Pine-O-Mine Ranch is in Apple Hill is a super cool place to hang and chill with the kiddos or make it an outing just with the adults. Family friendly vibes. They even allow dogs, so bring along the fur babies as well. The ranch is open every Saturday and Sunday from May to December. Parking and admission is free. They serve local beers, wine, hard cider, nonalcoholic flavored lemonades, and their famous apple cider milkshake. There is a food grill selling hot dogs and burgers. There's even a petting zoo. $8 to pet baby calves, small ponies, and the such. $4 additional for a feed cup. There is a large grassy lawn to throw down a towel or bring your own chairs, relax. Plus I gotta mention that they have no plumbed restrooms, they have porta toilets and portable handwashing stations. Not a deal breaker for me. Just letting y'all know. Every weekend, they have live music. We went on a night that Nikki Perez was singing. Happy happenstance. Man, she's a talent!! Look her up on IG. September 20, 2025 - Placerville, CA We came for the handblown glass pumpkin patch and the day's festivities, which were advertised to include free popcorn and live glassblowing demonstrations. Wanting to beat the crowds, we arrived a little before 10 a.m. and found parking quickly after discovering an additional parking lot. I've started a tradition of picking up one glass pumpkin each year, but this time I left with two--thanks to my husband's suggestion. The selection of pumpkins was beautiful, as always. We didn't see the popcorn or the glassblowing demos, though in fairness we may have been too early. Instead, we tried the Pineapple Ginger Hard Cider, which was delicious. Since we didn't want a full pour, we asked about a smaller size. The server showed us a half-glass, which was perfect, but we later realized we'd been charged for a full drink anyway. By the time we left around 10:30, cars were lined up down the road waiting to get into the lot. Parking definitely seemed limited for such a popular event. Judging from the lines outside other Apple Hill venues as well, my advice is to avoid weekends if you can--or at least plan to arrive early. read more

It was my first time at this spot in Apple Hill and I don't know how I've missed it before. We tried the cider flights and I enjoyed the pineapple ginger cider. The red colored cider (I believe it was cranberry flavored) was also good. I wasn't a fan of the shandy (cider mixed with beer) and the dry cider. We came here for some apple picking and had a good experience! We were here on a Monday which is much better than the craziness on a fall weekend. However, we expected them to have food based on what we read online but they don't have the grill open on weekdays. They have a big lawn area with Adirondack chairs where we enjoyed hanging out with our baby. You pay an entrance fee per person and then pay by the pound for apples you pick. Despite how many orchards there are in Apple Hill, there's really not that many where you can pick your own apples. They had plenty of rows of trees full of apples for us to pick here which was a lot of fun! My favorites were the Granny Smith apples. Walked up and asked if they were grilling today, responded Smash burger or hot dogs. I ordered a Smash Burger with cheese and onions. While I waited, I ordered the cider flight and added the shanty for $2. Staff were friendly, ciders were really good, smash burger was really good. We went for apple picking on Saturday afternoon in late September. It is $5 per person for entrance fee and $3.75/lb of apple that you pick. The apple picking area was not too crowded. However, most of the apples were picked and only the smaller ones remained. At the end we paid $16 for the apple (which was pretty expensive for a little over 4lb). Lots of people with young kids were hanging out in the picnic area while enjoying food & the live music. The singer had a very good voice and we enjoyed it very much. I bought the apple cider shakes and it was a good treat in a hot day. The bbq smelled good but we didn't try as we had lunch beforehand. Pine-O-Mine was not in my list of farms to visit when I was in Apple Hill. I'd seen it online and thought it looked great, but I'm not much of a drinker so it didn't seem like they had much to offer me. But then I was driving by and it looked so nice. I always figure that reality won't live up to Instagram images, but in this case reality was even better than the pictures. The place just looked so calm and peaceful that I had to stop for a visit. On a weekday afternoon late September there