Golden Corral in Winder was excellent. The male cashier was friendly and engaging. The place was clean organized and all food was properly labeled. The taste of the food was very good. Everything was fresh. It was not crowded which made the experience even better. One thing I notice is their utensils were not 14 inches long. I thought that was required. Reason I mention that is when people touch the handles some times ended up touching the food after being used. Other than that they provide gloves for you to wear when using the utensils, but if your hands are dirty and you touch the plastic gloves them the gloves will be contaminated also. (This is all GC not just winder). To be clear the food was hot fresh and safe. I really enjoyed my experience there and I will definitely return. This place was great! So I haven't been to this location in a longgg time since my last experiences weren't the best but we were pleasantly surprised. We stopped by during lunch so it was only about $11 pp. Not bad. The ladies up front were nice enough. The food selection wasn't anything outstanding but unlike our past experiences the selections were mostly "fresh" and the buffet lines were clean. I tried a bit of everything you can see on my plates but the one thing I did get a second time was the fried livers. The livers weren't gamey and fried just enough to have a bite on the outside but still a little soft on the inside. Like fried chicken but not really. LOL The roast beef also was very tender and flavourful. Went well with the buttery mashed potatoes. We even thought about having Thanksgiving here since they were advertising it but after trying the pumpkin pie it was a def nope. Not sure what they use in the pumpkin pie but it wasn't pumpkin. Maybe squash and sweet potato.. the banana pudding was mostly cream which I would love but there wasn't any pudding to enjoy the cream with. Service wasn't that great unfortunately. It was lunch time but it wasn't extremely busy. I had a water and asked twice for a refill and didn't get one till we were about really to leave. Waitress checked on us once and ignored our table pretty much the whole time. I almost got up to go get myself a refill up front but my husband kept telling me to just wait.. We still left over 15% but being treated like second class left a nasty feeling as we walked out with no acknowledgement either. read more

Basic, but does the trick ... Visited with two adults, two kids. The seating was easy, food selection enough to make everyone happy. The food could use some additional flavor, but being they are cooking for a large group, I can see why it is on the bland and basic side (add your own hot sauce, salt/pepper, etc) The service is always good. Being from Florida, we have been to our share of Golden Corrals. This location in Winder was easy to get to, had plenty of parking and was bright and airy. We went for lunch and the selections were fresh and plentiful starting with salads and soup, entrees and of course the dessert bar. I didn't see chocolate silk pie out and asked one of the servers and they quickly brought it out to me. All the servers were accommodating, friendly and quickly bussed tables as well as refilled drinks. The only feedback I would give is their handicap parking does not offer curb entrance. You have to enter the building by walking in the parking lot up the slanted sidewalk which does not offer railings and for someone who has mobility issues like my husband , the ramp is a little steep If you like Golden Corral, you will love this location read more

So we wanted to go eat at the Golden Corral since it had been so long, and as usual, I research which is the best location. Winder seemed to have meh reviews, but better than others. Let me just say, this was the WORST GC we have ever been to in all the states we've eaten at a GC. THe food was beyond bland, boring, there was a total lack of variety, and at sitting down to eat my steak, I took two bites, got food poisoning, and had to request a refund b/c I couldn't eat. I even threw up twice in the bathroom and twice on the way home. I even almost had to go to the ER. I will never step foot in this location again. Ew! read more

