Lox bagel
Qi Z.

Lox bagels don't include cream cheese apparently you have to specifically request it. Who eats Lox bagels without cream cheese? That's like eating cereal and having to request for milk. At the very least I would wish the guy upfront asked if I wanted cream cheese in my bagel had I known it doesn't come with it.

Average Breakfast. Decent Price. They messed up my order, but overall, okay takeout experience.

Turkey bacon egg and cheese on a pumpernickel rye bagel
Daniel A.

This bagel store has the designation of having the best pumpernickel rye bagels in the immediate area, I have tried about a dozen other spots around in the last few months and nobody comes close, I realize my previous review comes from a quantity issue but as I now have discovered they make very good bagels compared to many others and provide a nice selection of sandwiches, I also like how there seems to be a tight managing presence behind the counter , keep it up !

Butter Bagel Toasted

My toaster at home cooks more evenly than this. I didn't know you could mess up a buttered bagel.

I'm not sure who Jimmy is, but my name is Brittany, and this is the container they put my breakfast omelette in.

Solid bagels, good wraps but the reason I'm giving it an extra star is that they have vegan cream cheese. That's a big draw

I got an everything bagel with cream cheese here. It's hard to create an idea of what a GF bagel…read moreshould taste like but for me, this just wasn't the texture I prefer. The seasoning was very good and the bake on the outside looked identical to a "regular" bagel and the cream cheese was delicious and generous. I highly recommend if you need GF for health or diet reason. If you want a normal chewy bagel, I suggest elsewhere.

My kids and wife were loving it: - Linzer cookies - black and white cookies - rainbow cookies - apple and cherry turnover - Oreo cheese cake - Boston cream donuts - cannolis with mini chocolate chips and dipped on both sides - lemon squares - finger cookies that were Nutella/raspberry/chocolate - eclairs aka chocolate hot dogs to my kids - blondie type squares - mini fruit pies I think but we didn't get those. My kids aren't into those. We got everything above except those mini tarts and the Blondie squares. All very tasty. They even had everything, sesame, and plain bagels that were gluten free which had the correct texture. These bagels are as good or even possibly better than the best bagel place in New York City for gluten-free, which is modern bread. We will definitely be back. The staff could've been horrible and we still would have returned but they were super friendly and very very patient with my kids. Awesome experience. From the outside it looks like some mediocre place but once you get inside, it's insane for the gluten free folks. Definitely worth hitting! My only complaint was the hazelnut iced coffee, had a slight flavor issue which relates to the way they clean the coffee machine. They need to do a better job cleaning it because there is an aftertaste with the hazelnut coffee. But this is small potatoes versus everything else.

The inside is busy and clean! We ordered the southern omelet platter, some pre-packaged juices, cookies & fries. The omelet came with the eggs, home fries (or hash browns), and a whole bagel [with butter or cream cheese]. Everything tasted good, but arrived barely warm, which was a bit disappointing (the reason for the missing star). The fries were super crispy (they better be amazing for about $6) and the cookies were crunchy yet soft at the same time...so good! The staff is super friendly, kept picking up whatever we were done with & checking in on us, so please tip well if you dine in. There is also street parking & a small parking lot (for about 5-10 cars). Give them a try!

There's space to wait for your order too- so if it's cold or raining, there's room for you. They're open 7a-7p which is great. It was busy when I ran in today around 12:45p on a Sunday and that's always a good sign. It looks clean and the drinks I saw looked appetizing. The food menu sounds fantastic. The guy who helped me with my order was super nice. But I actually went in there on the hunt for something specific. It's the 2nd time I went in since they moved to the space across the street from where they were. The first time I stopped in quickly and saw they had what I was looking for but very few so I didn't buy anything. l had done a very difficult and time intensive Google search for Macaron Cafe macarons. They wholesale out of NYC and they're the best macarons ever. There are probably 6-7 places in Ridgewood that sell macarons, some that make them fresh baked. And none are as good as the ones from Macaron Cafe. Pre-covid I could find them locally pretty easily. But now, it's really hard. Most of the places that sell them put up a menu of the flavors that's very easily identifiable, and they carry the full line. By googling a photo of the menu I was able to find them in Fort Lee and American Dream and those are both too far. I'd gone into every single place that sells macarons in downtown Ridgewood except RCC and none of them have them. I finally made it into Ridgewood when RCC is open (we usually end up in Ridgewood after dinner and they're closed) and imagine my joy in seeing the macarons there. I can tell it's them instantly. Except - they only have like eight of the flavors! They don't advertise them. They don't have the menu up either, so they only way I could tell there might be a chance of them being there was an old photo of their counter from Yelp or Google. So, I didn't have any drinks or food. I just bought some macarons. And I would've bought more except that they didn't really have the flavors I wanted. There are generally around 28-32 flavors and they change/add/take away every few months/holidays, etc. My knocking a star is ONLY for the lack of flavors of these amazing macarons and only having a tease amount of flavors of them. And they should advertise their baked goods/desserts better, like in photos on instagram. They don't post enough of all their food. I had to just take a chance and come in from an old photo. I know I don't want to have to drive to American Dream mall for these macarons. And I know the girls behind me in line today were talking about how they came in for tiramisu.

The matcha einspanner caught my eye, but unfortunately the flavors fell short for me. The barista making my drink appeared to be newer (another barista ended up taking over to finish the drink), and the drink itself tasted overly milky with not enough matcha flavor. Maybe it was the whipped cream, but it felt diluted overall. On the other hand, my husband's New Orleans iced coffee was good, and my friends enjoyed their other coffee drinks as well. Next time, I'll skip the matcha and just stick with coffee.

The owners and staff are so nice and efficient. I called with a rush catering order one Saturday morning and rather than tell me I was insane like they probably should have, they very kindly and quickly fulfilled the order. Everyone at the party was asking us where the bagels were from. They are exactly what you want from a bagel, with a thick crust on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We often catch them after a fresh batch has come out of the oven. I hadn't originally noticed that they offered special bagels until I read about their shop in Ho-Ho-Kus magazine. Ever since, the Burrata Cheese bagel has been my go-to, but they also make a great egg sandwich. My kids love the apple juice bottles with characters on top and on warmer days, they have a little table and bench outside to sit at, which is nice for chatting with the neighbors you inevitably run into. Everyone loves chatting with everything bagel seeds stuck in their teeth, right? Lol. They have brought them in for the winter so there is a little seating indoors. We are so happy to have this addition to our neighborhood - definitely worth a visit!
