I stopped by Gold Brew Coffee Bar one Saturday morning on my way to my son's event nearby. Parking can be challenging at this shopping center, however, I circled the complex and was able to find plenty of open spots behind the building. I was greeted upon entering. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The coffee shop was fairly busy, with a steady flow of traffic. The space offers ample seating and seems like a good spot to work or study. I ordered my go-to drink, an oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon powder as well as a breakfast burrito. The drink came out a few minutes later, but the burrito took a while. I think I was in there for about 15 minutes or longer. Not sure if this is standard wait time for their food items or if they were overwhelmed as I only saw two gentlemen working. And I was kind of in a rush, so it made me more aware of how long it was taking. I enjoyed my latte and burrito which came with a nice dipping sauce. With specialty lattes starting at $6.50 for a large and a decent-sized breakfast burrito for $9.50, I felt the prices were reasonable.
Staff is very friendly and the shop has a cute vibe to it. The sandwich was ok, I did add the hash-brown to it but they are a bit mushy. The bread was also very tough to bit into: the coffee was great and tasty very good. They only have 12oz and 16oz which is still a good amount of coffee. Other than the sandwich not being my favorite this place was very tasty and staff was super friendly. Would recommend and I will be back but might try something different.
I met up with a few gals at this coffee shop on a weekend afternoon. Parking nearby was full so we had to park on the west side of the shopping center, not a bad walk. The place wasn't too busy when we arrived so we ordered and grabbed our seats. The barista was great and handled everyone's orders in a timely and friendly manner. I got a medium Arnold Palmer since I already had coffee that morning. I debated getting food but decided to get one of their blueberry pop tarts since their pastries all looked good. Our drinks and my pastry were delivered to our table which was a nice touch. My drink was refreshing and just what I wanted. The tart was delicious and I liked that it came on a glass plate with a metal fork, yay sustainability. Other folks came into the cafe, mainly parents/guardians and their little ones since there is a cute play area in the corner. So it can get loud with child noises but it was fine! We enjoyed our meetup here and I'm glad I tried this place.
I stopped by here on a Thursday earlier this month with my wife, twins and in laws for our morning coffee. Whenever we go on vacation, we like to hit up local coffee shops and on this day we went to Gold Brew Coffee bar. This shop is located in a strip mall fairly close to the 202. It was fairly spacious inside with a place to order and then had both indoor and outdoor seating. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a large hot gingerbread cookie latte while my wife went with a small iced nutcracker and my mother in law went with a hot cappuccino. The menu described my drink as gingerbread, cookie butter and vanilla and my wife's as macadamia, hazelnut and white chocolate. After only a short wait I had our coffees and headed back to the car. My coffee here tasted pretty good as it was ginger forward with a nice rich finish of coffee on the backend. My wife also enjoyed her coffee and especially liked the macadamia nut flavor in it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. My wife and I both enjoyed our coffees and I would be interested in trying more of their seasonal flavors.
This is such a cute little coffee shop. I ordered the heart of gold latte and it was delicious. I also got a cheeky little apple turnover which was equally delightful. I like that its more dimly lit for a calmer vibe. However, I do not recommend this place for studying/working because there are not that many spots to sit. The staff was lovely and sweet. I definitely will be back. Thank you!
They have specialty lattes, seasonal ones too, smoothies, lemonades, tamales, breakfast sandwiches, gelato cookie sandwiches, and baked goods. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was extremely friendly and nice! We enjoyed the Blueberry Basil Lemonade the most. The Green Chicken Chile tamale was great. The Pistachio Latte definitely needed more pistachio. The Chicken Chipotle tamale was good but needed more chipotle.
So on the fence here about what I want to say and such. I've wanted to check out Good Brew for a while, but not in the area often. So yesterday when I found myself nearby I took a detour off the freeway and stopped by. First impression was the parking lot was insane. Very, very busy and had a hard time finding a space. I did a circle around the lot and lucked out with a spot right in front with a sign that said 15 minute parking. When I walked inside I was instantly greeted. The guy working was very personable and we chatted for a moment. I ordered my go to cold brew with hwc and sf vanilla. I also got excited because I saw pastries from suss pastry so I picked up a pop tart. They are my fave and I get them often from another local shop. The shop its self was small, but was set up great and even had a few people working on their laptops. There were a few great seating options and I chose an area to get cozy and wait for my drink so I could get back on the road. My drink was made quickly and my pop tart bagged with a napkin and fork as well. I appreciated that. My drink looked good and I couldn't wait to try it. Unfortunately this is where it went t down for me. The first sip wasn't good. I thought maybe the whipping cream wasn't mixed well so I stirred it and got in the car because I had to make it to another area soon. As I was driving I tried a few more did and again not good. If I could describe the taste I'd say sour, a bit bitter but just tasted off. It was undrinkable for me and I had to throw it out. I was so bummed. I regret not staying a bit longer so I could've ordered something else etc. I'll try again and be hopeful it was just an off day for the cold brew, but it was horrible. I've decided on three starts for service, pastries and the shop itself had a great vibe .
Came in for some coffee in passing through AZ. The food menu looked yummy but unfortunately the one thing I wanted they were out so that was disappointing being so early in the day. The coffee was just ok for me. I got their honey Bun with oak milk. Nothing special really. Tasted almost watered down which of course it wasn't. My husband got a peanut butter and banana toast he really enjoyed it. Coffee shop is cute and modern but not super big. Employees working were both nice and helpful and appreciated their help when choosing what to ordered. Just missed the mark for me personally and then not having food so early was a bummer.
I was in need of caffeine and decided to check out Small Town Coffeehouse. It was pretty easy to find as it's one of the front buildings in the complex. I was greeted quickly with a smile. I opted for an iced speedy tortoise which is white mocha, caramel and English toffee. The flavor was great and the beans were not bitter. The prices are on point too! I'll definitely stop in again and try out a pastry and their other coffee selections!

