I used to be there almost everyday. All my friends and my family went there. The Salvo family were friendly until Alberto's son Alfonso died and his grandson showed everyone how much he hated the place so most of their customers showed them how much they hated him. All they should do is start making their food the same way It was made at the beginning. The last time I got a steak sandwich there it was cold. The last time I got a pizza there it wasn't even baked! They made a severe mistake- mistreating their customers. It's not just them. Most restaurants are making the same mistake. Pizza By Alberto 10-17-24 It's been 3 years since we stopped by simply because we moved to another state. While we were back in town, we just had to stop by our favorite Pizza place to see if they still had the best pizza in this area. We arrived there about 1:20 pm on Thursday. They were not full and only had one other booth with someone in it. The place was neat, clean, and smelled great. In fact, I believe they were cleaning the kitchen as we walked in. From what I could see it was spotless. Our waitress came over introduced herself as Jace and took our drink orders. We ordered water, tea, and a beer. She then took our food order which was the Albertos Special. This Pizza has your choice of 8 toppings. We ordered the Peperoni, Ham, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Onions, Bacon, Extra Cheese, Black Olives. Every time we go there, we always ordered this Pizza special. We also ordered two side salads and an ordered of garlic bread. Our salads came out fast and were good as was the garlic bread and the beer was cold and tasted great. About the time we were done with our salads the Pizza came out. It looked very good and tons of toppings. When I bit into the Pizza it was very hot and the toppings were so good, and the crust was done perfect. I can't tell you how much I loved this, Pizza. I knew then I was giving it 5 stars. This family owned and operated business has been around for many years and the recipes and quality of the food are just as good as we remember from our younger years. Price is low but the flavor is also. The pizza lacked a flavorful sauce and ingredients seems bland. More of a cardboard flavor.

My experience with this restaurant was awful. I ordered two slices of pizza, twenty minutes later I get my slices and they are not even hot! They were barely lukewarm. I get the food and I have to ask for silverware and napkins...are you kidding me. The pizza tasted like the frozen pizza you buy in the grocery store. Normally, great place! Now HELL NO!! The lady was rude on the phone and inside. She threw my food at me on the counter and said her you go... have a good night. Then i walk out barely being able to open the door because they gave me a makeshift take out bag. The cup of soup was literally that. Like a dixie size wash your mouth out cup. After another disappointment from yelper reviews I'm convinced that the people in this are have no idea what decent food and service really is or I'm spoiled by places with better food and service from where I grew up. In any event, our first, and likely last trip, began with waiting what felt like 5 minutes for a menu. We both decided to try a simple turkey sub and fries. It is a pizza shop after all. We waited and received a half basket of mediocre french fries about 10 minutes before our subs arrived. After our food was delivered we never saw our waitress again. I was never asked if the food was OK, if I wanted a refill, or even if I wanted our check (In the end, we were done and another waitress brought us the check.) During this time we observed just how filthy the Window area was. The food was 3 stars on a good day but I subtracted a star due to poor service and cleanliness. read more

Went yesterday with my two kids. Walked in, person making pizza yelled out, just so you know, your order will take about half an hour, it's our Prep time. No "hi, how are you, what would you like". Ok so I am back in the wonderful township of York, Pa. Watching yet another nut nudging sheepdog this one stands 32" high...how do I know? My inseam is 31" nuff said. And I remembered that pizza place that I wrote about earlier and decided to go back and try their subs...or grinders...or heroes....or whatever they call it in Pa. I ordered a meatball sub with a side of garlic bread extra garlic, I first did my due diligence and asked the cutie patootie (oh give it up they're no ugly women in this place and I'm a chunky guy, the sub would make me more excited) if the meatball subs were any good...she said yes (as expected) the sub was... well... it was decent, it was worth the trip the sub roll was crusty on the outside and soft and sauce absorbent on the inside which is how it should be, with melted cheese on top it was great... However... my only complaint is that it suffered from the same problem that every meatball sub maker in every pizzeria in America suffers from, and that is one less meatball...Can I get an amen from the back? Holla! Preach my brother! ...drives me nutz, hee hee hee get it nutz...meatballs? Yea I thought it was funnier in my head... It just seems that every meatball sub always needs one extra meatball so the last two bites are not just sauce sopped cheesy bread. Ah well, one strike for that, no biggie I did go back a few days later and had their Fettuccine Alfredo to describe it I would have to say that it was a religious experience...it was so freaking good I saw dead relatives and not the ones that you avoid during family gatherings I saw my dear departed Aunt Rosa who looked over my Fettuccine and said "Daaaaammmmmn that looks good" Seriously the Fettuccine Alfredo is that freaking good my only complaint and maybe just a bit misunderstood is that I ordered 4 meatballs to go with it and they packaged them in another container but in a red sauce...that my peeps is a cardinal sin, I should have told them to quarter the meatballs and add them to the Alfredo sauce.....I also added at home some pink sea salt for a little cohesiveness of the pasta, but that is just me ...so what have we learned? This is a great little local spot. Very popular with sports teams and families. It's been a while since I've been there, but from what I recall everything has been tasty from the pasta, to the pizza, to the steak sandwiches. If you live nearby, stop in sometime! read more

We ordered over the weekend from Alberto's. Two subs and a pizza. Both subs were completely wrong and the "chopped steak" was a steak umm. Called them and they said they would give us a credit and that still hasn't happened. We used to love Alberto's, but their food has been going down hill and now the customer service is awful. I have only visited this place once. I ordered two pizzas for an event while visiting relatives. Both were well executed, and the employees were friendly and accommodating. I am somewhat picky about pizza and have had some truly great pizzas, including some prepared by establishments known for offering prototypical pizzas of different styles. Loud, foul-mouthed young guy was regaling his co-workers with stories that were peppered with "F" bombs and other curse words that everyone in the dining room could hear. An older women was also shouting at the top of her lungs. Is everyone who works here deaf? The food was tasteless and mediocre at best. Ordered a sub that was on what seemed like a hotdog bun. Favorite Pizza of York, hands down.. MY kids love it, I love it and my wife loves it... she also loves it because its in Dallastown and sees lots of people she knows... she seems to know everyone. 5 Stars because this is as good as it gets in York for Pizza. Usually take home a meal once a week for the family. Service is ok sometimes and very hospitable others. The seasoning they use for the sauce is great! They have super stromboli as well. The 2 pizzas for $13.95 was better at $12.99 but hey, it's good pizza!!! Hot and cold subs are very good. Feb. 2017. The place looks much better because of a makeover! The waitresses are really slow but that's not the end of the world. Some people are hoping continuing improvements will include replacing Pepsi products with Coke (yes, there is a difference!!!) and adding diet and caffeine free drinks as well as unsweetened tea (with packs of sweetener).
