My partner and I stopped in here for our anniversary dinner and had a lovely time. The atmosphere is clean and sophisticated without being too much, and the service we received was great. We were brought a bottle with lights in it to signify our special occasion. The waitress also did a lovely job at explaining their specialities to us at the beginning. We first tried the recommended pork belly appetizer, and it was delicious. The cook on the pork was perfect and the glaze was slightly sweet in a brown sugar sort of way. The bread tasted like butter with the texture of a roll. I got the 14 oz ribeye with asparagus, and it was very good. The cook and texture on it was incredible. My only minor criticism was it being a little over salty. My bf got the prime rib, and it tasted perfectly like fatty brisket with prime rib texture. He also very much loved his au gratin. We shared the double chocolate as dessert. Note that it wasn't complimentary, but they did put a sparkler in it. Very sweet and rich brownie cheesecake combo with vanilla ice cream. It was decent but we were also very full by this point! Overall a great place for a nice meal for a special occasion.

If you are looking for an authentic, upscale Texas dining experience in Dallas, 1845 Taste Texas delivers on the flavor. While it sits on the pricier side of the scale, the quality of the food makes it a worthwhile splurge for a truly great meal. The Texas Experience sampler is an absolute must-order to kick things off. The fried jalapeños have the perfect crunch, but the pork belly was the standout highlight of the platter--perfectly rendered and incredibly flavorful. As for the main course, the filet was easily one of the best I have ever had. It was a high-quality cut of meat and, more importantly, expertly cooked to the exact temperature requested. Expert service from the staff made the entire meal complete. The only reason I am not giving it a full five stars is the price point; it is definitely an investment for dinner. However, for a special occasion or a high-end night out, the food quality lives up to the bill. I will definitely be back for that pork belly!

Best ribeye steak we had by far. Hubby took me here for our Valentine's dinner. For appetizer we ordered the pork belly with caramelized root beer served with toasted rolls. They were amazingly good! Our rib eye was served with Brussels sprouts for me and baked potato for him. Also ordered asparagus which came with thick stems but still crunchy. The rib eye was cooked and seasoned to perfection and so are the sides. For dessert we had the peach cobbler topped with pecans coupled with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious. Emilio, our server was very attentive and also thoroughly explained everything. He was great. Loved the cozy ambience--great for both social and romantic ambience. Even with the crowd which happens so quickly, hubby and I still felt private sitting in a booth. A bit pricey but worth it especially for special occasions. Would love to come back here again.

Very good valentine's day meal. Went all out on appetizers, entree and dessert. We got the filet queso and fried quail as appetizers. Both of them were outstanding. The queso was creamy and the filet was tender and paired great with the queso. The lockhart fried quail appetizer may have been the star of the night with a star studded cast. The fry was perfect and quail was incredibly juicy. I had the filet mignon and sweet baked potato for my entree. I asked for a medium rare cook and that is exactly what they provided. The sear was excellent with a simple but tasty salt and pepper crust. Great cook and tender cut. The sweet prost was perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. And finally for dessert I went with the blueberry crumble. Good moist and warm. Finally the 45 old fashioned was a great drink, the smokiness with the cherry made for one of the smoother old fashioned I've had. This review would not be complete without mentioning Kylea our server. She was amazing and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. This was my first trip to 1845 and I am sure to return to try more of the menu.

This is our second time here, and it was better than first time. Made reservation on resy. Was seated 20mins prior. Parking is a little tricky here so give yourself ample time. Lindsey was our waitress, and she was amazing and made our night. It was our son's 14th birthday dinner and they made it so special. Appetizer- spicy jalapeño, and onion rings Entree- husband and son got filet mignon with asparagus and jalapeño mac & cheese. I got the Texas strip with mashed potatoes. My daughter got blackened red fish. Dessert, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream with the sparkler on it for our birthday boy Everything was delicious. Place was packed. Lights are dim. Ambiance was perfect. Great food and wonderful service.

