth it. I nearly ate myself into a coma. On time of the delicious food the service was also outstanding. Bailey was great and the managers event stopped by to check on us. They earned all fives stars.

1845 did not disappoint! The mood is warm and inviting, beautiful western paintings and sculptures. We sat at the bar for a drink of Bulliet Rye after a hard days work, very relaxing, then on to our booth with a party of 5, our waitress was very informative about the restaurant and the menu.... we ordered , onion rings, meatballs, pork belly, prime rib, filet mignon, salmon, fried quail, bussels spourts... Everything was phenomenal!! And don't you dare leave without dessert!! Yum Yum!

Food (5/5): The food is definitely the star of the show. Started off with the Texas Experience as the appetizer which could be a meal on it's own. The Dr Pepper glaze on the pork belly was something else on an already amazing appetizer. The first entrée was the Texas Strip with the Mac & Cheese. The quality of the steak was definitely on point and cooked perfectly to my liking. The surprise on this entree was the Mac & Cheese. This item tends to come out bland at the places I go to that offer it but this one was liquid gold and definitely one of the best I have had so far. The second entrée was the Blackened Redfish with Truffle Fries. The redfish on its own was delicious but with that spicy cream sauce it was pure chef's kiss. Service (5/5): The service here was top notch as you would expect from a nice establishment as this one. The door was opened for us as we walked up to the entrance and greeted with a welcoming hello as we walked in. Our server Jaden provided great service being friendly and attentive making sure our first time visit here was an enjoyable one. Location (5/5): The restaurant is located in a mixed-use district that has other restaurants, businesses, apartments, and a movie theatre. The restaurant itself felt very upscale and had almost like a lounge type feel due to low light atmosphere which I enjoyed. A decent sized restaurant with plenty of seating inside and a very nice bar area as well.

The bar was initially staffed by a single bartender. Not only did she introduce herself, she also asked for my name. As I needed a menu, she asked the host for a stack for myself and other diners. A second employee, not as friendly, arrived sometime later to assist setting up the bar. There were some minor inconveniences arriving this early. Because I was the first to require a refill, the bartender had to get a coffee pot from the kitchen. Afterwards, she kept the pot at the bar. I decided on the Breakfast Egg Rolls. Not sure how something tagged "new" can be a house specialty. The breakfast jam lacked flavor. The egg rolls were saved due to the taste of the fried wontons. Of the two sauces, the maple syrup was better than the spicy hollandaise. The hollandaise lacked both heat and spiciness. When I was served coffee, I was not provided either cream nor sweeteners. As I did not notice any nearby, rather than wait to have the her return to the kitchen, I decided to give it a sip. Surprisingly, the coffee tasted great. It was neither acidic nor had a bitter aftertaste.
