First Botox attenptngave me an uneven, "The Joker" brows and a crazy ripple fold across my hairline... Had one excellent Botox treatment at with the other aesthetician. But maybe two weeks later, I did have go back for corrections. I got one joker brow and a fold on one part of my forehead again. I was advised that my face and brows are uneven - which I know they are, haha. But, I think that it might be more about how they do injections because I've had excellent results with a doctor's office in DC (where the nurse made smaller injections and more distributed along my forehead as opposed to injecting more Botox in a few spots. Or perhaps they don't have as much experience with East Asian faces. The team are super nice there, and if there are any undesirable results, they invite you back to make the corrections. read more

After the closing of my beloved Center for Modern Vein and Skin I was delighted to hear that Dr Erika Ugianskis was now the Medical Director at GoldCoast Med Spa. Consider this a PSA if you are in your 20's NEVER I repeat NEVER walk out of your house without SPF on your face. If you turn your nose up at this advice please save money for treatments in your 30's. Trust me! Back to Goldcoast. Med Spa, on my first visit there I met Julie Hoff she is the Clinical Director. She is so sweet, very professionaland never puts pressure on me to do any more then I want to do and I never feel like I'm being hard sold on anything. I've been there 3 times now I have gotten Chemical peels and Botox and I have nothing but love for her and the rest of the staff. I have a crazy schedule, sometimes I'm calling 24 hours before I want an appointment and she has accommodated me. Her Botox prices are competitive ($12 range per unit) and so are her other treatment prices. I'm adding the price to my Yelp review because years ago I thought Botox was probably too expensive for my budget and I was buying $60 eye creams and cosmetic lotions and potions to combat the aging process. I can tell you all that stuff is a waste of money. Botox is the fountain of youth. I don't own eye cream now and there are pharmaceutical grade lotions and potions that are better than anything you can buy at your big department store beauty counter for roughly the same price.All sold at GoldCoast Medspa. Explore your options ladies and gents. GoldCoast Med Spa is a place you can trust and have amazing results. A couple of little tips and tricks- Email- register your email on their website and every month you will get the specials emailed to you. Parking- street parking for about $5 an hour. i did botox twice and one syringe of juvederm here. The office and doctors are really sweet and patient. I did botox for jaw reduction and juvederm for jaw augmentation, which both are not "main stream" injections in America. I was doubt about the result first, but after had these fillers i cant be more satisfied with them. read more

My first visit was simply a consultation where I asked Rosalyn about a million questions about procedures, risks, side effects and more so I could make a well-informed decision about what would help ease the aging process. She was extremely patient and informative, and built the trust needed to let someone near your face with chemicals. After the first time, I've been back to also see Jill and Linda - both of these women are able to offer guidance and information to make the aging process as easy as possible. Jill took the time to review my entire skin care regimen and products and advised some tweaks that have been helpful. And Linda is always a delight to see! She always knows who I am and doesn't treat me like just another patient, which I assume is the case for anyone who comes to see her. So... in my previous review, I was not in a good place regarding Goldcoast MedSpa. Just yesterday, I went in for another treatment, and , Linda, the other technician admistered it --- Awesome Awesome Awesome, Linda is awesome! I didn't even know that the customer service was supposed to be that great. The numbing cream used to always drip on my clothes while I waited for it to take affect, and it was just plain annoying to have that stuff greasing my blouses- but wouldn't you know it, they have a tubetop type thing you can change into to avoid this kind of mess! (Thanks for the heads-up, Linda) She was so sweet, attentive, and a great listener! I only had to tell her to take a break ONCE cause all the other times, she noticed me gripping the stress ball super tight, and she *knew* to take a break. I am always greeted so warmly, from making appointments until I walk out the door, post-treatment. Rosalyn is just a dream! If you're nervous about injectables, see Rosalyn. She is VERY patient and will answer all of your questions thoroughly. She price checks everything (without prompting) before proceeding with any services. I tried dermaplaning today with Daniella and It was a great experience! I purchased a Groupon for microderm with no expectations because usually staff at spas treat you poorly when they know you are paying with a Groupon. However, Daniella was very friendly and accommodating. She actually talked me in to dermaplaning because she was open and honest with me that the microdermabrasion I signed up for was somewhat painful. She took good care of me during my visit and sent me home with samples! I just wish I had more $ on me to give her a better tip... Hope to be back again! read more

