I am sorry that this page is unclaimed. It seems as though the business has been sold and there is a disconnect with the past and current owners. We were a bit wary based on age of reviews here but we were surprised by how nice it is. They were open and do offer towel rentals and sell snacks. It was such a fun time. There are several pools ranging from really hot to very comfortable. It does seem like a very long drive as GPS took us spot on the main road but you continue on an unpaved road for a bit (it was unpaved but not terribly rough). read more

Idaho isn't necessarily a destination spot but being here over the weekend (10/24/24- 10/28/24) gave us time to explore some beautiful places like these Hot Springs. Let's get a few things out of the way: 1) There is no cell phone service out here. 2) There are no bathrooms with regular plumbing. Just Porta Potties. 3) Like someone else pointed out, there is also no fresh running water. The only water you'll have is the water from the hot springs. What they do have is a Yurt space with separate men/ women's area to change. You also have to provide your own lock. Bring your own Towels, snacks and everything else you might need because they don't serve any food here either. Given that we didn't have our own locks, we just stashed our things on the benches and into lockers without locking them. If you love water and soaking, then put this place on your bucket list. The facilities were clean and there was ample space for everyone to be in the pools without feeling too crowded. Also being surrounded by the trees and forest makes for such a magical experience. The largest pool and the hottest one was at the top. Don't ask me to tell you how hot it was-- all I know is that when we got in, it was enough to make us all gasp and walk down the steps slowly to acclimate to the heat. For someone that takes cold showers regularly, this heat was pretty intense. Once you get used to it, it feels wonderful. You can smell the sulphur from water and relaxing in here makes your body just feel calm and soothed. There are a total of 5 pools all decreasing in heat from the top. Also, the one at the top had cement floors where all the rest had sand bottoms. They also have little white water buckets to dip your feet into so that you could wash off in between pools. No reservations are needed to come here-- just show up, pay the $10 dollars and stay as long as you like. The drive out here is beautiful even though you do lose cell phone service along the way. If you're dependent on music like we are, make sure you have some playlists downloaded. read more

Made the 2 hour drive from Boise after confirming posted hours multiple times before making the drive, only to arrive at 4:20p and be told they had closed for the day. Well, it's been about 10 years since I've been to Gold Fork. Sounds like the grumpy old owners finally passed away so now they have new people. But of course apparently being grumpy is just part of the culture there. It's amazing to me that any business can stay in business with people as unprofessional, discourteous and just downright rude as the people there. Just ridiculous and it's really sad because the facility is nice. Won't go back. If you go, just be aware that anything resembling what I would like to call Idaho hospitality will not be found. Very interesting local culture experience: this was our destination for a Thanksgiving weekend road trip with local family and visitor (me). From Nampa it is about 2.5 hours drive but very scenic along the way with lot of place to stop over and view nature. The last bit of road is a bit rough and emphasizes that you are quite out of the way. We got there an hour early and were the second people there: by the time it opened there were about 20 cars. I was surprised that we then had to drive in the property again (without a clear priority line of who got there first) to their inner parking, they told us to go all the way up to the upper lot but it was completely iced over and we coudn't get in and almost got stuck (seems like they should warn?). Everyone else parked closer. It was a good experience, I was worried i would be too cold but the water was warm enough and close to dressing rooms to avoid that, the amenities are minimal but adequate and it's really just a great communal bath experience for all to enjoy! read more

