I grew up here circa 1987. This palce changed a lot... and for the better. Very impressed and happy to see a Red Lion original still standing and thriving. Great selection of tap beers! I had the 10" chopped steak sandwhich which was the perfect size, barely able to finish the last 3 bites. While home for a visit I'vebeen in seach of the perfect cheese steak, and I'mstill on the search. While I'll rate this one a 7 out of 10. The roll was baked so good, but the steak seemed just a little... wet. Flavor was good, everyrhing was good just seemedoff on the texture of steak. Unlike other eateries in York seeminly trying to creat a new horrrible twist on the classic Philly Cheesesteak, and fail miserably I would have this one again it's just mot quite as good as it used to be. The taproom is a really cool small spot to go and try a new drink. Their wings are really good. Their sidewinder fries with cheese are exceptional. All their subs are good as well. I would highly recommend trying one of those. If you're gonna go with the pizza I would definitely suggest going with the thin crust. The food is delicious when fresh out of the oven! The past two times we have had to wait for our online order to be completed. We waited 25 minutes for our wings to be cooked while our pizza sat on the shelf and got cold. We are not sure why this is occurring but hope it is resolved immediately. read more

Never been inside but recently moved to the area and have ordered delivery a bunch of times. Our order has never been messed up and has always been delicious. We haven't tried a lot of what's on the menu but I'm sure it's all great. Don't forget to make your crust or strombolis "dirty", that adds great flavor. Service issues My husband and I dine regularly at Golden Crust. For a sub shop, they are a little pricey, but the food is worth it. I've only had one negative experience, and it was with a waiter. He was rude and abrupt, when we did that dine in they were not busy, so I'm not sure if he was just having a bad day or what the problem was. I tell you that we've done a lot of dine-in and delivery and they usually say it takes an hour for delivery, but they always Arrive within 30 min. during dine-in our food comes very quick, and is always hot and fresh. Usually, the only time I wait is on Friday nights for delivery, so just be prepared! This goes to show how popular they are! read more

Stumbled into this place and so glad I did! I'm rarely able to get a truly thin crust pizza and theirs was IT! It reheated well (crust got crispy, not soggy) in a pan the day after too! The cheesesteak Stromboli was excellent. My Italian sun could have used more meat and cheese, but the overall flavor was good. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. The restaurant side is good, but the taproom is the heart of the place. This is my favorite neighborhood pub. If you are looking for a huge range of beers on tap, good bar food, and a cozy environment, definitely go to their taproom. It's one of the few places I can always find a really good stout or porter on tap. If you're looking for a more sit down, but casual meal with a larger group, hit the restaurant side. Their pizza is great and their salads and subs absolutely hit the spot. Expect to get enough in one sub for 2 meals. It's one of the very few places that deliver out in the more rural areas around Red Lion. Want a beer with your pizza and don't want to make a beer run? They also deliver six packs as well. Cutting down on people potentially drinking and driving-yeah, I'm for that. This is a family run business that's going on it's second or third generation. As hard as it is to run any restaurant and stay in business through Covid and beyond, it is impressive that they have managed to continue to provide such great service. read more

The food is *generally* good IF you stick with pizza, subs and anything fried. Their fettuccini Alfredo pasta is extremely plain and unseasoned. The chicken Parmesan tastes like it was frozen and reheated. A few things to note: If they get too busy they take their phone off the hook so you're unable to place an order. If you're picking up on a weekend expect to wait an hour. They're closed on Monday's and Tuesday's. read more

Sad to report that Golden Crust is the worst I have ever experienced! I ordered wings bone in and received boneless. Paid ten dollars more so called to tell them. They replaced the wings but called back five minutes later to tell me they wanted back what they sent. It disgusts me to think that they might try to resale the boneless and didn't believe me. Parking can be hard - meters out front run until 6 pm. VERY small dining room, carry out window and bar. We sat on the dine in side. You seat yourself. Pick a spot next to the window for some good people/traffic watching. Service was slow but okay and our server was eager to please. We saw the speed at which things were moving and offered our card up as soon as our food arrived so we could be sure to get out of there by the time our meal was finished. Amazing beer list. 40 pretty unique drafts and you order by number so keep the beer list handy. Pretty standard pizza, subs and similar foods. They have specials T/W/Th. Taco Tuesday was delicious and cheap ($6 I believe for three tacos). Kids menu is the usual suspects. Pizza was pizza, if you know what I mean. Nothing earth shattering but a solid pizza experience. Beer and food prices are reasonable. You can get 5 oz or a full beer. You can choose multiple 5 oz beers but I didn't see a proper flight listed anywhere for the restaurant. With that many choices I think a rotating, prefab flight would be an excellent idea. Food prices were pretty standard. The bar area is called the Taproom and is 21 and over. We didn't go in because we had our child with us - but they do offer flights in there. You can fill Growlers to go, carry out bottles and they even deliver to certain areas. We will definitely be back. Without kids to experience the Taproom for sure. I also believe they have outside seating in season which I would be happy to try as well. read more

