John handled our loud, crazy group like a pro--kept us on schedule, got us there and back safely, and even went above and beyond by grabbing straws when we forgot them. As someone who usually gets carsick just looking at a moving vehicle, I'm proud to say I didn't feel sick once! Plus, the bus had a bathroom (lifesaver), was super clean, and very comfortable. I gave this company two stars because of the horrible I experience I had with the driver. I was part of a charter that used two of these buses to take us to an event located in the Palm Desert area. On the way there, it was fine. However, coming back, I noticed the driver was agitated and wasn't paying attention. I was sitting in the very front and was not doing anything else, so I was watching him. It was late at night, so I was getting nervous. Nothing really happened, but I still had a very uncomfortable ride. The bus itself was clean and newer, that's why I chose to give this two stars instead of one. read more

My review is for the 47 Passenger Bus, Bus Driver and Overall Experience Our department used Gold Coast Tours for our offsite in November 2013. Our administrative aid initiated the service and since she was no longer with the company, I had to pick up where she left off while we hired a new admin. Anyway, initial conversations with Isela H. were pretty straight forward. She gave me a copy of the invoice and I sent her our schedule. I found that she was slow to respond. I would ask her a few questions and wouldn't see a reply from her until the following week. Their rate was $1,825 for 2 days/1 night with 9% PUC Tax and Fuel Surchage. Total: $1,989.25 (Driver's Gratuity is not included and is optional). I kept asking her for our driver's information and contact number, but we didn't know who the driver was until the day before (late afternoon). She said he would get a copy of our itinerary. I provided a detailed spreadsheet and included times, locations, maps and directions. So there would be no confusion for the driver. We even printed copies out for that morning. We had 2 pick up spots that morning (Monrovia and Rancho Cucamonga) and we were going to be staying overnight in Palm Springs. So... what happens....? He leaves Monrovia and he was supposed to take the 210 freeway to Rancho Cucamonga to pick up 15 people (including myself) and he ends up taking the 57 to the 10 and by the time people realized where they were... the bus was already in Fontana! So everyone is telling him to turn around to head back to Rancho. Everyone thought he was taking the 10 to get off in Rancho instead. Geez, this is already throwing us off schedule. The bus itself is outdated. There's a DVD player in the bus and a restroom. However, there are NO CUP HOLDERS!! Only the front seats have cupholders. I ended up holding my drinks between my feet on the floor. The seats weren't the comfortable and it smelled like fumes inside. The bus driver also made some questionable moves. The one thing I did appreciate about the driver was that he filled up our coolers with ice the next morning. We used another bus company a few years back which I enjoyed a lot better. There is plenty space below for everyone's luggage, TVs and restrooms for a comfortable, clean and safe trip. Most memorially, GCT was a great resource while I was a student athlete in college. After a tiring cross country flight from the East coast, Gold Coast Tours picked up our team/group of 30 people at the airport, helped load all of our luggage and shuttled us to and from our hotel, practices, games and dinners for Southern California NCAA softball tournaments. Just utilized Gold Coast Tours for a weekend AAU Basketball tournament in Oakland where we departed from Rancho Cucamonga. We had 6 teams and 4 sites we played at and while it felt like a logistical nightmare on our end organizing the movement of all the players the drivers and company took great care of us! My friends and I recently chartered a limo bus to San Diego for a Dodgers v Padres contest down at Petco. Our driver was friendly and very flexible. Our group changed the whole schedule halfway into the trip and the driver was very accommodating once he was given authorization. The bus was newer, nice and very clean, interesting decor, but hey, isn't that every limo/bus? The driver was personable, professional and as I stated before very accommodating. I ordered a bus from them for almost $650. They were late for 30 minutes and the bus driver wouldn't pick up her phone at all. Their office kept telling me that the bus would arrive in any minute but that was completely untrue. After I canceled for 10 minutes, the bus driver (Yolanda Monge) called me and was STILL looking for the location. I just returned from a group tour in Los Angeles and while I do not normally like bus tours, this is the best way to get around and see the sites of LA. This was billed as a Rose Bowl Parade tour and it included seeing the Floats being put together (with celebrity Ty Pennington included :-), Reagan Library, Universal Studios, Warrner Brothers Studio tour, PARADE of course and then another tour of the floats up close the day after the parade. I used this service on my grad night for high school and a bus broke down near the town we left from. Instead of sending a new bus for them, they sent back all 10 of our buses to pick up the remaining passengers. But that's not even the most infuriating part. On our way back for the bus we blatantly saw a crash on the other side of the freeway that caused a massive traffic jam. Instead of changing our route to avoid the jam, we took the exact way where the crash was, which delayed us another hour or so. Overall a 2 hour trip took twice as long as it should have. Now, I understand that buses are a fickle piece of machinery, but with a routine checks and a pre-trip checks, I have never once had a bus completely break down on me. Often, bus drivers or a mechanic will be able to fix the problem on the side of the road and the passengers are on their merry way. But it seemed that this service almost instantly called for the other uses to come back and delayed the whole trip. read more

We booked our field trip with 56 Seater bus and a particular driver request in Oct. 2015 and we send the email for all the details. They promised they will do their best. They booked 56 Seater but our requested driver was nowhere to be found and they assigned him to a different tour just days before our trip. We paid the whole amount two months advance to avoid any hassle. To our surprise they did not even mentioned the driver's name until the day before departure. On the travel day the bus did not arrived on-time. The driver was late for 20 minutes and bus was from different company and the driver shows without prior approval and clearance which was really needed as he will deal with students and teachers as chaperones. This company out-sourced the order without informing us in advance. And the rest was history, and we had a very bad trip. We were really very upset and very dissatisfied. Upon our return we sent our complaint via email and our request was never answered. We called Ms. Stacey Wilkerson who seems to be the manager of the company and she never returned our call. They have a very bad communication and very unprofessional dispatcher Mr. Andrew. A requested professional apology could suffice the bad experience we had and other compensation will be enough but they just ignore and it was very clear THEY DON'T CARE! Customers please be aware of the unacceptable situation that we encountered and think twice, thrice prior to booking your future business/pleasure trips with Gold Coast Tours. read more

After the terrible incident in Palm Springs where a tour bus drove into a semi, I had to write this review of the Gold Coast Tour Bus. We took a day trip with the Yorba Linda Senior Center. We had seats assigned in the rear of the bus. We have taken tours all over Europe and the US, but have never experienced such unsafe and bad driving as on this Gold Coast Tour Bus. The driver took the curbs so fast that the rear of the bus not only went over curbs several times, but also drove too close to the edge of the road, many times not on the paved road, but on the gravel. In the front of the bus, our hostess was heard to comment that she was wondering whether the driver was going to run over a small vehicle in front of us. A lesson to be learned here - question the tour bus company about their safety record and driving record of their drivers before you hire them. Yes, Gold Coast is a major company and expensive, but that does not make them automatically safe. read more
