I came in to see if Dominic could help re-pierce my 2 earring piercings that had closed up. I recently had a piercing done in a very unique/cartilage heavy spot, and have been dealing with a serious amount of swelling. Even though Dominic did not personally do the piercing, he was very kind and was able to help me get fitted with the right size bar to accommodate the swelling, and he provided me with instant pain relieve with a quick swap! I recently came in for an ear curation appointment. I've always wanted to venture into ear piercings beyond my lobes and I knew I was in good hands I've been following Dominic's work for sometime now. TL;DR: if you are looking for an experienced hand in the East Bay look no further. Book now. EXPERIENCE: CURATION Dominic has great energy and truly takes the time to get to know you. The first few minutes is to get to know you and what you are looking for. Everyone is different and Dominic is very receptive regardless of whether or not you have a strong vision or are open to let the spirit move you. I came without a strong POV of what I wanted and opted to let his creativity guide me. I normally opt for dainty studs and walked away with some subtle dangly pieces based on his recommendations. Dominic offered up a number of different options which works for me as I love optionality and made it easier to rule things out. He did not mind matching a few things a number of times for me. I did bring my own jewelry but opted for new pieces and walked away with 3 new piercings (2- flat, 1- lobe). I think the best part about this is it's a private appointment 1:1. I didn't feel rushed and I wasn't overwhelmed by other people in the shop which I can't say for larger shops. I could easily see all the options available. This alone makes the coin spent worth it. No one likes to feel like cattle moving through the line. EXPERIENCE: PIERCING I was really anxious about getting my flat/upper ear pierced. I had only my lobes pierced and knew that these would hurt more than my lobes. Dominic helped to ease my nerves, pumped me up and talked me through it. Everyone's pain thresholds are different. For me, once the piercing portion was over, I barely noticed them (though this will be short lived once I clean these babies out). SPACE/AMBIANCE The facility is very clean. Amazing service and beautiful jewelry! I stopped by to buy a stud for my lobe since my old stud had randomly fallen out yesterday. I made an appointment online through the website; booking was a breeze and I was able to get a same day jewelry shopping appointment. The studio is located directly to the right of the Phenix Salons entry hallway. Dominic met me directly at the start of my appointment and guided me through all of my jewelry options, explaining the different choices of metals, sizes, and gemstones. Dominic has a lot of white gold and yellow gold lobe jewelry to choose from and it was difficult for me to make a decision since they were all so pretty! Since I'm planning to book a curation appointment within the next two months, where I plan on buying more jewelry, I settled on a gold stud with Swarovski crystal for $100. I think the prices are very fair and on par with other tattoo/piercing shops in the area. Jewelry installation is free for gold jewelry but I believe there maybe an additional installation price for titanium jewelry, which starts at $50 per piece for jewelry alone. The shop is very clean, quiet, and beautifully decorated. Dominic definitely knows jewelry well and even complemented me on some of my other ear pieces. I can't wait to come back! FYI, Dominic said the shop will be moving to downtown Walnut Creek to a bigger location sometime in June (I believe). read more

I reached out to Dominic to remove my corkscrew type nose stud which I had gotten pierced just a month ago from somewhere else and wasn't able to remove it by myself and really didn't like it. Dominic was so amazing he not just helped me remove it so easily and carefully but he also changed it to beautiful three stone 14k gold push back stud. And it was such a pain free amazing experience. Also he was so particular about cleanliness and sterilizing the tools. I never got any keloid bumps and within a week I feel my piercing already feels healed and comfortable. I've had 2 cartilage piercings that have been giving me issues for the past 3 ish years, and I was ready to remove them. After calling and researching a few places around my area, Gold Society had the best reviews and fairest price. There's free 2 hour parking right in front of the salon and in the neighborhood behind. The salon is situated inside Phenix Salon Suites. You'll have to call the salon when you arrive for your appt and they'll let you in. The piercing area was very clean and bright. After telling Dominic my issues, he went straight to work. He asked me about any allergies, confirmed the area around my piercings were a bit irritated, and as gently as he could, removed the piercings. He gave me advice on aftercare and how quickly my holes will close up. I was there less not even 10 mins and left feeling instant relief.
