We came in around 12:00 PM during the normal lunch rush. We continued trying different items, hoping our experience would improve, but most of the hot food wasn't replenished until we were already full. I brought this concern to the manager's attention. I wasn't demanding a refund; I simply wanted to provide feedback about the quality of the food. Initially, she explained that they opened at 11:00 AM and that the food had been sitting out, which seemed to acknowledge the issue. However, later in the conversation, she changed her position and stated that from where she was standing she could see steam coming off the food. At that point, it felt less like my concern was being heard and more like an argument. I wasn't expecting a full refund--partial compensation, store credit, or even a sincere acknowledgment of the issue would have been appreciated. When customers pay for a lunch buffet, they reasonably expect the food to be served hot regardless of whether they arrive at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM. Food quality should be a consistent standard, not something dependent on being the first customer through the door. They're Fried Chicken was Bland, their Meatloaf was dry, they think a pork roast is a premium meat, the guy running the meat station refuse to speak when asked a basic question, when we arrived around 5:30 p.m. everything on the buffet appear to be picked through or past its freshness and for my last complaint I'll finish up with the cheesecake on the dessert bar looked like it had been dropped pick up and put back on the counter. The only saving grace was that the carrot cake was good but I imagine that it comes prepared, a tender and juicy 2 in by 3 in piece of steak, And some tasty fried shrimp that only hit the buffet a few minutes before I was ready to leave. oh yes and the dinner rolls were good, would have been better if I would have had honey butter but I guess they don't do that no more or can't afford it at $22 a person Quite honestly I was shocked at how many people were dining at this establishment. Went here a lot as a kid, came back to try after a few years. Food is not bad, you pay at the front, enter, seat yourself, and grab whatever you like. The food overall is what you would expect from a typical diner, it's definitely not bad but not something you would go out of your way for. Slightly above average overall. For example, mashed potatoes were warm and soft, pretty good but a little salty. Fried catfish was also crunchy and warm, well seasoned but also a little salty for my taste. Some things had a lot of grease but tasted alright. Things like this. Most people here get the grilled steak where they grill in front of you. The steak is well seasoned and tastes pretty good, but my cut had a lot of fat at the end. Still pretty good overall. Similarly, the ice cream looked more like a sorbet, not creamy at all, and I had my doubts but it tasted alright too. It had the vanilla flavor and wasn't too sweet. Service is basically nonexistent, they will bring you drinks if you order them but they basically won't check in on you or clean dirty plates that often. A drastic change happened here, Clean, very clean place, Very well lit and comfortable, not too bad, but here's the real news. The Food has stepped up, and it's a pleasant surprise, found myself actually enjoying the food! the fish was great, crispy and flakey and Hot, Plenty of masmashed potatoes this time and man they were fresh!, oh and the Mac and cheese is a vast improvement which blew my mind, Okay is someone pulling the wool over my eyes, if so...good job guys. Let me begin with saying that I am thoroughly impressed with the food selection at this location. It's spectacular! Upon entering you are greeted with a self serve beverage station that offers a plethora of options to accompany your meal. In addition to the standard sodas, you get more unusual options like Horchata, Icees, smoothies, juices and even milkshakes! This place is massive, and after settling on a table I started snooping around to get an idea of where to start. With so many options, I wanted to make sure that I had planned to hit all the dishes that count; you know like hush puppies, mac and cheese, and popcorn shrimp. For me, the main attraction to buffets is the array of foods, not necessarily eating greater quantities. Because there were so many delicious options, I found my self being extra mindful about what I put on my plate so that I would have room for all the things I like. I was very impressed with how tasty the items from there Italian selections were. I had pasta with marinara, bruschetta and ravioli with Alfredo sauce. It was so flavorful. I also had tiny samplings from other cuisines they showcased. I had an Asian chicken dish which was incredible,and I also indulged in an enchilada and rice which was also fantastic. Other notable highlights from my meal included the green beans, chopped BBQ slider and the garlic butter biscuit. The desert offerings were top notch. Donuts? Yep., they got em' Cotton candy? Yep got that too. Chocolate fountain? But of course! I tend to stick to the traditional banana pudding and chocolate pie. They do them very well here. The service was friendly and I have to say that the plates and silverware were well stocked, clean and even the multicolored plates were organized by color. Overall this was a very pleasant dining experience and very reasonably priced at under $12 for the buffet and drink combined. I will certainly be back to this location as it makes the other Golden Corrals look like a whole other inferior chain all together. How could I be expected to go to the old ones now that I've been to this one? That would be nuts! read more

To me the food was good. My only complaint was the updates and cleanliness of the place. As you walk in and you see the old line where you used to get drinks I guess all the Formica is worn through. The condiment holders on most tables were filthy, dirty condiment bottles, and some without lids, yuk. The walls were dirty and needed wiping. I've ate there twice in the last week and my family were very disappointed. First off the restrooms in the mens & womens we're disgusting. Totally unacceptable!!!! The plates were very unclean. We along with others had to go through dozens of plates to find any that were clean. Many had food on them. Super gross!!! The food was decent. The steak guy was very, very rude!!! He cooked all the steaks the same about medium well to well done. I repeatedly asked for rare & he gave us the well done ones. I asked again for rare and he got very angry & mad some unkind faces and still gave me a well done steak. He refused to give a lady a piece of meat she asked for & just ignored her. Furr's was packed and I didn't want to park in the back, so I thought I'd check this place out. Wow! It's a madhouse on a Sunday evening! Generic chow quality. For those into demographics, this is a heavily Hispanic location. No problem with that. I love all people. I'm equally comfortable here as anywhere else. I had a rare cut of some kind of steak. It must have been sirloin because I flung a bunch of green beans off my plate trying to saw through the gristle. The rest of the cut was fine, just that initial fat was problematic. Plate 1: Pot roast with carrots and potatoes, mashed potatoes and brown gravy, green beans, macaroni and cheese, the steak. Not bad, but not amazing either. Plate 2: Lo mein, sesame chicken, spring roll, pepperoni pizza slice. Semi-okay quality. Plate 3: Apple pie slice, chocolate pudding, chocolate chip cookie, red cake muffin with white frosting, chocolate-dipped marshmallow. Decent quality. At 18 bucks(!) including my to-go drink cup, this place ain't cheap! So you definitely want to hang out long enough and eat enough to make it worth it. I'll give it a pass with 3 stars, but I understand why it's ensconced at the 2.5-stars position. I may come here again, but maybe not. It's not remarkable. I love this golden coral. Almost every time I go to eat here with family there is always fresh food. I personally always get steak and Mac and cheese as one of my plates and it is really good. The deserts are absolutely amazing and always taste there best. One thing I will say is in the restroom I think there should be caution signs. I understand the restroom can't be checked every second but the last time I went I slipped in the restroom and fell and I'm also pregnant. Plenty to choose from at the different bars they have set up and the food was good. The place was busy as hell with not enough waitresses so I ended up having to wait on a refill of tea which took forever. I finally just told the waitress to give me 2 glasses of tea so I wouldn't have to wait so long. I think my biggest complaint would be all the kids running around not watching where they are going. Smoked ribs were perfect with the meat tender and came right off the bone. Fried shrimp were what I came for but I'll go back for the ribs next time. Weekend special was good with my senior discount and didn't get a soda. I got my money's worth. The deserts looked good but I didn't have the room for it!
