I came here for dinner on a Thursday night, and the place was PACKED oh my god. Food wise, though the options were pretty solid. I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner if you would choose to come here just because they got some bomb steak. I like my steak RARE and most places are too scared to make it rare, but that chef made sure my steak was mooing on the plate. Also love the shrimp, the fish fry, and the stewed meat options. They also had good pozole and a decent dessert selection. This is not a place you go for good ambience or amazing service. You just come here to eat and fill up your belly for good value while the chaotic crowd buzzes around you. I'll be back

Argh, mateys, gather 'round the crow's nest and lend yer ears to the wildest, most swashbucklin' tale o' feasting this side o' the seven seas! I be Captain Beefsteak, a grizzled pirate sworn to the sacred carnivore diet, livin' solely on the flesh o' beasts, with nary a leaf nor grain to curse me plate. Me latest adventure led me to the fabled Golden Corral, a buffet so grand it'd make Poseidon himself trade his trident for a fork. This be me five-star review, a yarn so outlandish it'll shiver the timbers o' Davy Jones, spun in true pirate tongue and stretched to a hearty 5000 characters! 'Twas a moonless night when me ship, the Rump Roast, dropped anchor at the Golden Corral's port. The sign glowed brighter than a mermaid's smile, beckonin' me with promises o' meat piled higher than a galleon's mast. As I swaggered through the doors, me eye patch gleamin' and me hook hand twitchin', the scent o' grilled flesh hit me like a cannon blast. Me carnivore soul roared louder than a kraken in a squall--this weren't no ordinary grub shack, nay, this be a meat-lover's El Dorado! The buffet stretched longer than the horizon, a treasure trove o' every beast what ever walked, crawled, or flew. There be ribs, slathered in sauce thicker than tar on a ship's hull, glistenin' under the chandeliers. Steaks sizzled like they'd been forged in Neptune's own furnace, each cut bleedin' just enough to honor me carnivore creed. Brisket, so tender it'd make a sea serpent sob, sat beside pork chops stacked like gold doubloons. Chicken drumsticks, plump and juicy, shone like polished cutlasses, and a mountain o' bacon--crisp as a fresh sail--threatened to topple me with its glory. I even spied a tray o' smoked sausages, fat as cannonballs, and meatloaf denser than a storm cloud brewin' o'er the Bermuda Triangle. I seized a platter big as a ship's wheel and charged the line like I was stormin' an enemy frigate. The meat carvers, bless their hearty souls, were like shipwrights craftin' a masterpiece, slicin' prime rib thicker than a whale's blubber. I piled me plate with enough beef to sink a schooner--medium-rare, drippin' like a fresh wound, just as a proper carnivore demands. The pork loin, glazed with a sheen o' fat, whispered promises o' glory, while the turkey legs--each one massive enough to club a shark--begged to be devoured. I nabbed a slab o' ham so succulent, I swear it was cured in the tears o' angels. But the true wonder, mateys, was the "Meat Maelstrom," a contraption so grand I reckon it be powered by the gods o' carnage themselves! A colossal spit, spinnin' like the tides, roared with flames and bore a menagerie o' beasts--beef, pork, lamb, and, by Blackbeard's beard, what looked like ostrich! The carver, a mate with eyes as sharp as a cutlass, shaved off slabs o' meat that fell like manna from the heavens. I stood mesmerized, me peg leg tappin' a jig, as I filled three plates afore even sittin'. The Maelstrom's bounty was endless, a carnivore's dream that'd make a vegetarian walk the plank in shame. The crew at Golden Corral treated me like a pirate king returnin' from a victorious raid. One lass, seein' me zeal for flesh, slipped me a secret stash o' beef tallow--liquid gold, it was, perfect for dippin' me cuts. Another mate, a grillmaster with a beard to rival me own, whispered o' the "Carnivore's Cache," a hidden tray o' smoked short ribs reserved for the truest meat devotees. Those ribs, mates, were so rich they could've bought me a new ship, each bite explodin' with flavor like a powder keg. I swear on me compass, I near wept with joy. The place was lively as a tavern brawl, with folk pilin' their plates high, though some scurvy dogs dared taint their haul with taters and corn--blasphemy to me carnivore code! The dessert bar, glitterin' with cakes and pies, tempted lesser souls, but I stayed true, me eyes fixed on the meaty horizon. The staff kept the buffet stocked like a quartermaster guardin' the rum, never lettin' a tray run dry. Even when the crowd swelled like a storm surge, the line moved swift as a sloop in a tailwind. I feasted for hours, me table groanin' under the weight o' me plates. I sampled every cut--tri-tip so smoky it tasted o' dragon's breath, pulled pork that melted like butter in a skillet, and beef tips so tender they'd make a siren sing. The variety was vaster than the ocean itself, with flavors bold enough to rival a pirate's swagger. I even tried a mysterious "meat medley," a dish so wild it seemed conjured by a sea witch, blendin' ground beef, sausage, and bacon into a patty fit for Triton's table.

