Well, I took my kids here to try something new (they think buffets are fun) and I seriously wanted to enjoy it. I was fully prepared to not be impressed, but wow, this was easily some of the worst sh*t I've ever seen, or experienced. To top it off, a MOUSE was just chilling in the lobby like it paid rent and when the mouse was noticed by an employee, he smacked it with a broom multiple times until it died. All in front of my kids and everyone else in the lobby. we eat there at least once a week. seeing the other older reviews, i can tell they must have made an effort to correct some of the issues. people are always welcoming and friendly. our restaurant off main has a loyal clientele and is usually busy. food is always warm and tasty. the building is getting older perhaps, but is picked up constantly. never seen bugs or mice. the people are the dirtiest thing in there, by people, i mean the customers. lots of construction workers and such go in there. read more

I am giving this place one star only because a half star is not available. This place was absolutely the worst place I have ever eaten. I have eaten at this restaurant several times before, but this time the food was absolutely terrible. The bourbon chicken was awful. The fried chicken was stone cold to a point. It was cold and sitting in your hand. There was absolutely no heat to it whatsoever. The person cutting the steak at the grill had no clue on what the difference was between media, rare and medium, and did not understand English. The fried shrimp was overcooked and hard. This Golden Corral looks like any others, but the taste and flavor of who ever the chef in the back made isn't the same as some of my favorite areas! Plus the kitchen looks smaller and not all the favorites dishes are out as I was hoping for lunch???!!! But overall, it was a decent experience. Went for a late lunch, early dinner at 3 PM. It's a buffet and it's one that is done well. A wide range on the salad bar, veggies and main courses. I prepared a great salad, had some fried chicken, roast, and veggies with yeast rolls. Good food in a family friendly and clean environment. read more

Food is fair. Canned and frozen warmed up for the most part I'm guessing but not bad. And we always have a great server. But I'm usually completely pissed by the time I get thru the checkout on entry. 2 checkouts and I've only seen the 2nd one used ONE time in many many visits. There is No sense of urgency or Care from the management of this store. It does not bother them in the slightest if the line is out the front door. They stand there with their hands in their pockets or playing on their phone while watching the one cashier slowly check people out. read more

We ate their this afternoon (6/22/20) and within 15 minutes of leaving the store my wife had me pull the car over so she could throw up. Luckily we had a plastic T-shirt bag in the car otherwise she and the car would have been covered in vomit. While driving home she SHIT her pants and the passenger seat, lovely smell I must say. So we had to ride home with the windows down and in the heat with my wife basting in her own excrement. After we got home, she got cleaned up and was recuperating in the bed, she felt a rumble in her stomach and got up to go to the bathroom and she didn't even make it. She had projectile diarrhea all the way to the bathroom which required extensive clean up. I can tell you exactly what she ate from that salad bar as everything passed right through her. There was the site and smell of diarrhea everywhere and she was full on crying for because of what she had done and how embarrassed she felt for herself. She was crying as if someone had died. Well the next time she wasn't so lucky as she didn't even make it out of the bed. So now my bed is covered in DIARRHEA due to Golden Corral's negligence. So lucky ole me will be sleeping on the couch while my wife will be sleeping on the brand new plastic mattress protector I had to go buy because of this mess. I will now have to call stanley steamer to come clean my mattress and carpet. all because someone was too lazy to ensure that the items on the salad bar was not being held at the right temperature. To further exacerbate the issue my wife has a heart condition and diarrhea is making her condition worse. Her heart is racing and she isn't feeling well. If I have to take her to the E.R. I know who to make the bill out to. I will be calling the management and Cleveland County Health Department (405) 321-4048 in the morning. This is inexcusable and the staff should be made to watch an episode of Restaurant Impossible with Chef Robert Irvine destroying someone for the way the food is kept. This is totally unacceptable from a customers point of view and should be a top priority for management to ensure compliance as SHIT like this should never, ever happen period. How hard is it to take a laser temperature scanner and check the temps on food. would literally take some 5 minutes to do he entire bar every hour. So day two (6/23) and my wife is still having diarrhea ever 2 hours or so. And I went to get her some adult diapers because she had another incident of not being able to make it to the bathroom ontime. Neither of us will never eat at another Golden Corral ever. My family and I ordered a few items (curbside pickup, biatch) for thanksgiving dinner at our home. Omg. I am beyond impressed. The turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and pies were the light of our lives, and or night. Lol. HIGHLY recommend. Cost me 60$ for a 4 dine and the only thing I had to add was the green bean casserole homemade. I'm currently eating leftovers and watching Charlie Brown with my little. Terrible place. Take it from someone who worked here about a year ago. Food is left out in heat lamps for the entire day so nothing is fresh. Bugs crawling on tables and walls. Plates are always filthy. Servers never bathe and wear same uniform all week. Silverware gets dropped on ground and put back up like nothing ever happened. I've heard of multiple people getting sick the day after they ate here. Management is poor and they always just sit down and eat all day. Don't pay $15-$20 for 3 days old food, you can go somewhere else pay just as much for a much nicer experience. read more

