Simple breakfasts done extremely well. Even the ones on the senior menu. It's been awhile since we did a weekend breakfast anywhere. Even longer since it was to a place that does it as nicely as here. The hash browns are generously done and amazingly not greasy. The bacon is cooked to perfection and is fairly lean (as bacon goes). For over 60 seniors who have slightly diminished appetites, there is also a senior menu of 3 egg as with diced potatoes or hash browns, bacon or sausage. What a fun stop on our way to a convention! We had to come by for their signature beignets! It came with three different jams underneath (DELICIOUS!! Not too sweet). The ooey gooey jams counterbalanced the crispy beignets so well. Our server was wonderful at checking in and making sure we had water. Our food came super quickly too! the interior is like an all American dinner with plenty of seating! The crab cake Benedict wasn't my favorite because the hollandaise sauce was a little thick and the crab cake was a bit burnt but the hashbrowns were good and crispy! First time eating at Huckleberry's! I always pass by it, but I got a chance to try them for breakfast. They have a lot of options on their menu. I like the southern hospitality vibes that the restaurant gives. The servers are friendly and food came out quick! The portions are good and skillets come with your choice of a muffin, biscuit, or toast. I got the Dixieland skillet and the presentation was great! It did have a lot of potatoes, but the veggies, eggs and thin pieces of steak helped balance it out. The fried okra is a yummy appetizer and it comes with 2 different sauces! They were nice enough to say I could bring him in his little bag because he's tiny but I opted out it's an indoor restaurant and I knew he wouldn't sit still. But the energy and service was 10/10 for just being considerate. Now let's get into the food. I wanted to try the fried green tomatoes and I'd give it a 4/10 the crunch was amazing but the flavor was missing for me I feel like if they seasoned the tomatoes before the batter them they would be better than having the seasoning all over the plate, the sauce was ok. I came here on my dad's birthday and I've been here a few other times. It's always a solid spot! I got an omelette that came with toast and a huge serving of hash browns. Stopped in here because our favorite mongolian bbq was closed and were not disappointed! The atmosphere is so cute, reminds you of being in Disneyland. Every now and then I'll get a craving for the flavors I came across during a trip to New Orleans or 'Nawlins and all I've ever come across are restaurants that serve beignets in Sacramento. Unbeknownst to me there is a diner franchise, Huckleberry's, with a Bayou theme and a New Orleans/southern cookin' inspired menu. This was such a fun dining experience and I can't wait to return. I love the kitschy bayou theme and the decorations put a smile on my face. I experienced friendly service and a clean environment. To top it all off the food was better than expected diner fare. Everything came out really quickly even though the restaurant was busy and the food came out hot and tasted fresh. Nothing was stale. Huck's iced tea had the right amount of sweetness and the beignets were light and airy. I really enjoyed the monte cristo sandwich. It was the perfect sweet and savory combo for breakfast/brunch. The go-to after-church spot. Usually diner type American food is just gross. Denny's IHOP Norms all just kinda fail and you accept it. This is good stuff though. I went with the combo of all breakfast items which was some plate by Tom I wanna say, it had eggs, red potatoes, chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy. Everything was stellar and that chicken fried steak was bomb. Just the biscuit was pretty meh. I've never had a good biscuit from a diner so I'll just avoid that next time. Good service and all six of us were seated quickly on a packed Sunday. Other stuff I've tried that I'd avoid: chicken n waffles. Had to. Just don't, the chicken sucks. Don't get that chicken waffle sandwich either it's just gross. Not sure about their regular chicken strips but don't say I didn't warn you. Honestly this is a great breakfast brunch spot. Especially for children. The vibe is set the moment you walk in with the fake alligator. The line to way is 10-15 minutes at peak brunch hour on a Saturday (11:30am). There were plenty of tables available however I think they were short on staffing. Our waitress was busy but she was good. I wasn't expecting the service to be that good with such young staff however they were working their tails off. The mimosas were eh OK. The Bloody Mary was actually pretty good. The menu is packed full of fried foods and other Louisiana type fair. This is our first time at this Micron location in Rancho Cordova. We were greeted and seated upon entering. Our server Aidania has excellent customer service skills. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered Grill Catfish creole style, scrambled Eggs, Bell Peppers, Onions with mushrooms and I had the Grill Catfish creole style with Eggs over medium and a side order of the Buttered Waffle.
