Rating 5 's all the way!! 35 minutes before closing, ordered the veggie panini, chicken panini and Ruben, with a small potatoe salad and apple garden salad. It was prepared for take home. Clean location, abundance of outdoor seating, well maintained inside and out. It's definitely a little hidden amongst the offices surrounding it, but worth the look. The Vegan panini was so light and fresh. The wheat bread almost melted in my mouth. The ingredients were a lovely garden blend, supet savory and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite. I loved the potato salad, I'd have to say this is up there with one of my favorites. This one has a particularly sweet flavor to it, but it mixes so well! The Ruben and chicken sandwich were a hit and banana bread is up there as well! Will be coming back again and most definitely recommend. This little cafe is a lifesaver when I forget my lunch, want to add to my lunch (chips or drink), need some wheat toast for breakfast, hot green tea, or a snack...lol. They have a lot to offer. It's owned by a very nice gentleman named Mr. Lee. His wife and a few employees help with the business. I've been coming here for about 7-8 years now. They recently finished construction and remodeled the place under the new property management this year. It's so much better now. I love the lounge area with the couches and TV, outside seating is better. You can actually come and relax instead of sitting at your desk or one of the hard benches outside. I really love the orange; it makes it pop and is inviting. I'm also glad about the addition of the ATM. For lunch, I usually order the chicken avocado wrap. When it's cold outside, I get the chili or the soup of the day. My husband loves getting his morning coffee and boiled egg if he needs breakfast and for a quick lunch a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (he's a big kid). It's also convenient for visitors that come to the CDT Training Center for their classes/workshops. Sometimes breaks and lunches aren't that long to go drive to any of the other food/restaurant spots that are close by. The staff is friendly and you can order ahead if you don't have time to wait. A gem of an establishment in Rancho Cordova. Golden Bean is a delicious spot for breakfast and lunch as well as coffee! Delicious sandwich, salads and soup options. They also have various favorites for vegetarians as well as meat lovers. Whether you're craving a healthy salad, a cold sandwich or a warm panini, this place is a great option for you. Yeah, this place is a bummer. If you are at CIO in training, you are basically a captive audience and if you are hungry enough, you will stop by this place. I got the breakfast burrito with bacon two times here. "With bacon" is kind of cute. They prepare the burrito so that when they cut it in half, it appears to have a couple of strips of bacon in there. Then you take a bite, and all of the bacon is gone. In one bite. I think they take one piece, break it in half, place it in the center of the burrito where they will cut, and call it good. It is essentially an egg and cheese burrito with salsa and sour cream on the side. All for about $7. RIP OFF. By the end of training I had smartened up and got breakfast elsewhere. They also will not let you use your card unless you spend $5, but luckily it only takes one (underwhelming) breakfast burrito to get there. read more

My motivation to visit and review this unremarkable cafe came from my pal Rachel Z, whose review introduced me to another coffee shop in my area that I'd never heard of. She'll have to forgive me if my review echoes hers in a lot of ways. I came in to the office building only because I was visiting some businesses for work. A pretty nice, down to earth couple greeted me and I ordered a tea (no coffee for these guts) and a BLT with avocado - per Rachels written suggestion. The BLT was so so. The bread was a little soggy and the avocado a little soft. The whole sandwich was a little off, but I devoured it anyway considering my late afternoon hunger. I washed it down with a fairly tasteless cup of tea. This is a good spot to visit if you work in the immediate vicinity. Otherwise, I can think of a lot of coffee shops with a lot more personality. read more

This place isn't half bad and it's located right in my work's building... So for the coffee fix in the mid-afternoon when I'm on a deadline and can't go to Starbucks...I go here When I forget my breakfast in the morning and start getting the hunger pains right in the pit of my stomach, I go here. When I really don't want another Jamba Juice for lunch...I go here! This little ol cafe is run by Sophia and her husband. Super friendly service! She remembers your name, past orders, what you're likely to order...it's pretty amazing. I come in, and she goes right for the medium size coffee cup for my drip. When I order on the phone, she says, "Oh hi Rachel..." Sophia is awesome! I love her conscientiousness for the customer. She's always spot on, and she works her tail off...since half the time there's only one person working here since more and more offices have been vacating and the customers have dwindled. What I recommend is the tomato bisque, BLT with avocado and the sesame seed bagels. It may not be the greatest cafe in the world, but it's just too damn convenient to pass up. read more

Although, portions aren't very big and for this reason its a little expensive. I wish the sandwiches had more meat. Their special on Wednesdays is the best, Chili Dog with everything on it. I work upstairs from their café and the ladies & gent running this place could not be nicer. They take orders over the phone, everything is always hot. Price can add up rather quickly, and the chicken in their sammies isn't fresh chicken its the processed packaged chicken so that is my only flaw with this café. The highlight of this eatery is its convenient location (at least for me). It is located within the business complex in which I work. Often I just don't feel like driving somewhere for lunch and would rather take a short walk to GB cafe. My favorites are "Chili Dog Wednesdays," and their "Vanilla Freeze," which is a frap-style vanilla coffee drink (best I've tasted). A little pricey, depending on what you order, but most places are nowadays. Selection is somewhat limited, and if you eat there often enough you may find yourself wanting, but staff is very friendly and accommodating and it's easy to request a "special order" to change things up a bit. I have been going to this cafe for 6 years. The people there are awesome and they are pretty quick on getting orders out. I love their breakfast burritos. For lunch I love their salads or their chicken avocado wrap. If I need a pick me up they make a good iced coffee with a shot of espresso. Delicious food in a convenient location! They have a rather large menu for being a small cafe inside a business complex. I will admit they are a little expensive for what you get. However, some items are big winners such as the Philly Cheese Steak (the only one i'll ever eat - I usually don't like them), the BLT on croissant, and their Mango Smoothie is to die for! Most of the rest of the menu is pretty basic. They have a huge selection but a lot of the items kinda comes out "plain/basic" tasting imo. I said I would boycott this place due to the increase of prices. But I was too hungry this morning so I gave in. Again was disappointed... I ordered a breakfast bagel came out to $4.30. Normally the boss man and lady would just swipe my debit card and be fine with it. But this mexican lady always say there will be a 75 cent charge since it's not 5 bucks... really?! This place is more for the surrounding businesses. I can't imagine anyone else coming to this place. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a decent place. The owner is nice. I feel bad because he always calls me out by my name but I forgot his. I'm too much of a coward to ask him to run his name by me again. It's been three years I've been dragging this on. Okay now for the food, it use to be the panini sandwiches but now I mostly go for the avocado chicken spinach wrap. I think that's what it's called. Close enough... Anyways, It's tasty, slightly toasted so it's warm, and I guess you can even consider it healthy. Big and filling so don't worry about getting your man card revoked if you order this.
