I called yesterday afternoon to schedule service. Service was scheduled for 3PM today. Cole arrived an hour ealier, because he was free, and in the neighborhood. 5 minutes after we meet, Cole diagnoses the issue to either the gas solenoids, or the gas to the dryer is shut off. He asks before replacing any parts... Is the gas valve going to the dryer turned on? The gas valve going to the dryer was not turned on. A contractor mistakingly turned that valve off a few days ago. It was worth paying the diagnostic fee, not just because Cole resolved our issue in less time than I can hold my breath, but because I'm not stressing about finding a good appliance repair service anymore.

He tried doing some diagnostic over text, but had to come out and see the refrigerator for himself. He warned that there was a $125 service call fee which we accepted. Miguel came and checked on the fridge only to find out that the compressor was not working. He suggested we purchase a new $700 fridge vs getting a new $900 compressor.
