Lots of bushes, beautiful farm, cool chickens (a lot of them, off to the side of the field), cute cat, bee hives off to the side, old machinery - honestly just a gorgeous setting. It starts in July. Short window. The blueberries get spayed in spring and then no more. Wear big repellent if you are sensitive but there were very few bugs and an occasional bee. The woman who runs and owns the farm was very informative. Good honest farming at its best. They have three varieties of blueberry bush. Highly recommend you leave the earbuds at home and enjoy the zen of picking blueberries. They only cost about $2.35 a lb and I can't wait to make a pie. My secret is lemon juice and a little nutmeg. Omg, what a deal! We used to go to The Blueberry Patch (which has since closed and sold the land)…read more But Mike's is so much closer to the center of town if you stay in New Buffalo. We picked 8 pounds for less than $20!!! They really could charge double and people would still pay. We don't get the experience of picking our own fruit in major metropolitan areas so the experience is all part of the fun. There are tons of bushes, we wanted to go back on Monday before leaving town but it's their closed day.

A great experience and great value…read more The pricing for unpick is less than what you'd generally pay for blueberries at the grocery store. That's a winner in itself. The property is expensive and the staff was welcoming and told us where to go for the best batch at that time. Not all berries ripen at the same time. I went the weekend of July 4th and it was rather tame around 9am when I arrived. (No queue). But after finishing the pick, it was quite long queue as they weigh. Credit card is extra 3% fee. If you bring your own container to bring home it'll be cheaper as you use their white buckets to pick and weigh, but you need a container to take home. They do sell 5lb and 10lb boxes to take home for a nominal fee (I think it was $1-2)

We wore rain boots to keep our feet from getting muddy/sandy. Wear a hat, apply sunscreen and / or bug spray & pick until your heart is content. Once you get back from the field, you get your berries weighed, you pay & you're all set. They have bathrooms in the parking area, plenty of picnic tables, & accept credit cards for payment.

My sister and I had the best day at Anderson Flower Farm! This flower farm felt magical…read more Upon arriving, we were greeted by the Flower Farmer and owner -Lois - and the Farm owner -Don. This farm is family owned and you can tell that they put so much love into this business. It's a beautiful thing to see. Lois and Don explained to us how picking at their farm works and what sort of flowers and greenery we should pick. You have the option between at $35 bucket (the largest picking bucket) a $25 bucket and they have $5 buckets for kids. We went with the $35 bucket and it was huge. They taught us how long the stems need to be and to use the garden shears to cut the stems at an angle. Then they let us roam free to pick! We were there bright and early at 9AM and we were the only customers so we had the farm to ourselves. We spent the next hour and a half picking flowers and greenery. It was so peaceful and beautiful on their farm. When we were finished we went back up to the counter. Lois taught us about some of the different flowers we picked and answered any questions we had. We paid, and then we were on our way! When we got home we arranged our bouquets. We were able to get 4 bouquets out of all of our flowers which was awesome! Be sure to bring your own bucket for transporting the flowers! They provide the picking buckets, but you definitely need one for transport. We had SO much fun at the flower farm. I can't wait to return later in the summer. I HIGHLY recommend checking out this amazing family owned business, it's something special!