Was on my way to a Pure Barre class and I was running early. Saw this cute coffee shop on my right when I immediately pulled into the shopping plaza. So I parked at front of Pure Barre ie my final destination and walked on over to this place. They have little tables outside do you can enjoy the fresh air with your coffee. As I open the door I see a sticker for Yelp. I head on our to the register and place my order fir a cappuccino the smallest is 12 ounces still a little to large for me. Note they do not take cash so I pay by card on a tablet. After I place my order I see this glass dome with these ginormous cheese danishes. So I order one of these as well and pay again. I inquire if they are made on the premises and they are not. She did heat it up for me and it made it oh so delicious. I took my items outside to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Note the cappuccino was not great. I actually preferred my cappuccino yesterday morning at Starbucks for several reasons 1. The espresso beans used was distinct but truthfully I am an Illy lover which this is clearly not. 2. My cappuccino at Starbucks actually costs less. 3. This truly had too much milk instead it should be a shot of espresso and frothed milk. Great place my drink didn't do it for me however I would gladly come back and try a different drink maybe tea if I am ever back in Arizona again. read more

Pretty good coffee shop. The employee was really nice and helping us choose a drink we liked. They have teas, lattes & frappes. They also have cookies and brownies and other food in the fridge and protein bars. It's super cute and cozy inside. read more

I was in town visiting for work and I wanted to find a cozy spot to grab coffee and a quick breakfast. I saw the reviews for this coffee bar and decided to give it a try, I was intrigued by the tamales. When I made it to Gold Brew Coffee Bar I was greeted by friendly staff. The coffee bar was on the smaller side but quaint and quiet. When I try a new coffee place I tend to order a plain cold brew to check out the quality of the beans. I wanted to try out the tamales, but they were all sold out, which is a little disappointing. So I ended up ordering a cold brew and an avocado toast. Everything that I ordered came out quickly, which was nice. The avocado toast was presented really nicely, and tasted good but had far too many micro-greens on it. I was not so impressed with the cold brew. There was an interesting aftertaste, and for the quality of the beans/brew I felt as though it was a bit overpriced. There seemed to be other options on the menu for coffees, teas and pastries. Maybe it's better to give those a try. I seemed to hear a few people order their Matcha Sunrise. read more
Right next to midwestern university. I like the plaza it is located in a nice plaza called citadelle. This place is close to my work so I like to grab a bite, a coffee for an afternoon pick me up during my lunch break. I like that they allow me to sit inside during the hot summer during the pandemic because I need to go somewhere for my 1 hr work lunch and get out of the office!! Small Town Coffeehouse is an unassuming little place visible from 59th Ave two block south of 101 freeway. They have big selection of coffee drinks and very intimate dining area where people sit to catch up or do some work on their laptops. There are plenty of outlets to plug in your devices and games on the tables to play. They also have a giant chalk board wall with chalks for guests to doodle on. The best part was my drink. I was in the mood for something sweet so I opted for soy mocha. It wasn't too sweet, just perfectly sweet enough to satisfy my cravings. I ordered a medium which came in a huge cup but managed to sip til I saw the bottom of the cup. What a wonderful place to hang out. Personally I think 8am is too late of an opening time on weekends for a coffee shop. On top of that, I got there at 8am and they didn't open the doors until 8:05am. But, the shop is cute and my coffee was good. Other things is I feel the barstools should be changed into something more comfortable and I didn't notice any Wifi at this place, something a coffee shop should have. read more

Amazing coffee shop! I got their honey lavender matcha and avocado toast, both were amazing. Although it is bit of a far drive from me, i am definitely going back to get the matcha! The service was amazing, both workers were very kind. The shop has an almost rustic, yet cozy vibe- overall great ambience of the place! read more