The posted hours on their website are basically meaningless. They close whenever they feel like it and don't bother updating the website, so good luck actually planning a visit. The drive is not quick or convenient, which makes it even more frustrating to make the trek all the way up there only to be turned away at the door. On top of that, the employees are rude and unwelcoming. You may view these hot springs as a family-friendly activity, but kids under the age of 13 are not welcome after 4pm. Even during the "allowed" hours, the staff seem genuinely bothered by the presence of kids. We have been visiting Gold Fork Hot Springs for many years and it is always at the top of our list when we travel to Idaho. The serene high mountain meadows are definitely a sight to view and the beautiful setting in the pines makes the visit more enjoyable. I'm a bus driver and I brought a group from Boise area... I did not partake however my passengers did enjoy the hot springs pools. I however have a small complaint.. I drive a 45' monster. Parking for busses does NOT exist... I asked management for few cones to help me create a room so I can leave this place eventually without having to push cars aside :) sarcasm... no cones... I got four buckets and had to myself wait for people to leave and block people from parking on street (well, dirt road) so that I can leave later... no tank you or anything. It is absolutely ridiculous that they have posted hours of operation on their website, but decide to close early when they say they've hit their maximum number of patrons for the day. Nowhere does it say on the site that they might shut down early due to maximum patrons served. When talking to my husband that they were closed for the day, they were very rude and disrespectful. After driving the icy windy road we arrived right around 5 pm. I had checked the website and called and was advised they were open until 8, and there was a 2 hour swim limit. We arrived and they had closed. We were rudely greeted and told they were at capacity for the day. No sign on the road, no notice on social media and no notice on the website. Very unprofessional for a business to close unexpectedly like that and not even have the courtesy to post a sign at the entrance of a vet icy, windy mountain road. We came with three adult children who were all vaccinated before young grandkids joined us on vacation who couldn't participate. It was very clean and it was relaxing to not have kids around. There are three different water areas with varying temperatures. The middle pool with a sandy bottom and little waterfall is our favorite. They have two portable toilets and a nice yurt/changing area with lockers. I think they have showers. There are snacks, drinks and souvenir clothing items to purchase. Eeeeesh...not so good. We were initially very excited about it and the concept. But the reality of it was shocking. My wife and I went on a Friday hoping to beat any crowds and have a relaxing experience. What we encountered was difficult parking due to the number of cars. Large number of people with small children. No privacy for changing. No security for belongings. No decent bathroom facilities to deal with the small and adolescent kids. With the number of people that water in the pools was questionable at best. There was no way to shower or rinse off before entering and it was just very uncomfortable, and the opposite of relaxation. This was one of my favorite hot springs in Idaho in prior years, but it has since declined. Positives: The hot springs were excellent and immaculate. They have heated yurts with lockers and pools with various temperatures. Cons: You must carry your vaccination card with you, as they need it for all consumers. Aside from the rules, which have become so stringent that we feel constricted and uncomfortable, nothing has changed about the location or the accommodations. read more

Went with 3 of my girl friends for a ladies trip this weekend. It was AMAZING!!! They require that you show proof of vaccination in order to use their BEAUTIFULLY renovated facility. And so because of this, a lot of idiots have stopped coming; all but ensuring a relaxing, NOT CROWDED, fun environment. The pools were beautiful. The scenery was pristine. And not a MAGA HAT to be seen. Not sure how much longer the serenity will last, so I HIGHLY recommend going while the getting is good. read more

I have several complaints about this place. One of them very disturbing. Checking room was smelling like smoke. Changing tent very cold. And worst one, I was their w my family. When my daughter (9yrs old) and me 8months pregnant were changing in the changing room, two buff men (wearing bras at the pool) came into the ladies dressing room to change, I became very uncomfortable and found it extremely inappropriate. Visited: Saturday April 28, 2018 My friend J'me has been here before and was really excited to take us here! You go down a long dirt road to get to it. Her Mazda 3 made it, so any care can drive the road. It is slow going. We got to the gate before the hot springs were open and waited 10 min before a guy came down and opened the gate. There were about 3 cars at this point. Jme wanted to beat the crowd and sure enough we did! More and more ppl started showing up as the day went on. A lot of kids too. You park down the road and it is a short walk to the hot springs area. You go into the yurts and it is $10/person. From there, you enter the pools. There's another yurt that has lockers and you can change. Port-O-Potties for bathrooms. There are 4-5 pools that go from hottest to coldest. I did not see anyone sitting in the hottest one. The 2nd hottest one was already too hot for my liking. They have a huge chess board too you can play with next to the pools. Overall, we had a great time here and stayed for less than 2 hours! Gold Fork Hot Springs property is reasonably maintained, pools are warm, and offers tables and umbrellas to rest. If you want to soak silently and not enjoy yourself in the least it's perfect! Regrettably they do not mention on their website that children are not welcome. Don't be fooled by the road sign that families are welcome before 4pm. The host is nasty and rude, was clearly put out by our presence and hovered over us. We had two kids with us, well mannered, stayed by us, not causing trouble, my granddaughter screamed because a bee landed on her ( by the way, the water is full of bees and ants and lots flying/crawling around bugs) and we were threatened to be kicked out. Seriously? To make it burn worse 6 teenagers soaking next to us were using profanity and talking inappropriately but nasty lady didn't care about that she was too busy making sure our kids didn't move or touch the sand or breathe. Gold Fork Hot Springs if you're trying to create an adult only "zen spa" then advertise that way. We will never go back. I absolutely loved the sandy bottom pool! Proof of vaccination was NOT REQUIRED. Staff at check in was warm and friendly. Go in with an open mind and leave with an amazing experience. Relaxing natural hot springs with multiple pools of varying temperatures. Well maintained. Comfortably holds a large number of people so even when busy it doesn't feel crowded. There is seating around the periphery as well if you need to step out or for folks who don't want to get in at all. The place is a somewhat out of the way (nearby McCall is pretty small resort town), with a long, narrow, packed gravel parking area leading up to the entrance; so be prepared with appropriate footwear. Owners are openly racist turning away Mexicans because they can't speak English. My Mexican girlfriend and I offered to help translate for two parties that showed up behind us. The owner stated, "if they've been in the US for a year then they should learn english." we stayed to help interpret, and she told them to youtube how to learn English.
