PLEASE COME HERE!! They make their apple cider donuts TO ORDER so they come out piping hot…read more Everything on their menu is homemade! We also got their corn dog and hot link corn dog to try, as well as their hot apple cider. I don't even like cake donuts, but something about a freshly made HOT donut will do something to you!! It was SO soft, hot, and had a good amount of cinnamon to it which I really appreciated. Get your own and don't share, you've been warned! The corn dog batter is delicious! Crispy on the outside and ever so slightly doughy on the inside while still being chewy and soft--it was so good! Not to mention the actual hot dog tasted like it was all beef, not sure if it was, but it definitely wasn't a Bar-S hot dog if you know what I mean! The hot link corn dog was my FAVORITE. Had a GREAT snap when bitten into and had a very small kick to it. I wish it was spicier but that's okay! I love a good corn dog. The hot apple cider was on the sweeter side, it was good on that chilly day but I most likely wouldn't get it again next time because it was a bit too sweet. You have to stop by Rainbow Orchards. Line moves fast and service is great. Also the trees everywhere make a great photo opportunity!

My 11 year old daughter and I came to the Ferry Building for a fun Mom and daughter morning. We hit the Rainbow Orchards stand first, for what was my first and sure to be last visit. We waited to the side while a customer who was there before us was helped, chatting about how much to get. That customer left, and he took the elderly guy who came after us first - no big deal. Then it was our turn and I asked him for 5 dollars worth and handed him a 20. I had 4 singles and a 20, and the choices were either 5 dollars worth, 8 dollars worth, or another amount I can't recall. He told my shy daughter snakily "Don't grow up to be a person who comes to the Farmer's Market and doesn't have exact change." It felt out of line for him to address her in that way. And, he's already complained about me not having exact change. Hey, either sell us the blueberries or don't, but were not here to be a sponge for your anger. So, I observed flatly, well, we don't have to buy anything. And he said, "yes, you do, because I already have your money." Okay, so another aggressive and weird response. I reached out to get the bag of blueberries, since evidently he was giving me no choice other than to buy them, and he backed up so they would be out of my reach. It was like the 4th rude thing he did that was unprovoked. I managed to get the bag and walk away, but he did ruin a chunk of our sweet trip to the Farmer's Market. I wonder how many shoppers had to deal with absorbing his hostility that day.

Genuinely thought it was going to be all hype - it's not! Share the walking apple pie between 2-4…read morepeople, it's more than enough! Got there at 4pm, they closed at 5pm that day. Only waited about 5 minutes until we ordered! Not sure why it's called a "walking apple pie" since you could really walk with any pie, sliced or whole. The crust on this was ever so slightly flaky while still having a good amount of doughiness that made it soft and enjoyable to eat. It wasn't too thick either which is what I assumed it would be! There is also an insane amount of apple inside, sliced on the thinner side but not overcooked at all. NOT skimpy, good cinnamon flavor and VERY delicious! I'm not even a fan of apple pie, so I was shocked I actually liked it! The vanilla ice cream on top definitely made the entire thing even more enjoyable--if I were to get this again I'd make sure to get an extra scoop. The contrast between the piping hot apple pie and the cold ice cream was so addicting and sweet in the best way. We also got the pumpkin cheesecake. I'd pass on this. Didn't have much of a pumpkin flavor and I felt like the cheesecake was lacking overall. The graham cracker crust is buttery and soft which I appreciated, and they top the cheesecake with what tasted like a sugar crumble on top which I also liked. Overall the cheesecake was creamy and smooth but nothing special. I wouldn't get this again, simply for the fact that if you're labeling something as "pumpkin cheesecake" and the first word is pumpkin, I want to be punched in the face with pumpkin flavor, however my friend did enjoy it because he loves cheesecake. Service was great, the views were phenomenal. They also have real bathrooms here. Definitely stop by!

The views are amazing and the ambience and staff are top tier! They offer tasting flights and wine by the glass and also had a charcuterie box for purchase. Amongst the four of us, we shared a cider flight, one glass of wine, a walking pie and a charcuterie box -- it was absolute perfection! Can't wait to come back next year!

A good spot to stop if you're hungry and thirsty during your Apple Hill visit. Larsen has an apple…read morebarn, museum, small picnic area, and bake shop on the property. The friendly demeanor of the apple sampler in the barn cancelled out the bad attitude of the lady who sold us food in the bake shop. Still did not appreciate my friend being talked to like that but I guess that is what happens when the peppy no filter clashes with the grumpy no filter. Anyway, bake shop purchased yummies including veggie dog and pumpkin cookie were both very good, and I appreciated being able to pick up a pint of apple cider to go. They offer many other things at the bake shop such as turnovers, pies, cookies, additional desserts I don't feel like listing, sandwiches, and beverages. The apple barn smelled amazing, and we got to try a bunch of apple slices. I had never tried a mutsu apple or Arkansas black apple before and both were delicious and interesting. Mutsu is a golden delicious bred with a granny smith and the Arkansas black is thicc in texture/skin and sort of has a caramel sweetness to it. We liked sitting outside at the picnic tables and playing PoGo. Thought about heading over to the museum to look around but there was a hat cultist inside so neither of us felt like spoiling our day with that kind of aura iykyk. Maybe next time. You know what they say about one bad apple. Leave it on the ground, the rest will be just fine. Extra parking across the street but be so careful crossing the street. I did not notice any vegan options to confirm either way, but they do have many vegetarian friendly snack and meal options. Prices are reasonable for the area. My veggie dog was $8 and came with chips, and my pint of apple cider was $4.

They even allow dogs, so bring along the fur babies as well. The ranch is open every Saturday and Sunday from May to December. Parking and admission is free. They serve local beers, wine, hard cider, nonalcoholic flavored lemonades, and their famous apple cider milkshake. There is a food grill selling hot dogs and burgers. There's even a petting zoo. $8 to pet baby calves, small ponies, and the such. $4 additional for a feed cup. There is a large grassy lawn to throw down a towel or bring your own chairs, relax. Plus I gotta mention that they have no plumbed restrooms, they have porta toilets and portable handwashing stations. Not a deal breaker for me. Just letting y'all know. Every weekend, they have live music. We went on a night that Nikki Perez was singing. Happy happenstance. Man, she's a talent!! Look her up on IG. Around the stage there are Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. Saturday 10am-7pm Sunday 10am-5pm Later in the year, they'll open the u pick apple orchard in late August; then the pumpkin patch in late September; and then the tree farm in late November. Those seasonal events have additional children's activities. So much fun!Check out their IG and social media for the current happenings.

September 20, 2025 - Placerville, CA…read more We came for the handblown glass pumpkin patch and the day's festivities, which were advertised to include free popcorn and live glassblowing demonstrations. Wanting to beat the crowds, we arrived a little before 10 a.m. and found parking quickly after discovering an additional parking lot. I've started a tradition of picking up one glass pumpkin each year, but this time I left with two--thanks to my husband's suggestion. The selection of pumpkins was beautiful, as always. We didn't see the popcorn or the glassblowing demos, though in fairness we may have been too early. Instead, we tried the Pineapple Ginger Hard Cider, which was delicious. Since we didn't want a full pour, we asked about a smaller size. The server showed us a half-glass, which was perfect, but we later realized we'd been charged for a full drink anyway. By the time we left around 10:30, cars were lined up down the road waiting to get into the lot. Parking definitely seemed limited for such a popular event. Judging from the lines outside other Apple Hill venues as well, my advice is to avoid weekends if you can--or at least plan to arrive early.
