Great coffee and bites! The shop is also a great place to study, work, or hang out. The staff is very friendly. When you arrive, you will need to park in the back (next to the Glendale Courthouse). There should be a rear entrance to The Black Sheep from the parking lot. I recommend the pesto provolone sandwich with turkey and a side of their chipotle sauce. Coming from Seattle, I have been heavily disappointed in most of the coffee I've had in Arizona. This place is one of the few that we've actually liked! We got a vanilla latte (with vanilla cold foam) and a brown sugar honey and cinnamon latte (with cookie butter cold foam). Both were really good. I've been working at coffee shops this week and thought i'd be coffee out. But The Black Sheep is incredible. Nestled in Downtown Glendale, this is an open space with great coffee and even better service. I ordered an iced The Emily- Salted Caramel Latte with Irish Cream Cold Foam. It was the perfect weekday pick me up. It had the warm sweetness of the caramel and irish cream that's cut by the salt and coffee flavor. Cute spot to stop in. The staff are all super sweet and they remember my name and order now which is fun It's not the FASTEST cup of coffee you'll ever get but it might be the best! This lil coffee shop is in the heart of downtown Glendale and I had no idea? Wow!! Such a cute cafe with homey vibes and amazing staff! You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in and the menu seems to change often based on the baristas choices! How fun to be creative with the drinks. So far I've really enjoyed all of Jazz's creations like the Mexican Mocha Latte and Horchata Latte. The valentines menu was by far a favorite of mine! Strawberry matcha was delicioso!! For food I have only tried the chicken pesto panini press. Amazingly good and definitely ask for the chipotle side if you order this. I've been lucky to park in the spots near the entrance, I'm not certain if there is extra in the back. Found a new go to cafe for whenever I'm in Glendale. I came here last Monday for my first time and I would like to try this place out again. The first time I didn't fully explore the menu or place but just by looking it, I can see myself returning here and fully enjoying the atmosphere. I order an iced coffee with a chocolate chip cookie. Immediately when I walked in I loved the decor , very urban black & white art on the walls . The girl at the cash register was so welcoming and kind and informative when I had questions about what were the ingredients in the sandwiches. They all wore smiles which made me smile and I just knew I was in the right place of comfort . What I ordered . Wanted to try something new then my usual I get from other shops . The abby was what grabbed my attention, which included ; notes of toffee nut & hazel nut syrup with replacement of oat milk instead of dairy milk . I also ordered a chocolate muffin which they warmed up for me , as well as the turkey & provolone sandwich which had ; tomato, provolone cheese , jalapeño, pickles , Mayo and Turkey grilled . So yummy ! Highly recommend . Ambiance I'd have to say dark in the inside ( they have big windows up front ) but still dark inside not too bright . but I bet a vibe during the evening is superb. My most favorite part of all was when you head to the back patio there's walls of old school records and cassette tapes along the walls as well as the bathroom . love that this coffee shop has an extension to it , you don't have to sit inside you can chill outside and vibe and they also play really great music . Alright my honest review of this place. Good AND bad... I've been here around 30-40 times in my last few years of living in Glendale. I'll start with this is probably one of the best spots we have in our area and in the downtown district. Arrowhead and up north of here has some solid spots so this is kinda a neighborhood gem, and we are grateful they're here doing well. The atmosphere is great, plenty of area to spread out and hang/play games with friends, study/read, or just enjoy a coffee. However on that note - sometimes the music is really loud and not relaxing so I've had times I've come to study and had to cut it short. It's safer of a place to socialize and catch up with a friend or bring a date! As for the coffee it's very consistent - 5/5. They rotate their "specials" and most I've tried were good - some better than others. But it does make it fun they try different things so you can try new coffees instead of ordering the same latte every time. Not bad pricing overall but they do kinda charge for every modification like most places. Overall my peers and I agree their coffee is really good and it's a great spot to hit and bring visitors. Now time for the only reason this place did not get 5 stars - their customer service and staff is a solid 3/5. Like I've said - my gf and I have been here 30-40 times and have seen the owner and many of her baristas multiple times. I don't think once she or any of the staff has ever recognized us, said hi, asked how we've been, or tried to get to know us or anyone we've brought. We aren't some Karen's who think we need to be treated differently/special. But when you've continuously supported a place and the staff never cares to recognize their semi "regulars" or simply ask how you're doing - it gets old. One time the owner asked if it's our first time and we wanted to laugh because we've seen her at least 20 times, but we politely said no we've been here quite a few times. We've been to coffee shops only a couple times where owner/staff recognizes us as repeated customers and gives some sort of respect/appreciation. But I get it, we aren't that remarkable or memorable of human beings so it's okay LOL. The baristas here are all young like us but never too polite. In fact we sometimes even feel like a bother when we modify or ask questions. Today I said thanks twice to the barista and she didn't even say a word back to me - it was just awkward. We are at a crossroads where we want to support local but get treated more second-rate than we do at Starbucks honestly. I hope the owner takes this review into consideration as the customer service is the ONLY thing lacking at this amazing place she's done a great job building up! The best way I can describe Black Sheep, is it's your local neighborhood quality coffee where you get treated like another corporation (Starbucks, Dunkin, etc.). Others' experience likely varies drastically from mine as they probably feel more acknowledged as a customer, but we've just had trouble feeling at "home" here like we do at our other local bars/restaurants. This is just how we feel at this point in time. We will keep coming back for sure but it was time to leave a sincere review - 4 stars overall! read more

The interior of the bred was a bit soft for my liking and got soggy as the toppings absorbed. I think if it had been toasted a bit longer it would have been perfect. I also ordered the small fig salad, and I'm really glad I got the small! It was a good size in my opinion. The toppings of crunchy pancetta and sliced figs was a great blend of sweet and savory. Customer service could use a lot of work , the cashier was the only one to say sorry for the inconvenience this morning. I order the Jazz coffee that was on the menu, they were busy not crazy , one person making the drinks who was not going by cup line because she passed my cup like 3 times, a gentleman order the wrong coffee and instead of making him wait until they finished the rest of the order the waitress just jump the line and said oh can you make this coffee again the customer order it wrong, she passes me a couple of time never ask if I was okay or if I need to order.