The Golden Corral Buffet & Grill in Winder is one of the few that is open for dining. My husband prefers eating here when we dine out. He is impatient and wants his food lol. This is not as big as other location but their service is top notch every time we've gone. Out of all the Golden Corral's I've been to, this one has hot in temperature food. I was surprised. Sometimes when I get baked potatoes and it's cold or just lukewarm. Not here. It is still piping hot and I see the flames! I also see them make "fresh" pizza too. Veterans Day buffet - great! Steaks - were perfect. Pot roast - melt in your mouth. Catfish - delic! Sides were outstanding as well. Y'all did a fine honoring of Veterans and enlisted as well last night. I was proud to buy a couple of hats from the gentleman at the front door for a good cause. We have not been out to eat in a while. So when we did go eat at Golden Corral in Winder, GA my husband paid our bill with a credit card the cashier skimmed our credit card and woke up the next morning with alot of Amazon charges on the credit card. So, we called our bank and closed the account. The food and services was not as good as it used to be before the pandemic and with the skimming of our card. This place sucks. Great Food and Great Service! Went to Golden Corral on Sunday before Memorial Day. The experience was wonderful. Our party of 5 was part of the "after church crowd" and the place was busy but the service right on. Had fresh rolls delivered to our table within minutes. The ribs were better than those at specialty BBQ places. Very tender and falling off the bone. This was so helpful because our 94 year old mom loves ribs but has a hard time chewing. We were celebrating a combined birthday, belated mother's day and early memorial day and GC did not disappoint. Food was replenished quickly and all was so fresh. Dessert bar was over the top. Again, my mom wanted fudge and there it was on the bar! When your mom is happy everyone is happy! read more

I am very unhappy about our last visit on May 9. I was unable to have any of the carved meat due to there being no one to carve and serve. While waiting, the carver came out from the back and was doing other things. I asked him to serve me some ham. He said he was doing something else and would be back. He did not come back for the 20 minutes I waited. Several other customers were also waiting. I got frustrated and gave up and returned to the table. I am very unhappy about this. The restaurant was not busy and there was no reason for not being served meat that was sitting right there. Home of the "bucket seat chairs" The food is usually pretty good and the staff friendly. The poor poor chairs though- lately every one I sit down on I end up sitting IN. It's not really their fault though- wood and steel can only hold up to so much on a continual basis and most of the people here generate their own gravitational field. We have always had pretty good food here. The last couple of times I have had to wait 10 minutes for a steak. One of the managers, I did not get her name ( blonde hair) was very nice and showed concern. She offered to bring the steak to the table when it was ready. It's nice to know they have employees who care. The employees here do their best to keep the food bars clean but a lot of people turn their children loose and don't watch them, it is the parents or grandparents job to watch the kids, not the employees of Golden Corral. Pathetic & rude staff . Visited this month and was not satisfied with anything . All the staff are rude , from the cooks to the waitress's because they all act more like children who talk down about us customers and should learn how to whisper better. My whole family spent over $200, we expect to get what we paid for. We were so impressed with this location. We originally stopped in for dinner because of the new wing promotion, but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the dinner selections. I love Golden Corral. Stop turning your nose up. This place puts fresh, delicious food on your plate at more than half the price you would pay anywhere else for the same quality and portion size. I eat a lot and very few places can fill me up. I don't eat crap food. I eat quite healthy. Golden Corral is one place where I can pile enough veggies and healthy meat on my plate(s) to reach some semblance of feeling satisfied. Better buffet than Paula Dean's Savannah buffet...no joke. The bar here seemed somewhat limited in that it provided fewer choices than other Golden Corral's I've visited. The price was on par with others, but the kitchen crew was less than stellar. Many food containers were empty and it took quite some time for any of them to be refilled; some never were. The pot roast, one of the bar's best features, was almost empty upon arrival and was never refilled. The only bright spot of the entire lunch was the table service. Our server, Kim, was friendly and attentive. Sadly, this is the closest GC to our new home, but we won't be going back. read more

The service was slow and it looked like most food and desserts have been sitting on the countertops for awhile. My family loves Golden Corral. We are able to eat some good food for a reasonable price. We have always had courteous staff at Winder and there is plenty of parking. They make sure you are not waiting long for a table. There is plenty to pick form on the buffet to satisfy all, unlike Ryan's. The homemade mashed potatoes are delicious! I LOVE Golden Corral restaurants but unfortuantely until management changes I will NEVER eat at the Winder location again. The bakery was cleaning their ovens near the food on display using a brillo pad. The cleaning agents were splattering on the food being served to customers. I asked for the manager and pointed out the concern to him. He said it was fine and would let me know if it was dangerous. GROSS!!! Problems happen I get it but when management refuses to take responsbility, what else is going on with the food at this location. Guess it will be worth my drive to continue eating at the Buford Golden Corrral where I have never experienced health concern issues like was observed tonight in Winder.
