I'm surprised to be giving a Golden Corral five stars but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, freshness, friendly service, cleanliness and presentation at the Brandon location. We took a road trip from NY to Tampa and are heading back. My son requested Golden Corral since we don't have them on Long Island. While I like scoping out local places, this was just what we needed to keep us full for a long drive back north. I try to eat healthy and it was easy to do here. I had a gorgeous salad, some good proteins (pork; chicken, pot roast) and some veggies. I'm full but not stuffed and my son had tacos, shrimp, tons of dessert and mac and cheese. I've never heard anything good about Golden Corral but decided it's time to try it on a Friday night when most restaurants are busy with a wait time. We walked into the restaurant and approached a cashier who took payment for our 2 meals and two drinks. Pricing appears to be dependent on weekday or weekend, lunch or dinner, and child or adult. $18 per adult for weekend dinner. $3.50 for a fountain drink. For an all you can eat dinner, that is not a bad price at all. After paying you can seat yourself and begin serving yourself. They have plenty to offer but I can list some of what they have. Salad bar, tacos, pot roast, meat loaf, fried chicken, fried fish and shrimp, grilled sirloin steak, pork roast, pork ribs, bourbon chicken, dessert bar... there's more including plenty of sides to go along with these. To be blunt, everything is mediocre, except for the steak. The steak was the best item by far. I asked for medium rare and that is what I got. The steak and pork roast were the two items that require an attendant to serve you. The worst item was the pepperoni pizza. It's just not good, don't eat it. The good part is that there are so many other things to try. The atmosphere was busy but not chaotic on a Friday night. Expect a lot of children; most tables were families. It's been awhile since we visited here, but that's because they are always so BUSY! We were lucky we found a place to park. This is a "Buffet" no they aren't too concerned about Atmosphere but it is nice enough for a Good Buffet Restaurant. A lot of families eat here because of the "Variety" of options they have that will appease most members of your family. My husband & I came for lunch on Saturday so the price is definitely reasonable. The service is always with a smile, they clear the plates quickly & there is always staff cleaning because people drop their food everywhere (like they don't care) but the staff does care. We came 8/1/2026 & the A/C was working just fine (I noticed a few reviews noting the heat). It is noisy (kids) but that is what you expect at a family place & family restaurants. You can get atmosphere, wine, expensive service & fixings elsewhere, here it's family style. We were happy with our experience, we always return. I came here for dinner on a Thursday night, and the place was PACKED oh my god. Food wise, though the options were pretty solid. I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner if you would choose to come here just because they got some bomb steak. It's been a while since I ventured into a Golden Corral and I was a bit nervous at first but I have say the food was good for what it is and the stations were clean and food wasn't spilling over into other dishes. The bathrooms needed some work but overall it wasn't bad. The dessert area isn't the same everything was mostly pre portioned out so you just grabbed the plate and even the cotton candy was bagged. I just moved my mom to Valrico from Baton Rouge, LA. and the two of us were too exhausted to cook anything for Thanksgiving. Enter Golden Corral to the rescue. Apparently we were not the only ones who didn't want to cook either, as the line ran outside, and down the length of the front side of the building. I was hungry, so I took my place in line. It moved fairly fast and was inside after 25 minutes. Inside was organized chaos. I worried whether or not we'd be able to find a table, but they had that taken care of. The staff communicated amongst themselves, letting the person with the customers know where tables were available. Once seated, mom and I filled our plates with all kinds of Thanksgiving staples. Turkey, both white and dark meats in separate containers, cornbread dressing, some plain, some with onions, both very good. I love Golden Corral rolls. Got a couple of those, along with some green bean casserole. I topped my plate with some sweet potato casserole and some cranberry sauce. For dessert, Carrot Cake! This will be my first review where there really isn't a negative anywhere. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly, and all of the food delicious! Good job Golden Corral. I have been coming to this golden coral for over 10 years and the service is still the same. It's a buffet with no time limit but this place can get packed quick- so make sure to come before noon on the weekends! Senior citizens over 60 get a small discount except on Sunday's. It's about 17/person on Sunday's and if you're over 60 your drink is included. No alcohol provided at this restaurant. They do have hand sanitizer posted on the wall in a couple different areas and their desert section includes bags of cotton candy- which was my favorite part! read more

