This is one old restaurant that many travelers and truckers have used to this very day. When me and a friend used to go there. We used to enjoy there breakfasts and sometimes a salad and some other foods. But we've notice so many different gals coming and going which is I guess a normal thing when it comes down to working in restaurants. But some of those waitresses weren't very polite and they decide to go on their own time, so other words it's like forget it, you'll be sitting there for God knows how long until someone decides to serve you. What ashame to see this going on, but it's pretty much everywhere anymore. But ℹ remember there were 3-4 you girls sitting waiting for their food and the waitress started to bring them their food and all the sudden a big roach came out and scared all of them and they let right away and I would have done the same thing. Roaches and food never mix. So this place has many other roaches that are manifesting under warm environments like behind wall adapters to hiding behind the walls of the kitchen. And anywhere else that they could hide. We were staying nearby and wanted some diner-style home-cooked food. This place was touted to fit that description so we stopped in. They had some tables blocked off for seating to facilitate social distancing, and the staff was wearing masks. It wasn't too busy so it was easy to stay separated from others. My husband ordered the hot turkey open-faced sandwich that came with mashed potatoes and cranberries. He said it tasted very good. I ordered the chicken fried steak with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It came with a side salad (or soup if you choose) and a dinner roll. The steak appeared to be a fresh patty rather than frozen and the mashed potatoes were not the instant kind. The green beans were buttery and tasty. The dinner roll was light and fluffy with a hint of sweetness. The side salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing had yummy chunks in it as I prefer. There was plenty of food in my meal, and I may have overeaten a bit just to finish it all up. This is a good place to stop for a sit-down meal if you are willing to brave the freeway exit semi-truck and car traffic trying to get to the gas station across the street. read more

My side salad was cold, fresh & crispy & was nearly a meal in itself. Because they were out of their chicken fried steak, I ordered a steak sandwich. The meat was thin, slightly overcooked, somewhat chewy, but had a delightful flavor. It was about what I expected, so I wasn't disappointed. My friend got a veggie omelet off of their senior menu and said she thought it was well worth the 15 minute drive we had to get there. Although the service was somewhat erratic, we were served promptly and all of the food was very good. We'll definitely be back! read more

We returned to give this place a try. This time there were 6 of us. Food was excellent but service not so good. The vegetable beef soup was fantastic. Most of us had this added to our meal and we were very pleased. Two others got the salads and they were not happy at all. Neither would the rest of us had we ordered the salad. Iceberg lettuce is crispy. This was leafy, limp lettuce. So, note to self, don't order their salads. Liver & onions isn't offered every where but it is fantastic here. Five of us ordered and everything there was really, really good. Kudos to the chef. Now about the service. Getting our server finally to our table took a bit. The other two servers told her we were waiting and eventually she came. She wasn't rude but she wasn't at all friendly. Refills on drinks? We had a refill while we were waiting for her to take our order but was never offered one after we ordered. Our glasses of water and tea were virtually empty through most of the meal. Needless to say, poor service means low tip. It would have been different had the restaurant been packed but it was not. read more

My husband was craving a "commercial" - open-faced turkey sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. We were heading from Tucson to Chandler and found this place around Casa Grande. I was skeptical based on the outside appearance and some of the reviews, but it was a hidden gem! His meal was so good and he ate every last bite of it! (I did get to sample some and it was very good!) I was undecided between the club, the philly and a burger and the waitress recommended the club. It was also very good, especially when I drizzled their home-made ranch dressing on top. As you can see from the photos, the portions are huge too. We would definitely come back! I took my grandchildren there tonight and spent $73 ridiculous because the food was so bad there was only three people in that restaurant and the service was horrible we didn't get what we asked for I got the chicken enchiladas and there was barely any chicken my granddaughter asked for and eggs and home fries and they brought her scrambled eggs and hash browns then when I asked where the ham was they brought me a bowl of chopped up little pieces of ham my grandson had just a bowl of pasta noodles and they weren't even done my other granddaughter asked for tacos with just cheese on them and they brought them with everything on it and beans and rice it was horrible and I've been going there for years and I never wrote a review but it was so bad tonight I don't think we'll be going back read more

I have had both decent and less than stellar experiences here. The food? Always fresh and delicious. Service? Sometimes fast other times not so much but I've never really expected it to be a fast food joint so that's not really a complaint. The atmosphere? A little on the disheveled side. It really could use a face-lift. I sliced my leg open on a protruding staple that had come loose from keeping the vinyl upholstery secured to a booth bench. The staff was very helpful in their quick response to the situation and general first aid but it wouldn't have even been a problem with a little basic preventative maintaining. A group of friends from work, every Sunday we like to have breakfast in different restaurants around Casa Grande , we came to try this place because last week we tried the other restaurant that is a cross the freeway, "The IronSkilley" and high had good food and friendly staff, unfortunately, in this restaurant our waiter was rushing us, when we ask what the special "which was posted in the entrance" came with she didn't knew then she answered with an attitude and since not all our guest were ready she walked away and came back later and asked if we were ready, we already had talked about going to a different restaurant so we just ask for the check, just to pay for our coffee. Perhaps she was having a bad day that's was she was extremely rude. This was my experience, first time there and never going back. Good luck and hope you have a better experience. read more

Never go here. We sat down and ordered our food and drinks. It took about 15 minutes with very few people at this place. The food wasn't that great and when we got the bill, we asked why the price was higher than the menu price. She replied with "We forgot to update our prices". I said "We're not paying that and ask for the manager." Quickly she said he wasn't available for a few days. So I only paid what the original and asked her why the tax incorrectly calculated by 2% based off the recipient and she advised it's programmed for the current rate. Again, I only paid what the original cost and the right TPT tax. At first, she was reluctant to accept the correct amount. So I said "If you disagree, contact your manager that's not available for a few days or accept this payment." She accepted the payment and I canceled my card immediately after since this was a shady experience. read more

We went there and they were not very busy, but when the very rude waitress came to get our order she was racist and when I asked for the manager they told me to just leave and never come back. Been here a couple times because recently discovered the place. This is now my go to place when in the area instead of those crappy places, Iron Skillet and Country Pride. I've even decided to skip Omar's at the Triple T as it has started to go downhill and just as overpriced. The place is run by Mexicans and most of the customers are to. However the service is good. The food is pretty darn good. Yesterday I had the mushroom and cheese omelet with biscuits and gravy. Very good. They sure didn't skimp on the mushrooms. The biscuits and gravy were much better than any I've had in the south where everyone thinks they are far superior cooks. I work construction and so I travel a fair amount. I have been to this particular restaurant while working at the nearby mine. My company has had me work in this area a few times now and I avoid this place every time after now. The decorum is definitely out of date, and while thats not necessarily a deal breaker for delicious dinning, it looked on the run-down side. Cleanliness was good, food tasted cheap. Let's see! Why wouldn't I recommend this establishment? First of all, I asked for a cup of hot tea, and they informed me,that they were out. How does a restaurant, run out of tea bags? Secondly, the water tastes like it came. From a benjo. I ordered a Denver omelet, with hash browns & toast, and it was mediocre, at best. I don't know, how they manage to stay in business.
