I could not be happier with my choice of Going Green Limousine. My company had an employee coming to America for a temporary assignment, so I wanted some special hand-holding to make his arrival problem-free. Of course, Mother Nature had other ideas!! His flight got diverted to another airport during a storm. Going Green went ahead and tracked the flight, called the airline to confirm when he would truly be arriving at ORD, and called ME to let me know. The company kept me informed throughout the day of the status of his return to ORD, as well an unexpectedly long time in Customs. They waited patiently for him, and all was well. During the entire time, Going Green assured me they had the situation in hand, and they really did. I am so relieved and happy that I chose this company. The service (both on the phone and from the driver) was exceptional. I will definitely use Going Green Limousine again and would recommend them to anybody. Could not have asked for a better experience! I used Going Green to get 6 adults and 1 infant from my Lakeview home to Midway (at 3:30am for a 6:30 flight!) and then on the return trip from O'Hare back to our house. For both trips the driver was right on time and right where he was supposed to be. The infant car seat we requested was installed in the back seat, and the driver was very helpful in loading all our bags. The vehicle was an 8 seat SUV and it comfortably fit our group plus checked and carryon luggage for everyone. We paid $95 for each trip and then you can tip on the credit card or in cash but a tip is not included in the rate. I liked that I could get a quote from the website before committing to a booking. Going Green turned a stressful travel situation (baby needing a car seat, flying out of/into different airports, and leaving super early in the AM) into a very pleasant and smooth experience. When we picked up our bags at O'Hare, I simply called the phone number on my confirmation email and within five minutes our ride was outside. Will definitely use again and highly recommend for families traveling to/from the airport. read more

We hired Going Green Limousine to take us around Chicago after our wedding for photos and were very happy with the service. We rented an SUV from 3pm until 5pm(ish). Our driver was prompt, polite and very helpful. We had 3 different stops throughout Chicago and the driver waited very patiently as we stopped to take photos. He always found places to park out of the way. He even dropped the photographer off at the starting point, which I thought was going above and beyond. Going Green Limo was great for a recent business trip. While its always more expensive to get a car service from a house in Chicago to the airport (as opposed to the burbs)... I thought they were in line on price. I called a few days in advance for a quote - and booked a car. They showed up on time, and told me they actually over quoted me $5, so it'd be $5 less. Ok, thanks! The driver was very friendly, they had a ford hybrid which was clean and comfy for the ride! Definitely recommend them and can't really think of an easier car experience. read more

After a bad experience with another limo service I went with going green based on the yelp reviews and after the experience with them I'll never use anyone else! On the way to the airport the driver was 5 minutes early and we chatted the entire way. He also asked that the temp was OK and if I wanted to listen to the radio. On the way back my travel plans changed several times with getting bumped from my original flight then having the second one canceled. They were very nice on the phone and helpful to make sure I got taken care of. On the eventual trip back home from the airport I ended up with the owner driving me and got a chance to learn about how he started the company and it was again an enjoyable ride! My family has been using Going Green since it's early days because they offer carseats for kids. We mainly use them for airport pickups and dropoffs because it's such a comfort to not have to worry about your transportation too and from home...traveling is hectic enough. And last week, they really came through for us. My husband's original flight into Chicago was cancelled after a long delay. We managed to book him on another flight at another airport at his departing city and then that flight ended up being delayed for hours. We used Going Green for a trip to Chicago in early January because they offered carseats for kids and had a range of vehicle sizes to fit our party and luggage. It was great to be picked up curbside at ORD, with a toddler carseat already installed. Luggage was loaded quickly and we were on our way to downtown. We booked them from our house (far west suburbs) to O'Hare and back. The drivers were prompt, courteous, friendly, professional, and didn't drive like maniacs. They engaged us in conversation - not the typical "I have to act interested in the passenger" talk, but a genuine care and concern for our upcoming trip. We were traveling with some very heavy luggage, and they toted it all around with not a complaint. I initially chose Going Green Limousine because they offered child seats and booster seats, but after such a wonderful experience with them, I will be a repeat customer, even if I don't need child seats! The customer service was fantastic, in particular Rebecca was incredibly helpful in figuring out how to best transport my party of 11 adults and 3 small children. The cars were clean and comfortable, and their drivers were friendly and professional. For one point-to-point transfer, Going Green Limousine even accommodated my request to have the cars come 30-60 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. *** BUYER BEWARE *** I am currently shopping for our wedding day transportation. Came across them on Yelp and checked out their page due to their rating. Their webpage is a bit of an eyesore, but I browsed through it carefully and I thought, "Great, there's an Instant Rate Lookup!" I entered in all my information and got a fairly reasonable rate back, $125/hour for an 8 passenger limo. The site ALLOWS you to select one or two hours and does not specify the MINIMUM number of hours required. I emailed them to ask them if the price included anything other than just bottled water? Some comparable limo services charge a bit more but include champagne, beer, soda, a red carpet, decorations, and a "Just Married" sign-- so I asked what their policy was on these extra perks? It's like they were trying to pull the classic bait-and-switch on me, they reel you in with the a decent rate on their page, but then they respond to my email stating the smallest limo they have is for 12-14 passengers at higher rate with a min of 3 consecutive hours and requires 20% gratuity. At the end of the day, they did not answer my question and they tried to change the service on me (or they could simply update their page so as to avoid misleading other potential clients)... Perhaps I am the only anomaly... but a significant chunk of these 5 star reviews are from people with less than 10 reviews, no friends, or pic. Just seems a bit shady already, therefore I would certainly NOT book them for my special day. read more

