Sure, it's no frills and basic. I've visited most bagel shops in a five-ish mile radius and this one takes the cake, or bagel. Also, when your friends from NYC can agree that they have the BEST bagels, you know it's a winner. Their everything bagels are my favorite, and I get it lightly toasted and lightly buttered. Loved the variety of options they had - from the bagels to cream cheese to the sandwiches. I loved my turkey sausage with cheese and egg on a sesame bagel. The dill & cucumber cheese cream and the olive cream cheese were awesome. The service was initially very efficient, but I knocked down a star because the cashier called us over, we paid, then the guy we ordered from brought over another bag of our stuff and yelled at us that we caused confusion by working with someone else when in actuality the cashier guy told us to pay with him (he got yelled at by the other guy too). ITS DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN! Thought I'd try again because as I posted previously, their bagels are quite good. This time it's the day before Christmas, 9:15 AM, so you'd think there'd be no problem. WRONG! I swear there were 4 sad looking bagels left between all the bins. I should have figured from all the frowning, empty handed folks filing out as I walked in. With all the nonsense going on in the tiny business district that exists in Emerson with the muckity-mucks seeking to urbanize the town, you'd think this tiny bagel store would get their stuff together before they find themselves in the shadow of some monstrous mega-tenant structure. The best Goldbergs around! I only go to this location specifically for the amazing staff, convenient location & awesome bagels here! The staff that works here is definitely the best then any other location. Fernando keeps everything running smoothly and greets all of his guests with a friendly smile & he is just great! He's the most hard working person I have ever met! Also shout out to illan (sorry if I spelt it wrong!) he is also a great worker who greets my mother & I every single time we come in and it's nice to talk to him whenever we see him! Best bagels in the area - hands down. Awesome selection of freshly-made spreads, creative sandwiches and a great variety of bagels (including Jalapeño Cheddar!). The coffee also never disappoints. I've always found the service to be quick, friendly and reliable. I live in Oradell and routinely come here for weekends breakfast as the bagels (and overall breakfast options) are way better than anything in the Paramus/Oradell area. read more

In an area that seems to be densely populated by bagel shops, this is my favorite one since I moved into town, especially when this location changed owners into the Goldberg's we have today. Their bagels are crispier on the outside and pleasantly chewier on the outside then some other bagel shops around here. Plus, their bagels seem to have a lot of seeds and toppings on them; great if you're a fan of varieties like sesame, everything, and poppyseed. Give them a try! read more

Bagels are the best in the area however there service sucks. They have a sign that says delivery, but don't be fooled they don't deliver ever! They need to take that sign down. So overpriced it's funny. Just stopped there and got a bagel with plain cream cheese and a bagel with scallion cream cheese - and it came to $8.50. I questioned the guy to make sure that was correct, and his response was "yeah - I just work here, my boss sets the prices and people keep coming in, so we can charge that much." I love Goldberg Bagels, best bagels around. My problem is how they can never get an order right. Today I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, how hard can that be? Apparently very. Get to work and it had butter. Store wasn't even busy, they were literally standing around waiting for customers. How do you get this wrong? Went to the new Emerson location this morning. Ordered a bagel with butter. $2.50. Yup $2.50. When I said something to the person taking my money - he said "we are going to lower our prices". Guess the customers are expected to pay for the renovations. A plain bagel is $1.00 - so you pay $1.50 for butter. One and done for me. Will never step foot in that place again. I'm a fan of their Bacon Egg and Cheese on a Flagel, SPK.. It is one of the few places that stuffs a sandwich with enough egg and bacon and the coffee's are great. The staff is always nice, so i find it hard to believe the reviews below. I still hold true to how expensive a pound of tuna or chicken salad costs. I came in here because I was in the area. I tried to order a speciality sandwich but they said they were out of a lot of the sandwiches listed in the menu. I then ordered a sandwich and they left off most of the ingredients. I was starving so I started eating the sandwich anyway and found a hair cooked into the grilled chicken.