Giving this four stars because you get soooo much food for your money. Lunch of less than $10 is what you get for a salad at some places. Here you get endless salad, fruit, veggies, meats, pizza, spaghetti, fish, burgers, tacos and so much more. Then too that off when a ton of sweet treats...so much that you can skip dinner. Not bad at all. The staff is pretty good here too. Waitresses clean up your empty plates and bring you drinks. Only issue I've seen is sometimes foods can get on the handles or they might run out of the popular items, but with so much to choose from you just grab an alternative. Food is generally pretty fresh...and not too bad on the quality either. This place packs them in every day so the food revolves pretty quickly on the popular items especially. Food is always fresh and tasty. Salad bar is nice. Meat selection is good although steaks tend to run fatty or tough. If you like rare or medium rare you may need to wait for one to cook. There is a very good variety of vegetables, a Chinese dish rot two and a taco bar. The deserts selection is nice, sometimes the ice cream machine works. I found the blueberry and lemon meringue pie are very good. While food is always fresh I find the best time for dinner is at 5:00. Less people make it easier to get around. read more

Tried to give suggestions on food that was not at the correct temperature, products being out of stock and the manager did not care at all. I've been to the Golden Corral Buffet several times, but this was the first time I went for brunch. I thought I would try them for breakfast at about 10 am, and was surprised to find lunch staples of sliced ham, tacos, fried fish, basically all the items you would find during lunch or dinner. In general I wouldn't expect to rate buffets very highly, but the trays were regularly rotated keeping the food fresh. I stuck mainly with the breakfast items as that was where my thoughts were at on entering, and was pleasantly surprise to find a station where you could order omelets or just eggs cooked to order. The quality was eggcellent (sorry couldn't help myself). The server for my section was very attentive, and did a good job at keeping my coffee cup filled. I did get up and get a glass of fresh orange juice on my own, along with a refill or two. The orange just tasted so good, I wondered if they added sugar to it. The Golden Coral is a real price performer, and a very nice experience if you go when they are not too crowded. read more

The floor was littered with food from people who evidently allow their children to drop food all over the floor. Kind of makes you wonder what their houses are like. Like the other Golden Corral all you can eat buffets they offer Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner buffets for the customer or customers to come and eat here. They offer Salads, Grilled steaks such as Raw, Medium rare, medium, medium well and well done or killed! Just becareful when you say Well done the cook will think you want raw or pink inside of your steak. Also a dessert bar for yummy tummy delicious items! :) Ever since they have new managers this Golden Corral has gone down hill most of the food isn't cooked right, cold, nasty tasting. The guys who grill the steaks half of the time they don't understand English I wish the managers would learn from this and hire someone who both can understand English so the customer doesn't have to find someone that understands both Languages. Don't get me wrong some days they have someone that cooks on the grill that understands on what the customer wants his or her steak cooked and taste like. This Golden Corral location gets extremely busy on the weekday mostly evening times and dinner times especially the weekend once the parking lot gets filled it's hard to find a parking spot. Also there are always big lines that form during the afternoon and night time during rush time so plan early to come and eat here. They do celebrate birthday's but you will have to call ahead or tell the cashier or waiter or waitress about it before hand. Now, for the sad part/news when my mother received the great news that she was in remission after her bone marrow biopsy came back negative we wanted to celebrate I called ahead and spoke with the day time manager he said come on in and let the cashier know or waiter or waitress now we spoke to a manager ahead of time and wanted to celebrate my mother's remission and when we got there the lady manager said ''WE DON'T CELEBRATE ANYTHING HERE'' in a rude tone''. I replied with then why your day general manager said you guys and ladies do? Then she said I don't know why he would say something like that. The lady wouldn't even offer a congratulations on receiving remission or have the employees come over and say congratulations at all. My mother was shocked that one person wanted to help celebrate that she reached remission from her cancer diagnosis and then when we came there it was a different story. Trust me the food isn't that great all trust me I've been here a few times the food isn't cooked at all like I said above, Food is always cold and nasty tasting. Plates, Silverware, Drink Cups always have stains or been used before. It's