The food was beyond delicious! The food was hot and the portions were a good size for the price.

Easy to place a carryout order; we were in the area for a night and needed to get some food before we went to our destination. We ordered "crispy" beef; "szechuan" chicken, 2 egg rolls, and chicken fried rice. The beef was not crispy and very, very sweet, the chicken was not spicy at all, 5 times the veggies than chicken, covered in a red "jelly" (It was gross), the rice was very tasteless and the chicken was not integrated into the rice just plopped on top, and even the white rice that came with it smelled weird. The egg roll we shared was ok, nothing to say. The service was quick and the lady at the counter was nice and gave us extra soy sauce and hot mustard like we asked. It cost $48 and I left them a 20% tip. We could hardly eat any of it, and dumped it. Expensive lesson, but Front Royal is hardly a destination spot for good food. read more

Sometime the sauce and hot and sour soup is really thick and really gross, a consistency of jelly. I just cant eat it anymore turn my stomach upside down. If they fixed that issue, its fine. read more

We got some takeout this week. Very disappointing. We ordered 4 items. They gave us the same "sauce" with 3 of them. The "sauce" was WAY too thick! It was more like the consistency of jelly. And it wasn't very good. They do get 1 star because the egg rolls were good. read more

Dirty windows should have been the first tip off, interior didn't get any better. A good cleaning inside this place would be a great place to start. Food on the buffet was not hot (not even warm) many of the selections on the buffet were gone, or almost gone and nothing was replenished. Anything fried was way over cooked. This was quite frankly awful, they seemed to have a very big call for carry out (service was also poor because the one person on the floor was on the phone taking orders for the majority of the time) This place needs to get it's act together in a huge way. read more

The negative reviews here are clearly from customers who enjoy Americanized Chinese food. This restaurant offers delicious, authentic Chinese dishes at very affordable prices (especially affordable for me because my brother and his wife paid for mine on my first trip) and wonderful service. The waitress was so kind and attentive. Definitely order off of the menu as this is the best way to enjoy their entrees. My favorites were the rice noodles and General Tso's chicken. This place is not getting the attention it deserves. My family dines here a few times a month and it is always consistently good and the portions are huge and very reasonably priced! I used to work in town and ate here a couple times a week for a couple years. Always had the lunch buffet. If you get the food right as it's put out, it's fantastic. If it's been sitting there a while, it's mediocre. Veggies were always overcooked/soggy. Heavy on the sauces. There was never any variety/always the same thing. The hot and sour soup was supurb IF you didn't get a bite of the nasty beef in it. Excellent fried dumplings. If you get the salt and black pepper chicken as it's put out, that's to die for... and it's so unhealthy that it'll take a couple days off your life, but it's worth it because it's so delish. A very good deal for the price and the best Chinese food in Front Royal, but all in all, a very average restaurant with average food. That doesn't say a lot about the Chinese dining options in town, as the rest are BELOW average. I do recommend anyone try the lunch buffet once and decide for yourself. read more

The ONLY Chinese restaurant I will order from locally. Lunch/Dinner Buffet is good, just be sure you don't go close to their end time. I usually prefer take-out and its quick and consistent! I like to add items to my favorite entree and they are always glad to do so! There are quite a few options for true Chinese food in this small town. Golden China is a family owned restaurant and they have been in this community for over 15 years. The owner is usually always there and always says hello. I always order take out from this place and it's great. Every time I've gone in to pick up an order during lunch time the buffet was fresh and looked good so I decided to try the buffet. There was only one table in use and the lady chose to sit my daughter and I at a table where the table and bench slanted. Not to mention it was right next to the already occupied table. I've never understood why in an empty restaurant you sit people literally right next to each other smh....my apologies, I digressed lol. Anyway, we moved to another table, I ordered water and to the buffet we went for our first plate. The lady's son was running around so she wasn't paying too much attention to the buffet. I had to request they replenish a couple of items and they quickly complied. Some of the dishes were better than others. The meat was tougher and drier than I'm used to with them and the water tasted like a garden hose. The little boy was playing around the fruit/dessert table and touching the plates (which she never removed) so I didn't get anything from that side. She came to clear the table; without saying excuse me she reached across me as I was eating. At that point I put my fork down and was ready to go. Considering I enjoy their food and usually order lunch combos I was HIGHLY disappointed with my eating in experience. Needless to say I will never eat in again! I usually give a place a chance or two before I completely write them off and I am glad I do. I have not even thought about this establishment in 5 or so years. One night after my daughters football practice I decided to come here for dinner with two of my children. I am glad we did the food was hot and fresh. The only down was the decor was outdated, the place was definitely showing it's age, but that had no affect on the food. The waitress middle aged asian lady she wasn't very nice, but wasn't very rude so kind of middle of the road in personality. I would come back again if I was craving chinese food. read more

Yelp really needs a rating below one star because that is what I would give this dump. Do not eat here. Not only was the food dried out, old, and bland at 12:30 when we went for lunch, We were the only people there eating. That should have tipped us off. When I told her at the register that the food was terrible she then told me that I was rude. I paid for our meal in full and explained to her that she should be able to take feedback from their customers. I found a hair in my fried rice and she wanted me to go find it and show it to her. I do think that you can tell the cleanliness of a restaurant by its restrooms and theirs were filthy. Do yourself a favor and find another place to eat. read more

They had NO food at this place and we showed up right around noon. The servers were cleaning green beans on one of the tables which seems unsanitary to me. The one server actually working followed us up to the buffet and asked what we would like them to make, um, I go to a buffet for choices, if I wanted to tell you what to bring me I would have gone somewhere else. Super friendly service, super fast delivery. My fav dish is the Pepper Chicken with the Green Beans. Nice combo of sweet and spicy. Pot Stickers are yummy and the Combo Lo Mein is very good. Declaration: Best Chinese restaurant ever. Absolutely loved it. I did a take out. Had 2 combo dinners. My egg foo yong was really good. I picked up a rib combo dinner for my son.