So I never ever write a review but I feel like I have to. I have been to Gold Coast Med Spa three times for dermaplanning. The first time I had a groupon and went to Daniella and she was fantastic. My skin was so glowing and she was honest and didn't push any products on me which felt good. I felt totally comfortable and she was very informative without being pushy. The next time I had some random lady who rushed through my service a bit and I ended up with a few minor cuts on my face but I love Daniella so much I went back a third time. The third time was just as good as the first. The facilities are clean, the staff is so kind and accommodating, they are very flexible in appointment times and scheduling and the service provided (especially by Daniella) is truly next to none. I went there for a laser hair removal. I am very happy with the service. The lady taking care of me is Julie Hoff. She's very friendly and you can feel her sincerity to her customers. The laser hair removal treatment is wonderful. I bought a package of 6 treatments for underarm and upperlip. After 1 treatment I barely see any hair in my underarm anymore (and it used to be super hairy). The price is reasonable too. This is a fabulous place. Unlike all the other 'med spas' in Chicago, it is non-commercial, non-pressure and excellent. The owner, who does the services, is an RN and highly trained and experienced. Not one of those 'medical aestheticians' that other med spas use. She works with Michael Byun, a plastic surgeon, who she shares the office with. She is honest and I trust her totally. I went to GOLDCOAST Medspa after finding their Groupon for a chemical peel. They offer a variety of peels and you're not limited to one type of peel when you purchase the Groupon. Daniella did my peel and she was amazing. After having a quick consultation with her she let me know what she thought I wanted and gave me a variety of options I could take with choosing the right peel. I received the Sensi-PCA peel and that surprisingly took about an hour. She was constantly fanning my face and checking to see if it was feeling okay, which you will experience some slight "tingling or burning". Overall, the spa is in a great location and super clean! I've been going to Goldcoast MedSpa for a year. There's a lot of "good" there, but I can say I've just found other places that I prefer and would not recommend this anymore. My two cents: 1. They are great at Laser hair removal, not at injectables. I would not recommend for anything needle related. 2. Linda is awesome and the only reason I went back a second time. She's great with a laser and totally personable 3. There are other individuals that work there that I always left feeling manipulated or somehow paying hundreds of dollars more while getting something less done. My suggestion would be to make sure you have FULL understanding of what your buying so you don't leave feeling like I did. Linda is awesome, but overall I need to go somewhere where I feel I can get more than LHR done and not getting manipulated into paying more. read more

I came here twice for medical-grade facials. The first one I got was fantastic. My skin was glowing so I bought another one. The second time, I had a weird reaction. My skin formed a white splotch on the side of my face. The lady stopped what she was doing and took that product off. It didn't hurt but the mark took a few months to heal. I have just started to go to Goldcoast Medspa over the last year when Dr Ugianskis left her practice and partnered up with Julie Hoff, RN. You always worry about going to a new place or trying someone for the 1st time, especially when you are dealing with things to add to your beauty....no worries here! Julie is a complete professional, you do not feel as if you are being "sold" on unnecessary services and both Julie and Dr Ugianskis are consultative and fun. The atmosphere is so not stuffy, it is relaxed and you feel as if you can ask questions, be honest with what you want and they listen! Last year around Christmas time I was trying to make an appt-Julie actually called me, after hours, from her cell, and worked to squeeze me in before vacation! That is amazing! Plus, for those of you familiar with the high price of city parking, I can always find metered parking on the street-within a block. Everyone i've met here is wonderful. I've been for botox, microdermabrasian and IPL facials and was incredibly happy with all of my results, and the experience at the spa. They are always great about alerting me to special deals that are going on, and pointing out opportunities for me to save money on things I was going to pay full price for anyway. I have been here for a few treatments, and plan to continue my relationship because of the great services I received from them. Before coming here I went to plastic surgeon for a few procedures for facial rejuvenation. It was always hard to get an appointment that fit with my schedule there, and to be honest I didn't like the doctor even though she is HIGHLY rated on Yelp. She always seemed like she was rushing through the appointment and sticking needles into my face really quickly. Anyway, I looked for somewhere new and I am so happy I found Goldcoast Medspa. I got botox and a chemical peel and both experiences were great. It was my first chemical peel and Linda talked me through EVERYTHING. I was nervous, not knowing what to expect of if the peel was even right for me, but she tailored the peel to my needs and took the conservative approach I was looking for. She talked me through the healing process and really put me at ease. During the procedure both the injection lady (I forget her name but she is a PA, and was also awesome) and Linda were so friendly and really take your mind off of whats going on. I highly recommend if you are interested in getting some younger healthier looking skin. The botox is a little expensive and there is a minimum, but when you trust the person poking you with a needle its worth it. read more

this was my first time at GCMS and I was very pleasantly surprised. The lady in the front which I found out later was the manager of the medical spa was not only pleasant but catered to my needs. Daniella was the girl that did my laser and I was telling her how I've heard wonderful things about facials and she booked me for one for right after my laser treatment. Everyone there is amazing! The first two times I lasered I didn't need to numb up. The third time it hurt so bad I could only get through one underarm! They were really nice and let me reschedule to come back and numb up then get the other underarm and Brazilian done. Plus they have an extremely potent laser. It is pricey but they have a payment plan and it's worth it! It's an actual medical spa and not some joint with an old laser selling group ons. I love this place and highly recommend it! read more

Hi all- ive been going to julie and the her group of estheticians at gold coast med spa for about 3 years. i bought a laser hair removal package for my underarm and bikini, that was priced fair. too many it may seem costly...but i felt it was worth it since she is a professional registered nurse in case something went wrong. the results are fabulous...the first time my hair didnt grow back for 6 months and each time it grows back less and less...in the end if your a waxer... this actually ends up costing less (and it also hurts less). After your first package ends, touch ups cost the same as a salon wax...in the end i ended up spending what i spent in a year getting waxed and now i spend only 10% of that (i go for touch ups twice a year). id highly recommend them to anyone who is considering laser hair removal!! they give the results you want, and are safe and i was very compfortable around julie and her staff... read more