So, you're from out of town and need to book a ride from the airport to a suburban destination? Good luck with this company. If the price doesn't change a few times, and if you're actually able to get 'an instant quote' from their website, then maybe you're lucky and all will work out fine. But for me, the stress of traveling and coordinating the details was not helped by the complete lack of consideration I received. The misquoted prices were one issue (went from $55 to $78 twice) and the excuses on not getting the right airport pickup info were lame. But the kicker was that regardless of how the website claims "we leave the tip up to you" they automatically charge a 20% tip BEFORE the ride (and ask you to notify them if it's going to be different after the ride...within 24 hours....wth?) AND you have to book with your credit card....just in case? I started my contact with a quote request and by the time I told them $93 from the airport was way out of line with their competitors' posted rates, I quickly received an INVOICE. Of course I called directly to cancel it (I was within the 26th hour of time of travel) the operator quite rudely cancelled the ride and promptly hung up on me. I then received a second invoice of cancellation with bold, red writing stating that I still owed them $93!! So I had to call again (you know how you have just tons of extra time before a big trip, right?) and request that the cancellation invoice reflect Nothing owed. This time a harried mother with baby crying in the background apologized and promised to correct it. She did in fact correct it promptly BUT was it worth all of that to have a company at least pretend that they care? I don't know...but my fellow Yelpers, I'm glad I dug further and found a "suburban ride" service in the Chicago area that truly delivered on all points! read more

They arrived on time, which was good. And they were professional on the phone when I called, which is good. However, the ride itself was pretty bad - limo service these days seems to translate into "whatever driver we can get to get you to the airport". The problem with that is that these people are generally poor drivers. My guy weaved in and out of traffic. He slammed the gas accelerating from red lights and drove fast until he hit traffic or a red light and needed to brake sharply. A pleasant limo ride should be... well, pleasant - a smooth ride. This guy drove like he probably drives in his personal life, which is not comfortable for passengers. I can't recommend them based on my lack of a good experience. read more

I have used Going Green several times over a period of a few years. They were best in the early years when you'd always get a friendly person on the line the minute you dialed them up. But the last time I used them, for a pickup at Midway, they didn't show up till about 30 minutes late, and it was impossible to reach them by phone--I kept getting a busy signal. Later I learned that they'd farmed out their phone service to a company that didn't employ enough people to answer promptly. Today I wanted to reserve a ride on their website, so I tried to log in, but my password was not accepted, so I used my e-mail address to try to retrieve login details. I was told that the information had been sent to me successfully. However, it never arrived. So I went online thinking I would try to reserve as a guest, without logging in to my account. First I tried to look up the rate from Midway to Evanston, but for this search, their website claims "NO RATES FOUND FOR THE ROUTE YOU SELECTED." This is odd, however, since Going Green has driven me this exact route on previous occasions. Then I tried to make a reservation online, assuming I would eventually be told what the rate is. This involved filling out extensive information, but on the final page I still had not been told what the charges would be, yet I was asked to enter credit card details and commit to the reservation, price unknown. Not wanting to commit to this reservation without first hearing what the price is, I called Going Green, long distance from a foreign country, at my expense. Their phone tree told me to press 2 for reservations, but pressing 2 had no effect. The robot recording just kept talking. Holding the line also did not work; the robot just repeated herself. I called a second and a third time, with the same result. So I could not reach anyone at Going Green's phone number. Then I wrote an e-mail to Going Green customer service asking them to please advise how I might reserve with them in such a way that I would know what the charges were going to be, at least approximately. This is what I received as an auto-reply: "Thank you for contacting Going Green Limousine. Please note, due to an overwhelming amount of email received, replies may take up to 48 hours. Therefore, if this is about a reservation, please call the office at 773-295-5959 or visit us online at http://www.goinggreenlimousine.com where you can get an instant rate, request a quote, or make a reservation. If you do not receive a reply within 48 hours, your email may not have been received due to spam filters. Please call our main line or try again." Needless to say, this was enough for me, and I decided to go with another service. read more

I would definitely use this service again. We went to Chicago with our 14 month old and did not want to bring our car seat. We selected this company based on their reviews. They had lower rates than their competitors. It's obviously not as cheap as using Uber, but their service plus not having to bring a car seat on the plane was well worth it. The only way it could have been better was of they could have teleported us to\from the airport. The booking process was really easy, with prices right in line with 2 other places I checked. Plus, having payment upfront meant, we didn't have to worry about any transaction (including tip) on the day of. Our drivers were both a few minutes early and very friendly. The driver was very nice and extremely professional. The SUV limo was very clean with leather seats and had full water bottles available for us to drink in the cup holders. I can't say this service was better than other services I have used. I have been lucky and not had any bad limo experiences thanks to yelp. I did like the green concept but, was a bit disappointed by the price and understand that you are not necessarily getting a limo so it is a different kind of experience. My friend and I were picked up in a small sedan which was fine by me. The staff on the phone and drivers were very nice. Whoever took the order wrote the credit card wrong so they had to call me back after the fact to charge me. The were very nice about it. read more
