Great golf course that I play at since I live nearby. The employees are awesome.The green fee's are $95 weekdays and $120.00 on weekends. During the winter the golf course switches over to a shot gun format where everyone is assigned a starting hole and starts at 10:30am. Had dinner last night and the server Linda is always very friendly and accommodating. Their specials offered something even for vegetarians or pescatarians like myself... I ordered the beet salad with spinach and feta which was really good from their specials. I also ordered spaghetti (without meat) which they normally have Bolognese on the menu and they accommodated me with a yummy vegetarian marina with grilled mushrooms. Place is friendly and well run. Course is challenging and fun . The course is both wet and dry as it looks like water puddles off the hills and settles into valleys. Lots of water traps which I was surprised to see as it looks dry in this area . The people living here are close knit and friendly . I would rate this a 0 if I could. Our family and friends stayed in Copper Valley for three days. While the property was nice, the overall experience was disappointing. We were told our stay and restaurant costs would be waived if we bought a home, but we faced several issues. While charging our Tesla, a woman named Kaylin was rude when my kids used the restroom. As an Asian family, we felt uncomfortable and possibly discriminated against. At the restaurant, we saw open house tours and read disclosure documents with comments that felt biased and unwelcoming. We contacted an agent named "Perkins" but when she realized English isn't my first language, she became rude and dismissive. I was truly interested in buying a home here, but this experience changed my mind. read more

My partner and I were staying locally for our anniversary weekend and this dinner was something we were looking forward to. We were sat quite quickly but then no one spoke to us for 25 minutes. We had to wave someone down to finally be served. There was no apology for the delay but we shook it off. The food itself was good but the service continued to lack. No refills or check ins once we got our food. Fast forward to the dessert menu we ordered the creme brulee only to be told 10 minutes later they sold out earlier in the day. Understand things happen but after such a poor experience it was the icing or lack there of on the desert. Since once again no apology or attempt of making the situation better. Coming from the restaurant industry myself I know sometimes there are just bad days. However it was evident there was no manager in sight and no customer service values being instilled in the staff. What a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious. I had the Cobb salad and my husband had the French Dip. We chose a table at the window inside on the 18th hole which was pretty amazing. It was very bright and clean. Our server was new, but did a very good job. The bartender was pretty busy with golfers, but found that he could have communicated with our server since they were out of the beer we ordered and it took a while for her to find that out. Since the golf club changed hands, the ambiance and food have gone a bit south. It used to feel warm and inviting with wood and trees and tapestries. Now everything is grey on grey on grey and cold and uninviting. Granted we only come once a year while on vacation, but it was always a highlight. The last two years, not so much. We were told to just choose a table - there were 5 of us. Once we sat, menus were given. We had to ask for wine list. Someone came by and asked if "we" wanted anything to drink. I ordered champagne. She acknowledged me and walked away. Didn't take a drink order from the other 4 at the table. I'm still not sure what her actual roll was, because the bar tender was also the waitress. She was overwhelmed with lunch "crowd". Three tables and some golfers at the bar. But no one was helping her. We eventually called her over to order. Lovely young woman. Waited a long time for food. And it was subpar, even for a golf course. I had tuna salad sandwich, which was tuna with tarragon and nothing else. A bit dry. The pickle was like leather and the coleslaw was so sweet and chunky it was inedible. Two other parties ordered the club sandwich. It was decent, but very dry. No mayo or lettuce. Another party ordered the quinoa salad. She said it was a lot of lettuce and veggies and not much quinoa. But mostly the Dijon salad dressing overpowered everything else. When the bill FINALLY came it was wrong. Took her two times to fix it. We were splitting the bill and the manager screwed it up. Took her and two other people another 10-15 minutes to reimburse wrong charges and get the right amount of split. Basically, once we finally got the bill, it took 20 minutes for them to settle the payment. The waitress/bartender was lovely and friendly. The view of the golf course is divine. But, I don't think we're coming back. Slow service, mediocre food, and inept manager. read more

I'm going to say 3 stars because the course was nice & challenging. Let's start with the on course BEV Cart service. Pretty much non-existent.... Zero food on the cart there was alcohol!! Made the turn, no options for quick sandwiches or a decent snack, one employee told us to ask the pro shop..... pro shop said go into the bar.... Frustrating.... The main probably I have is with the lack of service & available general amenities!!! $125 is a bit steep for a place like this... more like $50.... read more

