6-10-25 I recently ate at Golden Coral. I only use red vinegar for my salad. When I was shaking the vinegar Into a soup bowl a small bug came out. I said something to the waitress and she immediately took it to the kitchen boss. Instead of taking the vinegar off the counter and washing it with soap and water they did nothing until I went up and said something again. The New General Manager and kitchen boss looked at me when I mentioned it again. They should have taken the bottle off the salad bar right away when I mention it the first time. Several other people unaware of the bug in the vinegar put it on there salad. After I mentioned it the second time they had the person in charged of the salad area empty the vinegar and rinse the bottle out with water but used no soap. I can see what is going on from where I was seated. This isn't the first time that this has happened with bugs in my food. This is why I prefer to eat at home. The waitress was excellent the GM and kitchen boss not so much. It would be great if they actually had the correct signs for the food they are serving. I have mentioned several times that they should update their signs so people can read them. Also, it would be nice if they could post somewhere which oil that they're cooking in unfortunately, I'm severely allergic to anything with peanut oil in it. So I tend to stay down in the salad bar area when my friend wants to come here. This location has a lot of wonderful servers here upper management That's another story. Linda takes pride and what she does. I have pointed several things out to here in the past and she gets it taken care of right away. Our family reluctantly ate here, only because we were out of groceries and we had a gift card. And like a Kidz Bop album, the experience was awful from start to finish. The steak was so undercooked it was still bleeding. The catfish was so foul it oozed and emitted a rancid smell. They won't tell you the ice cream machine isn't working before they take your money! My family and I spent over $85 here the kids were disappointed that the ice cream machine was out of order. I haven't updated with a new review of Golden Corral for a couple years...so, here goes. Obviously Covid-19 has changed the way a lot of restaurants, and especially buffets, do business. So here's the good news and bad news about Golden Corral. First the good: they have taken approx. 40% of their tables out of the dining room so customers aren't packed in (like cattle in a CORRAL!) anymore. There are also fewer people in the restaurant altogether. It used to be really crowded sometimes as Golden Corral just kept cramming more and more cattle in the front door to keep the cash register ringing! The employees seem to be SLIGHTLY more appreciative of customers. Better attitude, a LITTLE friendlier, a LITTLE better service, etc. Now the BAD: Golden Corral is still charging the same prices but almost 1/3 of the food pans are empty. I mean turned upside-down, as in no food was put in anytime today. I asked one of the owners about this and he said "We still have the same number of food selections, just lesser amounts." I call B.S. on this!!! For instance, Golden Corral used to ALWAYS have smoked chicken (which I really like) and now they don't. The owner told me this was just a "temporary promotional" item and they no longer have it because of that reason. Well, it was a promotional item they had on the buffet for the last 4 years straight!!! Also, they have fewer meat items, like the smoked sirloin, then they used to. Now, you have to stand and wait for a Golden Corral employee to notice you and come over to serve you food from the buffet. I GET THIS with the virus and all, but sometimes it's irritating to have to wait and then watch as a stranger grabs the exact wrong piece of corn or wrong scoop of pot roast and puts it on your plate. The food turnover does not appear to be happening often enough- some of the food items don't seem very fresh. My dinner roll tonight was hard, tough and dry and the clam chowder had turned a kind of ugly yellow color from age!!! Also, Golden Corral is NOT ENFORCING MASK USAGE among it's customers. I saw several ghetto rats walking around in the restaurant without masks and several little rat-lettes without masks running around like it was their Disney Land. They are constantly changing their hours, now they are only open until 7:30 pm Sun-Thurs, even though on the front door it says 9pm and on this yelp page it says 8:30. Occasionally, I like Golden Corral, and I know it's tough times for all businesses, especially self-serve buffet restaurants. But Golden Corral COULD be doing several things BETTER. read more

First Golden Corral I've ever been to. The rolls rival Texas Corral and everything else is equally amazing. So many options and they were properly staffed so everything was clean. Loved their chocolate fountain and ice cream flavors. I can't wait to come back and try more things. read more

I'm in my home town of South Bend for the weekend and the vote was Golden Corral. I have to say, best Golden Corral that I've been to considering I don't like buffets. It was clean. Really that was the first thing I noticed, it looked clean. And guess what? Throughout the two hours we were there they were consistently cleaning. If someone dropped a cookie on the ground someone was right behind them picking it up. The food on the buffet was changed out in a timely fashion. No old spills on the buffet. Then I typically don't enjoy the quality of the food. But. The fried fish. Ummmm I live in the south now where there are whole restaurants dedicated to fried fish. The fish here? Yum! Oh and the vegetables. I had a whole plate of vegetables. Lastly, I have a major sweet tooth but I don't do buffet desserts because they tend to taste over processed. I came here for a group event on a road trip. We just needed a quick bite and Golden Corral seemed like a good option for a big group. I got my food and the staff was nice and the set up was efficient. I got my food and went back to my table to find a fly on a piece of my cauliflower. I attached a picture as proof. This made me uncomfortable and i lost my appetite understandably. Many of my friends who joined me on this trip also experienced some stomach aches after eating, but that can ups be unrelated. I gave 2 stars because the staff was very nice and it was very kind if them to put up with the large group, but on a 10 hour road trip, finding a bug in my meal was u pleasant and i was very disappointed. read more

For starters we were sat at a small table resulting in myself being bumped into repeated, my brother ended up spilling his drink simply because the lack of room. Server did not buss out table so after the spill and a plate each we we eating in filth. Worse was the food and I stress this highly you are likely going to get sick from eating here. After today I am convinced the issues I had before were not the work of something not agreeing with me. Half the food was either mislabeled or missing, yet you pay a premium for low quality buffet food. What is there ranged from over cooked to not kept at proper temps. When we had enough of the manager avoiding us she hid in the bathroom then claimed we were in the store longer than ten minutes. Most of that time was waiting on her. If I could give fewer stars I would. My wife and I had been wanting to try the place for a few years but it required us to go to another town. A lot of our friends talk about how good it was. Went on Sunday at 11:05 AM. No longer serving breakfast. Okay, ordered lunch - sorry, no lunch today - you have to buy dinner, mind you at 11:05 AM. $32.00 later.....the dinner was a small ham, polish sausage and sausage patties. That is it. Apparently most of it was gone by the time we got there at 7p, but the cashier was just fine taking our money and said nothing about them being out of the brisket and other meats. Most of their trough food is mediocre at best, and has usually been touched, licked or coughed on by the general public before you get it. When you think buffets this is what comes to my mind! There are endless food pairings and great food at that. This particular location stays busy so the foods tends to stay fresh. For such a busy location they do a great job in keeping things clean ! The staff is very friendly , at least every time we go in. The prices have raised but so has the quality! Wow! After a disappointing afternoon at the boring old Basilica of the Sacred heart I was depressed, and there is nowhere better to eat your feelings away than Golden Corral. The decor is delightful, and there are little pictures and tips all over the restaurant that help you make informed decisions about your selections (we chop vegetables in house etc). Unlike the Basilica you are allowed to talk and be merry with your friends and family here, and unlike the basilica which only offered a single baptism fountain which you aren't supposed to drink, Golden Corral offers over 10 different beverage selections on their soda fountain. All in all, the food was fresh and good and there weren't a bunch of pictures of tiny naked baby boys flying around on the ceiling, which was another thing I found to be distracting at the basilica. read more

I like this Golden Corral. This is by far the cleanest buffet restaurant I have ever seen. The selection is extremely good, even for Golden Corral standards. The food was always fresh in each of my several visits here. The service was top notch.