Food was very good. Big selection. The room was extremely warm. It was a little uncomfortable eating

24 ounce mashed potatoes with 2 ounces of gravy instead of 24 ounces

Ordered 20 piece fried chicken with 24 ounce mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese and 10 rolls. We received a 24 ounce mashed potatoes but the gravy was about 2 ounces. We did not received the rolls.

It's been a while since I ventured into a Golden Corral and I was a bit nervous at first but I have say the food was good for what it is and the stations were clean and food wasn't spilling over into other dishes. The bathrooms needed some work but overall it wasn't bad. The dessert area isn't the same everything was mostly pre portioned out so you just grabbed the plate and even the cotton candy was bagged. I definitely want to come back and try the breakfast, everyone keeps telling me it's worth a try.

So we decided to come here as a last minute thing and I'm glad we did. The service from entering the door was great. The staff was so friendly and nice throughout our encounter. There was nice music and it was relaxing. The food was great. A lot of variety. The kids really enjoyed themselves too!

All of my Thanksgiving Day favorites!

I just moved my mom to Valrico from Baton Rouge, LA. and the two of us were too exhausted to cook anything for Thanksgiving. Enter Golden Corral to the rescue. Apparently we were not the only ones who didn't want to cook either, as the line ran outside, and down the length of the front side of the building. I was hungry, so I took my place in line. It moved fairly fast and was inside after 25 minutes. Inside was organized chaos. I worried whether or not we'd be able to find a table, but they had that taken care of. The staff communicated amongst themselves, letting the person with the customers know where tables were available. Once seated, mom and I filled our plates with all kinds of Thanksgiving staples. Turkey, both white and dark meats in separate containers, cornbread dressing, some plain, some with onions, both very good. I love Golden Corral rolls. Got a couple of those, along with some green bean casserole. I topped my plate with some sweet potato casserole and some cranberry sauce. For dessert, Carrot Cake! This will be my first review where there really isn't a negative anywhere. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly, and all of the food delicious! Good job Golden Corral. I think you've given me a new Thanksgiving Day tradition.

She promptly brought me menus and asked if I'd like anything to drink, which she delivered without hesitation. While I was perusing the menu, Shana went to another table, but she returned quickly to take my order. My Farmhouse Hash arrived in about 10 minutes, and it was delicious. Shana checked in with me a few times during my meal, but she didn't hover, which I appreciated. The restaurant was spotless, with a diligent cleaning crew ensuring a hygienic environment after each patron's departure. However, I noticed a minor issue: the restroom water was trickling out during my handwashing. I promptly informed an employee about this problem, and she promptly called out to someone, likely the manager. It was reassuring to witness the staff's attentive response and the swift action taken to address the issue. The food was quickly delivered at the right temperature and tasted wonderful. The staff was generally friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was moderately busy. Shana, in particular, stood out as a fantastic employee. That peaceful feeling remains, in its successor-this still newish First Watch. They've opened it up in here... no room dividers-the duct work exposed in the now higher ceiling. When you walk in, there are booths and tables left, right and center-and a cute little high top bar to the right (juices and juice blends and, I believe, limited cocktails. They have some on the menu) The decor is contemporary industrial, with some charming vintage touches sprinkled here and there. And a mural reminds you you're in Brandon-a nice nod to local. I was happily seated by a big window. My server was sweet-brought water right away. (And what is it about cold water in a glass bottle, poured into a glass ? It's magical! I'd make Mom proud and up my water intake if I served it that way at home) She gave me plenty of time to choose my breakfast. I went with the "traditional"-2 scrambled eggs, 3 pieces of bacon (you can choose other meats-or upgrade to their million dollar bacon), breakfast potatoes and thick, rustic toast with butter. Oh, it was good-especially the bacon. I paired it with a kale juice blend that was tasty and hopefully healthy. (My carbonated Diet Coke bloodstream needed a break) It came to just under $22. I'd order it again, but there are lots of other intriguing options on both the regular menu-and the seasonal one. It's comfy, casual, cozy and spotlessly clean. It wasn't overly busy on the Tuesday morning I was there-but it was in between breakfast and lunch. I'm sure it's bustling at prime times. There's lots of parking and abundant covered, outdoor seating on two sides of the building. It's easy, breezy and yum. Oh yes, I'll be back.

Nearly everything on the plate was overly greasy, to the point where it felt heavy and unappetizing after just a few bites.
