Another option would have been to table the conversation for a later time or on a different day until more information was available. What began as a discussion about a product concern quickly became focused on a employee instead of the issue itself. The manager appeared to become frustrated, stated to understand the main concern, yet responded with an unnecessarily intense tone and level of defensiveness. There was considerable deflection, repetition, and what felt like half-truths rather than a sincere effort to work toward a mutual solution. The manager should remember that they represent the Root of Happiness brand. We have been patronizing Root of Happiness for at least 10 years, long before the owners expanded to the Roseville, Midtown, and Rocklin locations. Additionally, over the last few weeks, the Justin's Peanut Butter Cups have seemed unusually dry. It may be the result of a bad batch from the vendor or the effects of extreme weather conditions impacting the product's quality.

I finally stopped by after picking up something small at Chick Fil A next door. When I pulled up into the drive thru, there was a sign that said that the speaker was currently not working so had to go up to the drive thru window to order. Luckily there was no line when I was there! I pulled up to the drive thru window and initially ordered an Iced Vanilla Matcha. Unfortunately, they were out of matcha so I ended up going with my usual second choice drink which was an Iced Vanilla Chai. I also asked for light ice so it's not too much ice. The drink was made pretty quick so I didn't have to wait too long. I took a sip and was very pleased with their Vanilla Chai drink given it was my first time trying a drink from here! You can definitely taste the chai which was subtle and the vanilla sweetener made it even better. Will definitely try this place again to see how their Vanilla Matcha is! I've never had mead and found out it is fermented honey and more like a hard cider than wine. They source their honey from Woodland and Fresno. She even gave us a sample of honey they use. We got the flight, I was a little bummed they didn't offer very many flavors to choose from but was told they had a huge batch of their base fail and they had to toss it leaving them with not very many options. Which I get, stuff happens so I can't dock them for that. We did get traditional, pomegranate, blanc, hard cider and mix of traditional and the hard cider. I really enjoyed them all. It was like a sweet version of a basic hard cider with a hint of sour. At the end we opted for a bottle of the Pomegranate mead to take home but now I'm wishing we got some traditional too. Just another reason to come back I guess. They did say give them a month to get their new batch made so they can have more flavors on tap, so in a month we'll be back. The Super Onion Bagel is my favorite because it's topped with red onions baked right into the bagel, giving it amazing flavor in every bite. What really sets this place apart isn't just the food--it's the hospitality. This is a family-run business, and they genuinely make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. They remember their customers, greet everyone with a smile, and truly appreciate the people who support them. That's something you don't find everywhere. We purchased one sausage and egg bagel and one spinach and egg bagel. The prices are also decent and reasonable compared to the bigger bagel chains. We will definitely be back for more! Parking has easy access off Olson. It's located by the Jamba Juice and in the Ross shopping center plaza.
