The staff were super friendly, welcoming (we were visiting from out of town, so we had to ask about stuff), and our waitress was very attentive about our drinks & taking dishes away, even telling us if something was low on the bar to let her know. Very much appreciated the ServSafe certificates on display, so you could see the whole staff were certified. Very clean, easy to navigate. Plenty of plates, bowls, and salad dishes to be had. The to-go cups were also cute. The food was DELICIOUS, some of the best friend chicken and cilantro-rice that I have had in an age. The dessert bar was well stocked, the salad bar was plentiful (they even have 3 kinds of greens and sesame seeds), and a little taco bar to make up tacos/nachos for yourself. My husband and I like to come here. Sometimes the service is good and sometimes it is fair. We do like the food. And they did a remodel on this restaurant and it is very nice. Usually if you go on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday it's not that bad to get a table, because it is not usually busy on those days. read more

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Aman, one of the managers, we felt at home. A quick scan of the food bars gave me the impression that the restaurant was well managed. Everyone behind the bar, when not replenishing the steam tables with fresh food out of the kitchen were wiping them clean. The place was spotless. That tells me a lot about the management team. Yes, I know that a buffet isn't exactly what you'd call "haute cuisine" but, as the founder of the company that supplies refrigerator gaskets to just about every restaurant in the United States and parts of Europe, I know a well-run establishment. The food was very fresh, juicy and delicious. As always, for the price, it's the best deal anywhere. I arrived a few minutes after 5pm. Immediately asked about fresh broccoli. And hour and a half I inquired again and was told it was recently put out on the bar by what I believe was the manager (short, fat, dark haired lady) and I know it was a lie and I know it was more than 90 mins old and was already 90 mins prior. I felt as though this bitch was insulting my intelligence. I was on the original crew that opened this establishment 28 years ago and I have 25 yrs experience as one of the best cooks in this town. The quality of the food has dropped along with the standards. We would've never gotten away with serving the crap they're trying to pawn off on paying guests and the company should be ashamed of how low their standards have dropped. You can't lie to a cook about the freshness of your product. I will never be back. I will tell everyone I know and my word is like gold when it comes to food. Pretty much you're standard Golden Corral Buffet, but this one is usually packed with the small town people of Chilicothe. Service is okay, food is pretty standard, but the crowds create huge messes in the bathrooms and I see kids drop silverware on the floor all the time, pick it back up and put it back in the silverware containers and get new for themselves--nice right!? We like stopping here when traveling south from Columbus. Our kids eat free and pass out in the car afterwards. Plenty of parking. read more

Golden Corral has gotten pricey for Senior Citizens, even WITH the supposed Senior Citizens discount. We two 65+ year-olds paid twenty-five bucks for two buffet lunches and soft drinks this week. Maybe at first thought, $ 12.50 apiece ain't all that bad for the Golden Corral variety of salad bar, hot foods, and dessert bar but how much does the average senior citizen eat? I live in Columbus, and every time I go to Chillicothe I eat there. The food is always excellent, much better than the locations in Columbus. We usually sit in the same area and often have the same person to get our drink refills. I wish I knew her name because she is always very kind. We don't even need to ask for drink refills, she takes good care of us. Every time I go to Chillicothe, I will eat there. I am never disappointed. Excellent food, excellent service. read more

The one time I stopped here was while I was traveling through the area. I went through the buffet line which was a process due the the unsupervised children darting in and out if the line. After setting down and having a couple bites of food we decided to leave because of a cock roach came running across our table. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who visit and lie about their experience hoping to get free stuff out of it which is pathetic. The food is indeed fresh, there are VERY strict corporate standards that must be adhered to.
