Being from Florida where Golden Corral's are popular with the tourists, I decided to try one in Green Bay. I must say, not all Golden Corral's are created equal. I Florida they seem to be associated with pig farming, and slopping the pigs. They are crowded, uncontrolled with poorly prepared foods fed to uncontrolled crowds and kids in a dirty restaurant. This Golden Corral was clean, well staffed, and the food tasted good. Everyone was controlled and the were no children serving themselves. What a difference. I had to check to make sure it was a Golden Corral. I enjoyed the experience and will be visiting again. I score them 4 of 5 stars. What a surprise. read more

If you're looking for a gut reset coupled with a superior colon cleanse...this is your spot. #1- Overpriced cafeteria food. #2 - Ooohhh man...trust me ...you'll have one within the hour. #3 - Filth on floors as most of the patrons and the overworked/under appreciated plate clearing staff let food lay where it falls. #4 - Management needs to be fired by Corporate to do a hard reset because other nationwide GC buffets are just what they appear in the commercials. We went they they charged us $53.00 and we actually left without eating. The flooring was so full of food that people dropped and I called and the manager actually hung the phone up on me his name was Chet. The restroom was so filthy and only 1 soap dispenser worked the one sink was spraying water everywhere etc. We just left and went to a different restaurant to eat. We were absolutely appalled at how filthy it was and the reason we left was because they brought out a bin of clean plates and the employee dropped them on the floor and he put them back in the plate bin and allowed the people to eat off them after he dropped them on the floor. Again I understand that it is an all you can eat basically a fast food place but to see how filthy it was and all the food bins were actually pretty empty also And all filthy. This is one of the cleaner stores. I think GC is expensive for the quality of food. $13 for the weekend buffet?? I always advise to go early. Why? Because the workers hate keeping the food items replenished. I'm giving this store 3 stars due to the nice service and cleanliness. Other than that GC won't crack a 2'star rating. The food is awful. Came here for lunch today and learned quite a bit. First, if the meatloaf has the word "awesome" in the title...it isn't. It is actually possible for a green pepper to have 0 flavor. This place was sprinkled with such rude patrons during the evening I came with my family that anything positive from the experience seems overshadowed. In addition to our lovely evening, there was also a man who continued to unashamedly brush his rear-end with each passing against my poor coat that was hanging on the back of my chair in which I sat, almost knocking it off every time. He seemed oblivious as he never bothered excusing himself. I had to cradle my violated coat in the security of my lap afterwards, and for my own safety, ate hunched over to avoid the unwanted contact. To continue, I overheard a man politely excuse himself because another man was blocking his way. Instead of replying courteously to the polite man, the 2nd man defensively scowled at him and walked off in a huff. I also observed a hungry, 6'5 woman, clad in camo hunting apparel, her giant hands filled with plates of food, looming and glaring over my 4' 2" daughter when my daughter "mistakenly" crossed her path to make her way towards me. The woman also looked as if she was going to devour my 8 year old in one gulp that I couldn't pull her out of harm's way fast enough. This visit was a cultural shock even though it's evident that you get the whole generous package of what you paid for. Everyone gets hungry but it isn't a justifiable excuse to throw all common courtesy, social etiquette, maturity out the door. I have been here actually multiple Christmas Eves' with my family as a tradition in the past before I had some complications in my family. Very impressed back then with service and nice people. Then, as time passed on, I did not come back to this store since the Christmas Eve two and a half years ago. So, by brother and I went here for lunch today to see if it got any better and quite honestly, our server only came once and for my chocolate milk the receptionist told me to get it filled up in the front? :( Therefore, not good service at all. Other things were that the mac and cheese was mushy, biscuits were not crunchy like they usually are. Cafeteria-style. There were also more Parmesan in the chicken than the bacon and it was not crispy either. Chicken legs were dry. All breakfast food looked like it sucked. Fruit was dry too. Lastly, we all know what fish fry's are in America's Dairyland. First of all, the fish tasted half raw and second of all, it had more seasoning on it than taste. And for the fried shrimp, it was junk junk seafood. And lastly, the shrimp came out like chicken nuggets and then left to what I ate. The meatloaf was my favorite and the dessert has gone worse. They have a great variety of food: Salad bar, steak section, and dessert bakery. You can select your own 5oz steak cooked to your liking. It's not the greatest cuts of meat, but it's a buffet. The dessert area has flowing fountains of chocolate and caramel for fondue which is pretty neat. It's a buffet, so you help yourself, but the service was still great. It snowed the day we came to eat so there weren't too many patrons there. I think the food had been sitting idle for hours, The prime rib was bloody because it was lukewarm. Most chicken was dried out, one piece which was a breast / wing combo, the breast was totally dry and the wing was bloody. The mac and cheese was mush, the popcorn shrimp were dried out and nothing but coating. The fat free ranch dressing is the most sick tasting dressing I have ever eaten. This is the best buffet restaurant I have ever eaten at. I wish there was one close to my home I would eat there all the time. So many choices and the food was so good . Golden Corral in Green Bay is a family tradition for our family on our trips to Door County. Although other Golden Corrals have been hit or kiss for me this location is great. Clean restaurant courteous staff. It is a bargain. I always surprised how fresh everything is. Big selection and cotton candy real ice cream chocolate fountain. We just started going to GC in Green Bay this year. Been there 3 times so far and are planning on going this afternoon. We both think the food there is very good except for the deviled eggs. We enjoy eating there a lot, but when the employees put new food on top of old food , it just gets disgusting. I have to sift through the corn on the cob to make sure it hasn't been cooked three times already. They should be pulling old food and replacing it with new. I thought that was just common sense. Why not throw out a little bit of old food, than add new to it and have to throw out more. Does food get thrown out there? Or just reused over and over?
