I did end up selling my pieces, he briefly explained the gold market and we chatted a bit about the jewelry and how he does business. He clearly cares about he does. Overall it was an easy, chill transaction. He shared he was offering $70/g but as it was explained to me: that can change and also depends on how much you're selling. I'm no expert. Did I do a lot of research? Not really. But Mike seemed genuine, wasn't pushy and didn't give off a "tryna get you" vibe. If you're looking to sell or even buy secondhand jewelry, I definitely recommend swinging by and chatting with Mike. Store wasn't busy on a Thursday, early afternoon.

I live upstate so it's quite a trek to get there, I called prior to going to ensure they could take my wax ring I had carved and turn it into brass. I was told no, we don't do one offs of brass and when we do brass it takes several weeks to get done. I walk in the next time I'm in the city and attempt to drop it off, the gentleman there tells me there's no one available to take my order and to come back later. This is 30 minutes after they opened mind you, so I had to sit and wait because coming back isn't an option. I leave the piece, get a quote for 35 dollars, and am told it will be ready Monday. 30 minutes later I got 3 phone calls back to back all telling me it won't be ready on Monday it will be much later. I tell her OK, and when I return to pick it up 5 days later I'm charged DOUBLE. They charged me the price for 3d printing and when I noticed the increased cost I was told *Oops, you will have to come in to the shop for a refund*, even though I told them I live upstate and it was extremely inconvenient. Fast forward to today, I go in for the refund and I'm told by the worker we don't do refunds. After doing my best not to lose my temper and explain the situation again, she said OK I'll give you a refund, she pressed a button on her end and that was it. So I did not in fact have to come all the way back to the city, in the torrential rain and floods for a refund which should've been issued days ago. As for the quality, It looks awful. So I will absolutely NOT be going back here, and I suggest you avoid at all costs.

Had to call multiple times to confirm. Was promised that I could pick up the finished pieces three business days later. After three days I call in the morning and get told that they'd probably be done by the evening and that they'd call me. They did not call. The day after I call again, they tell me that they would get the job done that day. I waited and called the next morning. I am told the ring is done so I head down to their shop. I arrive and the ring is not ready. I have to wait almost two hours and then I can pick up the rings. The quality is fine although one of the rings has a tiny ding. However, I am being charged about 15% more for material than the rings actually need - supposedly the difference is lost during polishing. Then I notice that I made an error with the sizing. I tell them that I need to get one ring re-cast. They tell me they can use the material from the old ring. I ask if they can complete the job within one week. The lady assures me that it wouldn't be a problem. I sent over the new files and ask for confirmation. I don't hear back until I call a day before the planned pick-up. Now she tells me that the job hasn't been started yet because someone is sick and wont be back until the week after. In short, the ring won't be done by the time I need it. And they didn't bother letting me know that they wouldn't be able to meet the deadline. Lady gives no apology, just excuses. Competitive pricing but bad attitude from the reception lady and overall horrible communication. I guess you get what you pay for.

Basically what happened is, a few of my micro-pave stones had fallen out the day before, and had compromised the band. My husband was due to go abroad to asia for 6 months on that Friday morning, so we needed to get to NY asap to get a new setting. The jeweler that we purchased our engagement ring from about 7 years ago had moved out, and Brian and his family took over that storefront about 1 year ago (although he and his family have been in the business for decades). In a minor panic, I explained to him the situation, and he (without hesitation) told me he would redo my ring setting, EVEN despite the fact that he didn't even sell me my ring (ah-maze-ing!). I told him that in fact, I'm considering a whole new setting (but still similar to what I had), and he gladly said he would give me a credit towards a new setting of my choice. Within 20 minutes, I found something that I really liked (he has dozens, if not hundreds of choices in his shop) and I decided on it pretty quickly. He told me it takes about 10 days to custom make, and he'd be in touch with me when it's ready to arrange for the shipping. He called me the following Monday saying it was ready. I was ecstatic and so excited to get my ring back! He took a couple photos to show me before he packaged it. From the photo, it looked like it might not have been exactly like I wanted, and expressed that to him by email. He said "when you receive the ring in DC, and you don't like it, I am happy to remake it just to your exact specifications, and I'll do it in front of you so you can watch". WOW!! What exceptional customer service. He sent the package out on that Monday, and I received it on Wednesday morning, only 1 week after visiting his shop. I am absolutely thrilled how it came out, photos just don't do it justice. It fits my 2.93 cushion cut stone perfectly and I'm so impressed with his care and service throughout the entire process. I have no hesitation in recommending Brian and Dalia Diamonds to anyone in the market for fine jewelry. He is a likeable, trustworthy man in the midst of the craziness of diamond district NY. He even sat with me and chose every single diamond individually, asking what I thought about each one's color & cut before putting it into the batch that would be used. He spent such a long time with me to include setting up the raw materials in a row on a velvet tray to show me what it would look like when it was finished.
