It actually only deserves 4 stars but I want these establishments to do well and improve from the comments. I will be back and I highly recommend their pizza. The Meat and The Yuppie pizzas were fantastic and tasted exactly the way a pizza should. I recommend eating there while the crust is fresh and crispy. Excellent cheese, crust, and toppings and overall flavor. The areas I would like to see them improve on for a better experience are: 1. As others have said, put up a sign that says to Seat Yourself. Confusing when you walk in. 2. Wait until after closing to mop the floors. We came in slightly after 8pm on a Friday and they are open until 9pm. It smelled really bad, not to mention the liability of slipping. It was a little disgusting but there weren't any other tables large enough for us in another section. If it wasnt so cold outside, I would have taken the pizza outside or to the Square since they serve everything in a to-go box. 3. Serve the Caesar salad before or at least at the same time as when the pizza arrives. A salad should not take longer than a pizza. read more

Came here for the first time. Only ones in the restaurant besides one person having drinks at the bar. Ordering was kind of weird but not the worst. We ordered a medium minor moes BBQ pizza, calzone, wings and 3 drinks. $50.00 Pizza was all toppings and well by the pictures you can see it was soggy. Calzone was way oversized, wasn't really sure where to begin eating. Was warm on the bottom and everything else was cold inside. Wings were crispy but they were bland, not sauced (unlike the "chef" who came out not to long after our food came out and he had sauced wings eating at the bar) maybe that's why our wings took 40 minutes to bake. Amazingly fresh and so YUMMY. Their Vegi Pizza might just be the BEST I've had. The sauce is so thick, rich and zesty. Definitely worth the drive. We WILL BE BACK! Okay, back again and I've ordered the Vegi Pizza again. It's not a fluke, this pizza is OUTSTANDING. I LOVE IT. The atmosphere here is very casual. Beer and wine are available to go with garlic fries or chicken wings. Very comfortable place to settle in and watch a game or laugh it up with friends. This place has some of the best pizza I've ever had. The way the veggies and meat are so thinly sliced on the "Gold Dust" pizza is impressive and super yummy. Due to COVID, we'd really only had take out until recently. The eat-in dining experience was pretty disappointing. Pre-made salads in disposable plastic containers and plastic utensils. That's pretty low class for the nice ambiance and cost. But still amazing pizza. read more

We have been to Gold Dust in Sutter Creek, Ripon, and Oakdale, all FAB! Those location? Customer service A+, food, A++!! But I guess they are not all created equal! Cooperopolis location was just, a C- at best. Long day hiking and exploring Stanislaus Forrest area and saw a Gold Dust was on the way home! Young lady at the counter seemed rather annoyed by our presence but we can let that go for awesome food. No one brought out the pitcher of beer we ordered. Husband went in to pick up and bartenders ignored him for a solid 5 minutes! Chicken came out with 6 pieces? 6? Weird.. every other location the metal tray is full! Pizza and cheese bread came out and the bottom of the crust for both had something that had a sweet tang flavor burnt on the bottom. Ruined the flavors we have grown to LOVE at Gold dust! Ended up just picking toppings off the top. Dined on the patio. We were almost finished and same young lady came to our table and asked if we paid for the cheese bread. Um? Yes? We didn't get a receipt so assumed she charged us for it since we ORDERED IT and she brought it to our table WITH our order! How would we go steal from the kitchen?? Questioned what was in the cheese bread(garlic etc?) it was all so strange. She then said there was a mix up and someone just walked out with the wrong order. We have been eating for over 25 minutes at this point. Um? Still not our problem I assume. We asked for it when we ordered, she brought it with our order and there's just no feasible way I could go secretly steal a to go pizza, place in a dine in tray and sneak it to my table. She was incredibly rude, it was embarrassing in front of other patrons! Between the poor food quality and poor customer service we will skip this location!! Years ago I went here and got a veggie pizza on cauliflower crust... it was good and I'd get that again but It wasn't my choice. But a friend I was with had a calzone, it look fantastic and smelled delicious. So my 3rd time that was what we picked.... We because it's huge, like a large pizza folded over, but not and you're taking half home or sharing it. It was fantasticallygood !! Would put the places in Angels and Murphys to shame. $29 for the giant size. Four of us and we took half home. The quality was pure heaven. Crust and sauce were perfect. Bread sticks were a cheese pizza cut in slices. Came with marinara, ranch, and spicy ranch sauces. They just need to bring back the Stubborn Root Beer. FYI - don't complain about the service. Pizza is above average and had lots of toppings and a great crust. Would like to see a better variety of beers on tap and something done about the closeness of the dining room tables, but nonetheless this is another food option in the town square (besides that place that tries to call itself a BBQ joint). We've been coming here for years. Unfortunately today will be our last. I normally get the chicken calzone and my husband gets a pizza. I received my calzone and the chicken was greenish and chucks. At first I thought it was artichoke. The chicken had a fishy taste and texture. They changed from chicken fajita meat to dark meat of some sort we were told. What a great experience! Let me first start by applauding Matt the Manager! When I entered the restaurant I was warmly greeted and he asked if this was my first visit. He gave me an overview of the menu and made me feel welcomed. While waiting for my pizza, I noticed that Matt acknowledge everyone who entered and often greeted the people he knew by name. I was very impressed. Now for the pizza...I ordered one of their specialty pizzas and it was awesome. There was plenty of cheese, toppings, it was cooked perfectly, and extremely tasty! I looked at other pizzas coming out of the kitchen and they all looked good. Observing the crowd it looked like they all were enjoying their dinner, I Lao ordered their chicken wings and they were very good. Delicious pizza!!! Based on others' reviews, got the wonderful veggie pizza. We will make stopping here on our way to the mountains a regular thing. However, there is a real disconnect between the setting of the restaurant and the style of the food. It's quite fancy with big, wooden chairs and tables. Ornate even! The art and color palate and bar set a more formal scene. So when you eat your salad out of a plastic clam shell with a plastic fork, the fork and the paper plates feel even more cheap than if you'd just been hanging in a casual pizza joint. It doesn't "go" and I think that may be part of the reason for some of the more negative reviews about the salads and the prices. If you are expecting it to be keto diet friendly, it is not (contains starches as binders) and therefore higher in carbs, although I don't know the specific carb count. They don't make it there and I didn't ask the brand. It crisps up nicely. The regular crust looked like it was great, and I'm told by the friend I was with that it was perfect. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cauliflower crust only comes in a small size and they allowed me to make each half a different pizza order (with different sauces), and didn't even bat an eye when I asked. read more