This review is for the restaurant Verona18. This is one of our new favorites. We dined there twice and the service and food were perfect. The first time we all had the Prime Rib and we loved it and the veggie sides. The next time we enjoyed every item we ordered. The Chilean Sea Bass was perfect. I didnt care for the pineapple-jalapeno chutney or the bed of rice. My family ordered two different pastas and they felt they were some of the best pasta dishes they ever had. The shrimp scampi had huge spongy shrimp and wasnt overly doused in butter. The desserts were awesome too. Basically everything we ate tasted the way it should with the right amount of salt and cooked to perfection. Simple things but hard to get these days. Nice view during the day. I've been coming here for close to20 years and want so much to have it be the default place for dinner. Over the years I've had amazing food, ambience and most importantly service. None of this has exceeded since Castle & Cooke departed. I had dinner tonight and was bummed that it was painfully average. New England clam chowder was actually Manhattan...ok I like that version too except it was more like leftover spaghetti sauce with clams added. Also ordered the steak salad which was also average. The steak needed lots of salt to get some flavor and the vinaigrette was weak at best. In addition, I had to ask for everything, more water, a napkin, utensils etc...Maybe it was because I got there a half hour before closing?!?! I have had great pizza and prime rib in the past but the other stuff seems like they're phoning it in...perhaps it was an off day. read more

With the understanding that they may still be recovering staff and talent from COVID,, I'm being a bit generous with this review. If it wasn't post-COVID, the rating would be lower. A group of friends came here for an evening out. Many of the dishes were decently prepared, but it was obvious that the chef had a hard time getting everything plated at the right time. Most, if not all dishes has been sitting under a heat lamp for too long, while other dishes were being plated. I had ordered the halibut special and it was extremely overcooked, to the point of being inedible. Dry through and through and the salsa-ish accompaniment was almost nonexistent. My wife had the shrimp scampi, and once you got through the dried out pasta on top of the plate, the rest was acceptable. Service was a challenge, but the server did her best under the circumstances. Plenty of other help, but they were not properly trained so they were of no hope. Had to flag down the server two times to open bottles of wine we brought because she was so overloaded. Management of the restaurant failed miserably tonight by not making sure the kitchen staff knew how to properly cook the menu, and that floor staff knew how to take care of the clients. read more

This review is for the Golf Course, the Restaurant, and the Bungalows, The Pro shop. First off all, the Pro Shop manager/director that helped us out this weekend is amazing! He went beyond with us. Helped me out in picking a golf club in the pro shop, has been very helpful, and even when I went out to the driving range (not knowing it was already closed) he even had someone get more balls for us so we're able to practice! Now this is what excellent customer service is! Second is for the restaurant. Vine 18. Now this is our first time in this resort so we had no idea about the hours, and of course we came when they were about to close, the manager in the restaurant gave us the utmost accommodations! Even in the early morning the following day! My husband went while they were still closed and he still accommodated us! Excellent excellent service! Now the Golf course, it is in very good condition. Pace of play is awesome, a little challenging but we enjoyed every single minute. Even the Marshall has been very friendly and helpful to go out of his way to come back for us in the range when it's our turn on the 1st tee, imagine that. Amazing experience here. Now the bungalows, it is very nice and very clean! The best smelling linens I have ever encountered! I would really love to know what they use!!!! My only concern in the bungalow is there is no landline and the bungalow we checked in at had one room that was locked the whole time, I got a little paranoid and wasn't able to sleep last night because of it but I called the desk and there was no answer. But it's really no biggie, Our stay here was amazing! Thank you to all the managers/employees that made my husband's birthday excellent even though no one knew it was his birthday! I had the Cobb salad today with our large group of travelers. It was excellent and probably the best salad I've had in a restaurant in quite awhile. Very flavorful dressing. Contained nice tender lettuce, fresh bacon bits, avocado, diced chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, gorganzola cheese crumbles and egg. Service was wonderful as well. Ok so we tried their place in Copperopolis for a family dinner. Waited for at least 30 minutes for someone to wait on our table! The lady that waited on us was great, come to find out she isn't even a server, she has another job at the golf course, from what we understand is they were shorthand, which seems to be an issue lately! Dinners are not even served with salads or soups, even at the outrageous prices! We were expecting to pay outrageous prices but the menu and selections were limited! We were offered specials form the menu in Modesto! Come to find out they were out of our choices after about 20 minutes having put in our orders! We were offered a bolognese sauce spaghetti so we decided let's try it! Cioppino was also on the menu, and of course we also had to have since the lists of seafood was tempting! Spaghetti was flavorless and bland!! We had 4 Italians at our table and we all agreed it was subpar! The cioppino was also lacking in spices! The sauce was at least on the thicker side and not watery! And on another negative note the Cioppion had more fish then the choices offered and bones! Needless to say we will not be going back to Verona 18! Which is too bad since the town doesn't have too many restaurants to choose from! Also from what we understand things are changing with the restaurant and not in a good way, many limitations and things that we have all been used to as members will be not for the benefit of the members!! It was my birthday so I took the family out for dinner. Decided to stay local but wanted a steak or prime rib, not a lot of choices in town so decided to try the Copper Grill. Service was very good and attentive waitstaff. The menu is small but offered what I wanted, prime rib. The appetizers, calamari and brussel sprouts were fabulous. The main dishes came in a timely manor. The family had ordered a variety of items from the specials to the pizza. All looked good, mine was delivered last and I was a bit shocked. I had ordered rare prime rib, stressing it to be less cooked than med rare as waiter had suggested. This piece was well done, not a hint of red on or in it. The waiter realized it as was apologizing for it before I could even say anything. If you know it's wrong why even bring it to the table. Well as I understood it was all like this piece. Rather than cause a fuss, pick something else that I didn't want I kept it. I ate maybe half of it and that was work, tough and dry. While it was obvious I was not eating it no staff mentioned it and I had to ask for a bag to take it home for my dogs. Needless to say I was highly disappointed in the meal and the reluctance of good staff to take notice of my not eating it. While the others enjoyed their food I did not and since I'm always the one to pay for it I know I'll not be returning here for anything more than snacks. read more