was hardly anyone there. I got a drink, and my dog and I sat out on the lawn and had a glorious, relaxing time. I wish there was more food to focus on, but I had such a nice time reading and just chilling here. Definitely my favorite farm of the day. Would highly recommend. This was my first visit to this Apple Hill stand but I'm not sure that I would return. It was a perfectly nice spot surrounded by beautiful trees and it's housed in a cool barn but there just isn't much to it. The young servers were so friendly. I asked them for their food recommendations. The bartender suggested the hot link that was topped with grilled onions and peppers, which was spicy and tasty. Beer, hard cider, and wine selections were from Solid Ground Brewing and North Canyon Cider Company. I was allowed to taste test 2 hard ciders and 1 wine. I loved the North Canyon's Pineapple Ginger Cider, a refreshing fruity drink with the alcohol barely noticeable. One man by the grill recommended the BBQ smoked mac and cheese, which came in the medium sized plastic container you might get from a grocery store deli. With its blend of cheeses, the mac and cheese is actually from Costco, but smoking it over the BBQ elevated it. That night, the BBQ grilled with oak chips, but Pine-O-Mine also smokes with applewood. Sometimes, the menu will include mac and cheese with tri tip. I was not allowed to order it off menu, but I saw another woman customer at the grill ask for it. I suspect the menu changes frequently. You order at the bar then go outside to the other side of the bar's wall to pick up your food from the grill. You hand them your receipt and don't get it back, so make sure to look at it or take a picture of it. One employee took his break inside a cute 2-seater Off-Highway Vehicle called a Polaris Ranger. As he answered my questions about the cool mini dump truck, a little boy wanted to climb inside to join him, but he wasn't allowed, of course! Only Port-A-Potties here. I think there were at least 4 of them. There is one sink with running water with liquid soap, hand sanitizer, and paper towels. It's along the trees on one edge of the parking lot that is closest to the wall with the bar/grill. Walk in the direction opposite to where the main road is...south, maybe? You can buy attractively designed Pine-O-Mine logo merchandise inside the barn. Pine-O-Mine was the perfect farm or rodeo setting out of a storybook or a Broadway musical. Every-time we make the trip, we see the cute little barn but never stop. This trip, with the crowds up the road, we circled back for a quick lunch. The service was really good, very attentive. Great brews and even better atmosphere. They had a spectacular black lager and the IPA was smooth. Heading back home after leaving Boa Vista Orchards. Saw a band playing and noticed there was a small crowd, made a U-turn and went here. They served BBQ and they had a massive smoker. It's the first day of fall and that means apples and warm spices and hard cider. The space is this beautiful barn with lights strung all along the property. But what really caught my eye at the bar was the apple shandy. This refreshing summer concoction ushered in fall for me. The cup was rimmed with the raw honey sold onsite and a salt sugar mix that gave the drink a savory note. The base of the drink was apple cider and it was mixed with one of their pilsners on tap. Nothing is as juicy as a fresh picked apple and in most cases, apples at the grocery will never compare. When biting into fresh picked apples, it is so fresh that apple juice trickles down your arms. These apples, along with all the other apples on the hill, are notorious for making some of the best apple cider ever. In addition to the freshest apples, I love showing the kids where our food comes from and how much work farmers put into nourishing people. Usually, we love to pick our apples at Denver Dan's #14, but this year, we were looking for a new experience. That's when we came to Pine-O-Mine. If you're a parent like me, you'll love Pine-O-Mine because it's a fun yet educational place to take the family. We entered the farm and drove a little ways down before we were met with a bright red barn lined with apple trees and a pumpkin patch. If you've visited High Hill Ranch, this farm will be small in comparison, but don't be fooled, it has a lot of charm. The farm has several of the most popular varieties of apples to pick from- Fuji, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious & Red Delicious. You grab a bag from the barn and return to get them weighed after