Today was my second time going to this store, I drove from Vacaville. My first time was a great experience, the bald man working there was so kind and helpful. I inherited a bunch of jewelry (most was costume but they still tested it all for me) and had some real gold jewelry that was worth about 7k. They told me to come back with the remaining jewelry that I inherited and they would he happy to test that for me as well. I returned today and the lady at the counter did not want to test anything, got annoyed when I would ask questions and when I asked if one piece that matched what I brought in last time could be real since it looked exactly like the real gold set, she said she doesn't know why I keep asking her this and that maybe I brought in fake jewelry last time and that their store got scammed. What a horrible nasty comment to say to a customer, she made her store sound incompetent and unprofessional. I wish I would have caught her name but I'll never be returning here again. I came here based on Yelp reviews and they were right! Five star service from this business! This storefront is in a great location on East Bidwell at Montrose. Easy to find. Lots of parking right in front. This was my first time ever taking in jewelry to exchange for cash. I had some gold and some sterling silver old jewelry. I thought - why not see what I can get? The entire process was enjoyable, efficient and easy. I was assisted by the owner of the store and she could not have been any nicer to me. I was greeted immediately and helped right away. She carefully measured my items on the scale in front of me and explained the process as she went along. She gave me a lot of interesting information about what happens to the gold and the regulations on everything. I love hearing how things operate so this was great. You have to show you ID and get fingerprinted your first time. Then you are on file with them for future visits. I was paid much more than I was hoping and I was paid right on the spot. In fact, I had the very same experience I had read about in other people's reviews, namely that Ardy and Elie are honest, trustworthy, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, fair, etc. There are many subtle and easy ways that a business buying various types of silver coins can be dishonest from undervaluing coins of a particular year and mint and grade to the way they measure the amount of silver, etc. (This probably applies to gold as well as silver.) I believe that the methods they use to value their purchases are fair and honest, and that I received a fair price for my coins.
