Last time we went (a holiday), my SIL's fish was obviously undercooked & we waited 20 minutes past our reservation time. And a lot of the entrees are $20+ so the bill can add up pretty quickly. SERVICE Some of the best in town usually. Plenty of attention & quick to solve any issues or complaints. Never feel ignored. AMBIANCE Great vibe, simple/minimalistic decor, good bathrooms. Ate there once and enjoyed it. Made reservations right after we ate at the service greeting desk for Valentine's Day 2 weeks before the holiday. Called today to verify and they said they didn't have us on the list. They put us back on but said we may or may not get a booth seat. I hope this place improves with customer service - not too impressed this time around. My wife took her family there a week back and made reservations and they still ended up having to wait 40 minutes !! What a joke. UPDATE: we enjoyed our Valentine's dinner and they sat us at a booth table as we requested. I actually ordered thru the app. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my order, I could not believe the lack of customer service shown. I was treated like I was a bother. To top it off when I called back to report the missing item from my order, an apology was not given. The young lady that answered the phone response was "we busy". So, if you are busy does that give you the right to speak to and treat customers like that. I truly hope not otherwise you will not be saying "we busy" too much longer. My family and I are huge fans of this particular Bonefish Grill in northern Indiana. It's our go to for celebrating anything super special and this time it was for our 20th wedding anniversary. We always get the Bang Bang shrimp as an appetizer, in fact my daughter has been known to order just this as her main meal, it was genius that they came out with Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. I recall one time when the restaurant was particularly busy and we had to wait for our table, the staff served complimentary bang bang shrimp for everyone waiting. That is amazing customer service! This time I ordered off the specials menu and had the most divine haddock with crab. The corn chowder with lumps of crab was the perfect side for the rainy cool day we were experiencing. Delicious! The portion sizes were filling but not too much that we couldn't order dessert. The pumpkin spice lava cake was an excellent Fall treat. The gooey center was cream cheese. It's once every few years that I get to go to Bonefish and it's always this location. (I wish we had one in San Antonio... hint, hint) I LOVE the bang bang shrimp. On Wednesday, its $6 and that alone could be enough to be my meal and make me happy. My other favorite, their shrimp and scallops with mango salsa. Twice now, we ordered broccoli as a side and asked for under cooked, you know.. not mushy. Didn't happen, and when asked to redo it came out the same again! Well the manager took care of us and apologized and thought we'd give another try, Um shame on me because the broccoli was even worse (tasted like boiled mush). We stopped in for drinks and appetizers on a Friday night and found 3 seats at the bar. Of course they were right in front of the door so it was a little chilly. Yet, we stayed. I went with a couple to celebrate the husband's birthday at the Mishawaka, IN location. The food and service was excellent as always (I've been to Bonefish here in Orlando, too). Sarah was our server and did a commendable job. She wore her mask properly and was available when needed, but never hovered over us which is appreciated. The drinks were fantastic! We tried the Winter White Cosmo which was the "best selling guest favorite of the year" per the menu description (and they were spot on!) It was a combination of vodka, cointreau, St. Germain elderflower, white cranberry juice, lime juice and floating cranberries on top! It was a definite favorite! Congrats to Rachel, the bartender, for mixing an excellent martini. For appetizers, we had the Bang, Bang Shrimp - outstanding with just the right amount of kick and the Beef and Ginger Potstickers that were flavorful and tangy. I had one of the specials - the Soy-glazed "Butterfish". It was Alaskan Black Cod with a rich buttery flavor and a sweet soy glaze with pickled ginger relish, served over jasmine rice with spinach and mushrooms. In a word - HEAVEN! So with this great write-up, why only 4 stars? I was uncomfortable with the social distancing (or lack therefore). The dining room was packed. Although the tables appeared to be 6 feet apart, no one was wearing masks once they sat down. For the next hour and a half we were there, once you passed the hostess station, all masks came off, except for our table, which we kept on. We had our masks on until the appetizer and entrees were served. Also, as we were waiting for our table to be ready, one customer walked right by us and into the dining area without a mask! We were stunned. My friend was going to say something to the hostess, but I said "what's the use; look how packed this dining room is. Do you see anyone with a mask on once sitting down?" Maybe the restaurant has an excellent air filtering system, but who knows? I'm happy to live in Orlando where outside dining is more prevalent during these trying COVID times. read more

I read another review, and I have to agree the little changes they made took the charm of private dining away. When I come to Bonefish, I always make a reservation, and I always have to wait. I wish they called it call-ahead seating because you are waiting for someone else's party to leave. When I make a reservation anywhere else, I am taken to my table, and I don't have to wait. This was a nice family style restaurant. The food was good overall. The service was all very polite. The restaurant itself is very busy and had a constant flow of customers coming and going. We were sat near the door and every time someone would come in an arctic blast would blow across our table freezing everyone. A divider separating the front waiting / pickup area would help keep those eating protected from the elements every time someone opens the door.