Copper Grille is a hidden treasure!!! Had dinner at Copper Grille last with my husband. He's eaten there before with our kids, when I haven't made the weekend trip to our vacation home in Copperopolis. He wanted me to try it, so it ended up being a date night just for the two of us. It was crowded, but there was a table available by the bar, so we took it. The hostess was very friendly & nice and showed us right to our table. Quickly after being seated, our waitress Rebecca showed up to tell us about the specials & to take our drink order. We also decided to start with an appetizer, the jalapeño poppers. Rebecca came right back with my margarita and my husband's tequila sunrise. Bread & butter soon made their way to our table. The bread was warm and really, really good. We ordered our dinner next and then enjoyed the beautiful view outside the windows over looking the golf course. It was so relaxing in the restaurant and with the view to admire, it made the date night even more enjoyable. Our appetizer showed up and they were delicious. The poppers were filled with cheese and a little golden brown on top, definitely worth ordering. My husband's clam chowder and my house salad arrived pretty quick as well and they were both tasty. I ate my entire salad, it was that good! Dinner was soon delivered to the table. I had Prime Rib, medium/well with a loaded baked potato & my husband ordered the halibut. The halibut came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I'm not a fish eater at all, but my husband told me his dinner was excellent. It looked good! My prime rib was so tender, it was actually tearing as I tried to cut it with a knife. It was moist and melted in my mouth as I ate it. It came out medium/well like I asked, and I'm glad I ordered it. The bake potato was delicious too. After dinner we decided to order a dessert to share and chose the brownie rockslide Sunday. This desert was so decadent and satisfying... chocolate craving met!! Rebecca was a wonderful waitress. She took great care of us. She met all of our needs with a smile and so, so sweet. As busy and crowded as the restaurant was, Rebecca had everything at our table in a fairly amount of time. Completely on point as a waitress. Thank you Rebecca & Copper Grille for an enjoyable evening with my husband and for making our date night, and my first time there an excellent experience!!! So far, r may be in the middle of a remodel, but they took a very quaint and great restaurant and it's all commercially looking. I hope this is in progress. When a new company buys the golf course and rips out the library, rustic paintings, and seating/staff, it makes you wonder what is in the works. Its early in the transitions--we'll know soon where this lands. I know the realtor HFD Benedict that we're outstanding are now a box of Benedict mix that is not good at all. We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and was not pleased with the hospitality and customer service. The resort itself was great and the golf course was in okay condition. Was pretty mushy at some holes but that's pretty standard. I'm not grading or judging them on this. The customer service was what bothers me. When booking, I noted it was my wedding anniversary and I wasn't really expecting anything from the staff or hotel, but a greeting or a congratulations would have been nice. Upon checking in, they were able to accommodate for early check-in since we had an early tee time. Great, thanks! For dinner, we were hoping to have dinner at their restaurant, Vine 18, since it is the only restaurant in the area (not much in Copperopolis, only about 3 restaurants that pop up on Yelp). I called early around 11am for a dinner reservations, but was told they were completely booked. I asked if a to-go order would be okay and was given a yes. So I called back at dinner opening time at 5pm and was told the same thing that they were booked and the kitchen staff could not take anymore orders. I told them that I was told I could put in a to-go order. I even threw out that it was our wedding anniversary. The woman eventually said for me to call back at 7pm, close to closing time, to put in an order. So my husband and I went to the bar to have a drink and was able to order some bar appetizers. The bartender was great! He was nice and accommodating. I called back at 7pm and a different woman answered and completely denied me from putting in an order. She claimed they were booked and too busy to put in another order. I told her that her coworker said I could put in an order. She didnt seem to care. She said I could check yelp for another restaurant that we could go to or have delivered. She mentioned a pizza place (that was not even in yelp). I have nothing against pizza but would have preferred a better meal for our first wedding anniversary. Overall, not good customer service in my opinion (I've worked in the restaurant business and in the hotel business). End result, the bartender was able to sneak in an order for us. Not sure why it was such a big deal for the other workers, especially if this is the ONLY restaurant on site. Not really accommodating for guests. read more