you've picked your apples. After a fun time hunting for apples, me and my family grabbed a bag of caramel corn from the tent that we overhead people raving about. The caramel corn was delicious and kind of took me back to my childhood, reminding me of Cracker Jacks. Not only was the caramel corn delicious, it was sold by passionate people from a family owned business inspired by their grandma's recipe. The farm also has hot food brought to you by Brawt Envy. Their sausages were fresh, juicy, and delicious. The guys that made our food were down to earth and made our experience much more enjoyable. In accompaniment, we had the mandatory caramel apple milkshake, which never fails. Next time, I have to get the Apple Pie Milkshake which is an apple milkshake with a piece of pie added in. A worker told me how good it was and I was sold at that moment. The farm has great scenery, food, dessert, nice people, pumpkins, U-Pick apples, photo opportunities, scenery and a great and relaxing environment. From now on, it will be added to our list of farms to visit during our trips to Apple Hill. Notes: -Apple Picking is all about timing and weather. Wanting to pick out pumpkins and enjoy the sunny Sunday afternoon in the fall, my boyfriend and I made our way to Apple Hill. As usual, some of the larger places like Boa Vista were way too crowded so we opted to give a smaller farm a try. We found ourselves at Pine O'Mine. They had a decent selection of pumpkins so we chose 2 to take home. They came out to $50 (25 lbs each, $1 per pound I'm assuming). Unfortunately, within a few days one of the pumpkins we picked had rotted (we hadn't even carved it yet). Super bummed. We would have liked to do some apple picking but they were pretty picked over and any apple we did find had holes eaten through them or some sort of rot. Maybe we came too late in the season or something (Oct. 12th), but I was pretty bummed about the apples and the rotten pumpkin. read more

Justin's veggi tacos (vegan if you ask to hold the cheese), special for last weekend, don't attempt to be meat yet satisfy just as well with a perfect blend of hearty flavors and robust texture (including pumpkin seeds). This was one of our stops while we were ranch hopping in Apple Hill this 2021 season. We primarily stopped by since some of our friends wanted the experience of picking your own apples. Apple picking is approx $3.50ish/lb here so don't go too crazy out there. I personally like just purchasing already picked apples at other ranches, it's cheaper at $2/lb and there is a lot more variety to choose from. I'll say Pine-O-Mine is very much a chill bar atmosphere. The main bar has a bar with various beers and ciders on tap. There's a shuffleboard inside and corn hole outside. Lots of lounge and hang out areas both inside the barn and outside. I tried the Apple Cinnamon Shandy which was half apple cider/juice and half beer. A cool concept, but I liked the two drinks better separately. There is food here, but it seems there is no set menu. The weekend I went it was hot dogs, chili, and mashed potatoes - no BBQ. In summary, Pine-O-Mine doesn't have much of a gift shop and only offers apple picking and maybe some frozen goods. It's a chill place to hang out with friends, drink and play some pub games. read more

A barn with a "haunted" sign catching our eye was the invite to Pine O'Mine. When we pulled in we were greeted by a smiling Paul with his signature hat in front of his own little shack. It was the middle of the day, so he explained that his son was off prepping the haunted barn for the weekends it would be open throughout October, and spoke with pride on the project. No haunted house - so apple picking it is! For $30 you get a sturdy green bag to "fill to the brim" with personally picked apples! The variety available was Golden, as the Fuji's are picked away on a very busy Labor Day weekend. Paul insisted the goldens were delicious and encouraged us to bite into one while we were picking to taste the sweetness. They totally were! Once we were well versed in the happenings of the farm, we went into the small little grove to pick. They were some trees picked away that required a hunt for the perfect one and others towards the end of the rows that were still full of apples - tiny lunch sized ones and large ones too! As we proudly showed off our bag to the man with the hat, we saw him encouraging the next families to fill their bags to the brim. This was at the top of my farm list for the day - a small, intimate farm with the delight of getting to pick from the tree.