Great coffee shop. Espresso machine was being worked on when we arrived, so we got to choose from many other selections of coffee. Dh tried the CDB cold brew. He loved it. A friend tried the same sweetened with MilkyWay flavoring. She loved it as well. Me being caffeine intolerant choose hot chocolate made with almond milk. All were good. We got to try a muffin as well. Blueberry muffin was the muffin of the afternoon. Not too sweet but very delicious. Dh will be back when espresso machine is running. read more

A beautiful and pleasant lady greeted me and helped me pick out a coffee. I went out of my comfort zone getting a lavender and (I believe) honey coffee. It was surprisingly good and different from the everyday cup of joe. I ended up throwing in a hatch & jack tamale to go. Holy cow....super delicious!!! Huge and a full meal. Quiet and private ambience for studying or small talk with a friend. I absolutely recommend this cafe. read more

Dropped by Small Town Coffeehouse on a Saturday morning for a quick coffee break. The place was busy, but not extremely crowded. In terms of drinks, there are a plethora of options to choose from. There are coffee drinks, tea drinks, smoothies, and etc. They have all your regular lattes and mochas, but also offer a menu of signature drinks which include different combinations of flavors. Typically, my go to drink is a latte or a vanilla latte so I ordered a french kiss which includes vanilla, caramel, and mocha. The drink itself was good and the price was fair. However, it was a bit on the lukewarm side when it came out. I prefer to get my coffee piping hot so that it still has some heat after a few minutes. There are outlets in here if you are in the mood to study and there is a giant wall of chalk art that will captivate you during your coffee break or study session. Overall, this place is a cute coffee shop that has a lot of potential. I will most likely drop by in the future and try other drinks. Midwestern University students do get a discount so look into that if you are interested! :) read more
I walked in and just loved it. Awesome place to have quite study time. With a wonderful music . Gosh I just simply love this small cafe. The girl in front name is Kaylee and she is wow. She has such a good vibe , one of those places that u just want to get back for getting good energy, good coffee, good food . They have such wow collection of coffee the one that u be like wow I wanna try this and that and that and that ... They have a wonderful selection of smoothies and sandwiches. Their price is amazing , affordable and the spot so cute , love the smell of coffee and hey the music is something wonderful here . The decoration is so different, cozy and you can feel the place is local . You would just wanna be there study have your coffee , read your book or have one by one conversation with your best friend with your date. Such a cute place! The barista immediately greeted me as I entered through the door. Ironically, he was yelping prior to my entrance. I decided I would write a little review regarding what a wonderful job he did. First off, he was very friendly and patient, allowing me to slowly soak in the menu since it was my first time here. Secondly, he took a good amount of time chatting about the popular drinks here upon my inquiry. I settled for a medium iced caramel creme latte. It was pretty good in my books - not the best of the best, yet fairly delicious. I'm definitely planning to return and try the Russian Chai. I love that this place is right across from Midwestern University. This makes it super convenient for students to drop by and get their daily dose of caffeine. It's a great place to study - plenty of tables around with a very quiet/relaxing ambience. I came here around 10:30am, and parking wasn't a big issue in the small lot. I can see how parking can be difficult to find once Zipps, located across from the coffeehouse, opens at 11AM. I highly recommend stopping by if you're tired of Starbucks and Coffee Bean that's around the area. read more

This was such a great coffee shop! My boyfriend and I are visiting from L.A. and love to try new coffee spots. This was such an original coffee shop with a homemade feel. The employees were inviting and kind, and recommended some drinks for us. They have a ton of different options, it's so hard to choose. We tried the Harry Potter and Bob Marley; both were flavorful and delicious! We'll definitely visit again before we go back home because it was just that good. read more
At first, I saw the menu and I was thinking this was just gonna be another one of those places with super sweet drinks and bad espresso but I was sooo wrong! I ordered an Iced Nutty Hawaiian, but half sweet, and it was sooo good. I literally wanted to come back the next day because of all the other options. My husband ordered and Iced Harry Potter but not half sweet and I promise if it ws half sweet it would have been my fav. Both of his siblings loved their drinks too. Cute coffee shop locally owned. The Barista while cute was very slow and the drinks not well made. Could use a bit more training in that area because it should be hard to mess up coffee. Since we always require an afternoon pick me up and get tired of chains, it will do. read more

What are we even talking about here. Is it under new ownership because the place I went cannot get the reviews I have read. The walls were bare. Freshly painted maybe? The gentleman making coffee seemed to be the manager or possibly owner. He made my vanilla mocha breve like a heavy. You can taste the difference. And the woman taking my order I think was his partner, she had lots to gossip with him about and knew very little about coffee or the business it appeared. She had to ask him a number or questions that I thought should have been basic knowledge for an employee. I bought pastries too because I saw they carry the same pop tarts as another coffeehouse I go to. I asked her not to toast them but she did and to top it off they were stale. I assume that's why she toasted them. Anyway I won't go back. It's not an inviting shop, nor is it an inviting location as parking can be very difficult. read more