Today I bought a cheeseburger sub and I was in shock first off they chopped up the tomatoes in small pieces second the lettuce was soggy and onions they must have been hiding and to top it all the roll must have been at the end of it"s life because it was so tough and dry when you bite it it tore the roll very unappealing.Next time I will go next door. read more

Golden Crust Pizza is one of the best places around for beer. They have 41 beers on tap and all of them are from the Who's Who list of great beers in America! I can tell that someone takes pride in carefully choosing which beers to put on tap. The pizza is very good with a crust that you will want to eat to the last bite! We didnt know what was cheese and what was raw pizza dough. This happened 2 times before, hence the request for WELL DONE. GROSS. A bumper crop of PAR cooked (slightly soft but mostly CRUNCHY)onions (I could smell this bad boy before my husband brought it through the door) Couldn't eat. Couldn't call. Closed for the night. We were greeted quickly. We ordered an appetizer of breaded cauliflower and asked for marinara. The cauliflower was almost gone until we got our marinara. We ordered chicken cheese steaks and were served regular cheesesteaks. We asked for tomato the cheesesteaks came out with no tomato. Not a stellar experience considering it was not that busy . I have been to the Golden Crust twice. The soft pretzel appetizer is $7 but the pretzel is the size of a dinner platter and comes with it's very own hanging pretzel stand. The Big Bote pizza on the first trip was the best Sicilian pizza I have had in a long time. The second visit, they burned the Sicilian pizza and tried to serve it anyway. The waitress was apologetic and agreed it was overdone. We had to wait an extra 30 min for them to remake the pizza so minus a star. read more

Some of the best pizza you can get in this area, and their delivery range is generous. They are pretty accurate with their wait times regarding how long it will take for the delivery man to arrive. Even when I've had to wait for longer the food is still hot and fresh like it just came out of the oven. Only critique is that you can only order small OR large/extra large, they do not have a medium which is kind of a bummer. read more

I've always had a great experience here until tonight. My toddler had to have a medical procedure done at Philadelphia Children's Hospital this morning. It had been a long and draining day for both of us, so I ordered delivery for dinner. My son ordered a spaghetti with meat sauce kids meal. The container was jammed with noodles but barely any meat sauce! Just a thin layer that barely coated the top. So he didn't enjoy his spaghetti much at all. I could have made a whole pot of spaghetti for the price I paid for a kids meal. I'm extremely unhappy about that. Meat sauce also lacked flavor and was very bland. Giving them two stars because my food was decent. Very disappointed because Golden Crust was always my go to pizza shop. read more

Was consistent for years (made a perfect special request pizza, spot on every time) and things shifted recently....recent order was disappointing...spinach salad quality was not there and toppings were sparse, hot bacon dressing was thin and not up to par, pizza crust was overly thin, sauce was light when extra was requested, and the bill was $55! read more

The wings here are the best around. I used to be a huge fan of Buffalo Wild Wings; and I still do like their wings. However, their chicken sometimes isn't the best. At Golden Crust, I've never had a wing that was "iffy". They have a great selection of sauces and they are quite good. The spicy chili in particular is absolutely awesome. Just get some milk ready cuz your mouth will be hurting after eating a bunch of spicy chili wings lol. My only gripe is that eight is the lowest amount you can get, and they don't split flavors so it has to be all eight in one sauce. However, I recently realized a great way around that is to order unseasoned, plain wings. Golden Crust sells all their sauces on the side, and it's pretty generous - 4 ounces of sauce for a buck if I recall. So now I order sixteen plain wings and sides of sauce then I can go home and toss them in whatever divisions I want. Alas I cannot speak to anything else on the menu.