hard to get someone to do something about it some waiters and waitresses will offer to get new dishes and etc and some just ignore and take the dirty dishes away. I am moving to Brandon in a week. I have a sister who lives in the area. I live North of her. This Golden Corral is as good as the big Orlando location off of the I-4. The food is always good. They are very courteous to the seniors with senior pricing and they also have an app to get even more benefits to frequent dining. Lunch was about $11 of every conceivable item on the buffet bar. I know the waitresses, so nice and they are on it with refills and clearing dishes. The buffet is well taken care of where foods are at the right temp and you see them checking that often. What I especially like is this location has a few Latino dishes that don't disappoint such as plantains Maduros, black beans and Mexican taco bar with sides. Just delicious foods without stress. Eat, take your time and relax. No one bothers you. I like their dessert bar. Always kept well and yes, they have seasonal favorites like pumpkin pie around Thanksgiving, nice desserts around Christmas and generally lots of desserts including sugar free cake, sugar free chocolate pudding and sugar free jello. On December 3rd, I ordered from Golden Corral on Door Dash, and my order included a 24 ounce of macaroni salad. When I received a 24 ounce container of macaroni and cheese, I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a manager who apologized and told me to come in for the replacement. I went to the Golden Corral this evening to get some dinner to go from the line. When I went up front to pay for my food, I told the cashier about what happened with the macaroni salad, and showed her my order on the Door Dash app. The cashier was new, but kind, and she quickly went and got the manager (Joe). When the manager walked up, I started to tell him the story and he immediately became defensive and confrontational. First, he interrupted me and said, do you know the managers name. Then he interrupted me and said they don't sell macaroni salad there, as if he thought I was lying about the entire thing. Then he told me that I need to contact Door Dash because they do not handle any Door Dash issues in store. I continuously tried to explain that the manager of their restaurant never told me they didn't even sell macaroni salad and he asked me to come in, which is why I was there. Finally, he became frustrated and said, even if we sold macaroni salad, I would give it to you. I became upset, because I felt like he wasn't listening to anything I was saying and he came to the conclusion that I was some liar or cheat who was looking for free food. I then said to him that he was being disrespectful to me and that I did not even know if I wanted the food I had in front of me at the register. He then said, "If you take the food without paying for it I will call the police and you will be arrested for theft. I then said, I already paid for my food, I was referring to getting a refund. He then said, I can make that happen. We started going back and forth about his threat. Then I asked the cashier to call Joe's manager. While I was waiting for Joe's manager, another customer walked up to Joe and said that he had been waiting for over 20 minutes for Joe's manager to come to his table because he received raw meet. Joe turned to him and said, "well, he's busy." The customer then said, "he's too busy to speak to a paying customer about an issue." The customer was standing the proof on his plate in his hand. Joe then told him that if he did not calm down he would call the police and have him arrested. The customer increasingly became upset because of the unwarranted threat, then Jose came out and calmed the customer down. The customer was still upset. He continued to yell at Joe as he made his way to the door. He said, "whats your problem? You need to learn how to talk to customers. Your'e not supposed to treat customers like this." Jose then walked up to speak with me. I explained the matter to him, and he immediately apologized. He told me that they no longer sell macaroni salad, and if I reach out to Door Dash they should resolve the issue. He basically said the same thing that Joe said, but with respect and sincerity. I then explained to Jose that Joe is rude and disrespectful and he does not know how to treat customers. I am a business major who has extensive restaurant experience, and I have never seen or dealt with a person like Joe. I felt offended by how Joe treated me. I felt the need to log in to my bank account to show Jose that I have a substantial amount of money, and that I was not looking to con anyone out of macaroni salad. Jose told me he believed me. Joe took a small issue and made it worse. Joe is emotionally unstable, he lacks customer service skills, but most importantly, he lacks people skills. He does not know how to effectively handle conflict, and he is actually skilled in escalating matters, not deescalating them. Joe is a liability and he visibly makes Jose's job harder. Jose had to calm both myself and the other customer down after Joe's failed attempt of resolving basic issues. Because of this experience, I will never eat at another Golden Corral again! read more