First, I want to say that I love eating at Golden Corral. I could live on their roles. With that said, the Norman location is rough when it comes to the service and steak. Tonight, I went there with my son. We sat down and started eating our food. About 10 minutes later, the waitress came over and said she didn't know it was her table. She then went over and started talking to other waitresses, complaining about being the only one working. Out loud. Where customers could hear. 10 minutes after my drink was empty, she came back and asked if I needed a refill. She never returned after that refill even though my son needed one later too. As we were leaving, she was standing by the register up front complaining to another waitress and her manager, still complaining, while ignoring all her customers. She deserved no tip The rolls were awesome and my son loved his food. The steak was fatty and not that good. Disappointing visit for sure. read more

Ate here yesterday with my family. The only good thing about the experience was the courtesy shown by the staff. The food was terrible, poorly prepared, and of cheap quality. My 10 year old found a very long hair in his macaroni and, oddly, there was a large swastika engraved on the wall of the men's room. When I reported it to the management, the reply was, "we are planning on redoing the bathrooms". Needless to say, neither my family nor myself plan on returning. read more

The food was ok. I went for breakfast and while I do not normally go out to eat for breakfast, I had arrived too early for class and decided to go and grab a bite. The eggs and pancakes were good. What I thought were hotlinks were not hotlinks at all and were salty and unsavory. The bacon tasted like it was bacon fat fried and served since it was too brittle and the texture was not very appetizing. It was 7:35 and the sign said they opened at 7:30. The entrance was locked so we went to the exit door to get dried off and warm from our walk. We were quickly approached by a hateful girl (found out later it was the daughter of the owner.) we told her that we were merely trying to get out of the bad weather. She said in a snide voice "I don't just walk in to your house!" We decided that the management needed to be aware of the terrible customer service. So we came back and were confronted by the same lady. We asked if we could talk to the manager. She said she was a manager. Since we knew we wouldn't be heard by her, we asked for another manager. She refused and said she was going to call the police. She said this was a franchise. We went outside and were trying to find a phone number of someone to listen to our complaint when were approached my a man claiming to be the owner. The he preceded to tell us if we didn't leave the property was was going to call the police. I guess we'll never try Golden Coral's food at this location. read more

Bad food, BUGS, and awful customer service! Okay so I am usually a very understanding person, that being said, I am highly disappointed in this restaurant! When we first got there I was overwhelmed by the fact I was paying $50 for 3 people to eat, but decided it was okay because I wanted to treat my sisters to a good meal. However as we tried to enjoy our dinning experience it got worse! When we got to our table there was a roach on the wall next to our table. My sister grabbed the waiter working our area and told him the issue. He quickly got rid of it, but didn't report it to his manager. We were still trying to stay positive. We got our food and sat down to eat and the food was cold and nasty. Even the meatloaf! I love meatloaf, and I could not tolerate this. Then, after deciding we could no longer stomach the substance they claim as food, we went for some desert. Again, we are trying to stay positive. While picking up a strawberry I realize that there is yet another roach on the strawberry itself! That's when I had it. I pulled a manager to the side and told her our experience. I was honest with her and told her I don't feel its fair that I paid $50 to eat somewhere where bugs seemed to be at home. Instead of trying to understand she quickly spat out an insincere apology and acted like it really wasn't her problem. The only thing she said was "when you come back tell us what happened again and well take care of it." I explained very clearly we would NOT be returning and she gave yet another quick and insincere apology, and said there was nothing else she could do. My husband and I eat at the Norman Golden Corral at least once a month for lunch. We have always found the food like "home". We enjoy the multitude of veggies. The fried cat fish and hush puppies are great! Sometimes like at home one or two items are over cooked because they have sat in the pan to long. We just skip it and let the staff know. Soon it is fixed. Yes the wait staff is very friendly and we usually sit in the same area so the waitress knows us and what we like to drink. read more