Tried 1845 for the first time and I'm honestly mad I'm just now discovering it I'm a picky eater, so when I say EVERYTHING was good... I mean it. I started with the poblano meatballs and wow, so flavorful, perfectly seasoned, almost had that grilled taste . For drinks, I had a lemon drop martini and it did not disappoint. For my meal, I ordered the chicken fried chicken and baby... BEST I've ever had. The crust was seasoned perfectly, not too hard, and the chicken was juicy. I also tried the smothered chicken, just as good. And dessert?! Peach cobbler with a snickerdoodle cookie crust... hands down the best I've ever had. No notes. Shoutout to our waitress Heather, she was so sweet, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The manager Chris also came by a few times to check on us, which I really appreciated. 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back and telling everyone about this place!

We love it here. It's one of our go to restaurants--for birthdays, celebrations, date night... whatever. Great steak. No seed oils! This is a huge plus. Environment is alway pretty lively. It's dark but not quiet or romantic. Has a modern vibe. Great food all around.

I was in the mood for a steak, so what better place than an establishment that uses fresh cut filets and ribeyes. We went with the 7pz filet w/mashed potatoes and the Prime rib with asparagus. Both steaks cooked to perfection. The asparagus was different, good, but different. It had a smokey taste which was a nice twist. Not pictured was the blueberry crunch and it was spectacular! Service was spectacular, verified our steaks were cooked to our liking. Dining area is Texas through and through! I'll definitely be back to try one of those Texas favorites, Chicken fried steak/chicken.

The drink on the right was the better drink.

My wife's cousin and her husband came up from San Antonio and wanted us to meet them here for dinner. (They chose this spot) Anywho, we ordered some cocktails and appetizers to start off. The appetizer was good, but only one of the cocktails shined in my eyes and that was the Clyde Barrow. The Bonnie Parker was too sweet for my liking. The drink my wife had was the Clyde Barrow, now that drink was strong, just how I like them. I want to taste the alcohol, LOL!! I think we split the wedge salad, I can't remember, but it was good. We also ordered the 14 oz ribeye and split that and we each had a loaded baked potato. Everything was ok, not the best in the world we ever had, just ok. Now we've eaten at plenty of high end steak houses, which better than this one, so that is why the 3 stars. It was ok. The service was good, but will we come back, probably not.

If you want a real taste of Texas this is the place for you. In here everything is Texas. The music, artwork, and food is all locally sourced. Everything is as so delicious and well seasoned. The service was also on point. We arrived around 5 pm to celebrate by friend's birthday. It was to our surprise that we got there in time for their happy hour that runs from 4-6. It had all beer, glasses of wine, and cocktails 50 percent off. It was moderately full. Bailey was our waiter for the evening and he was confident we would enjoy our dinner. Boy was he right. We have the taste of Texas appetizer sampler. It included 4 meatballs, 4 portions of fried quail, 6 pork belly sliders, and fried jalapeño peppers. Everything was delicious but my personal favorite was the Quail. For my main I have the 9oz Fillet with a side of potato's au gratin. I had my fillet medium. It was absolutely delicious, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. Melted in my mouth. By buddy had the 30oz Texas pork chop. This thing was massive and looked like something Fred Flintstone would eat. To top it off I even ordered dessert. I had the bourbon soaked peach cobbler. So sweet and decadent. I don't usually get desserts and never get peach cobbler but this was worth it. I nearly ate myself into a coma. On time of the delicious food the service was also outstanding. Bailey was great and the managers event stopped by to check on us. They earned all fives stars.

Food (5/5): The food is definitely the star of the show. Started off with the Texas Experience as the appetizer which could be a meal on it's own. The Dr Pepper glaze on the pork belly was something else on an already amazing appetizer. The first entrée was the Texas Strip with the Mac & Cheese. The quality of the steak was definitely on point and cooked perfectly to my liking. The surprise on this entree was the Mac & Cheese. This item tends to come out bland at the places I go to that offer it but this one was liquid gold and definitely one of the best I have had so far. The second entrée was the Blackened Redfish with Truffle Fries. The redfish on its own was delicious but with that spicy cream sauce it was pure chef's kiss. Service (5/5): The service here was top notch as you would expect from a nice establishment as this one. The door was opened for us as we walked up to the entrance and greeted with a welcoming hello as we walked in. Our server Jaden provided great service being friendly and attentive making sure our first time visit here was an enjoyable one. Location (5/5): The restaurant is located in a mixed-use district that has other restaurants, businesses, apartments, and a movie theatre. The restaurant itself felt very upscale and had almost like a lounge type feel due to low light atmosphere which I enjoyed. A decent sized restaurant with plenty of seating inside and a very nice bar area as well.

Our experience was perfect tonight! Jen was a wonderful waitress. We started with the Filet mignon cheese dip, he had a 1845 Salad with a buttermilk vinaigrette, I had a 9oz filet mignon with the most delicious au gratin potatoes and he had a 12oz filet mignon with the au gratin potatoes. Restaurant is so nice with perfect lighting and always clean. The manager stopped at our table and checked on us. Exceptional quality of food and service.

Really great ambiance and service here! Lakeside neighborhood is a perfect location. We ordered drinks the most recent time, but last time ordered food and everything was amazing. You can make a reservation, but usually not needed. Cocktails are great. My favorite is the clyde barrow.

But, I'm no elitist and my positive past experiences here as well as other locations have earned them my repeat business. However, I hadn't been in quite a while and I had never dined in at this particular restaurant, so my family and I decided to have dinner here on a quiet Sunday evening. The free kids meal deal certainly helped in making that decision. Among the 4 of us we got a good variety of the meat they offer, including the sausage, brisket, turkey, and pulled pork. We all agreed that everything seemed to lack the requisite smoky flavor that barbecue is known for. Like, I could have gotten a smoked sausage from the grocery store and fried it up in a pan and the end result would have been the same. It's not that it wouldn't taste good, but it wouldn't be considered barbecue. The sides ranged from delicious, such as the loaded baked potato casserole, to average, like the mac and cheese, to inedible, being the cucumber and tomato salad. The 3 sauces available I would describe as slightly too sweet, way too sweet and sugar overload. Speaking of sweet, they also offer free soft serve ice cream for dessert. Now this was the one thing that got zero complaints from us! As previously stated, kids eat free on Sundays, which was one of the reasons we chose to eat here. Our cashier even enthusiastically reminded me as I was paying. But, once I sat down I noticed that I was charged for the kids meal. As soon as I took the receipt back and pointed it out to the cashier he did refund the money. Therefore, I strongly suggest checking your receipt before leaving, especially since I'm not the only one who has been incorrectly charged as per other reviews.

We ordered an 8 0z strip MW & a Medium rare 12oz Fort Worth Ribeye. Zane was very nice, but being in the last hour of operations he was very sidetracked with his closing duties. We ran out of honey cinnamon butter. Zane was busy so I tried to get my own but the tray was empty with the exception of one that looked like it had hit the floor. Steaks came out. My fiancé's was fine. Mine was thick but extremely over cooked. Zane apologized a lot. Le'Anne came by to check on us. Asked how we were doing.... Trying to be optimistic I said, "getting better." We weren't in fact getting better. The line prep manager brought my remake steak out. It was extremely thin. You could tell a press iron was used to bring it to temp quickly. He asked he to cut into it. It had some pink. A thin line, not a hot pink as legendary service would suggest. I was hungry and told him that was fine. As we sat there the pink slowly disappeared and I was eating a tough, over cooked, cold thin steak. Over all Zane was polite. We picked a bad time to come in. Food was lousy. I'd rate tonight's experience a 2 out of a ten. Far from the legendary birthday experience I had anticipated.
