Went to the Golden Shower Dragon for lunch with the family on the way home from Branson MO, we fought on the way about which one of the many Chinese restaurants we were going to eat at and am I glad we did. When we arrived parking was crowded but not terrible, we went in and were not immediately seated but didn't wait too long! After being seated I ordered unsweet ice tea which was pretty good! Went to the buffet hit fried rice, generals chicken, an egg roll, spring roll, what they called cheese wontons, and some mushrooms oh and some freaking delicious dumplings!!!! Only really weird part of this restaurant is that the bowls And plates were under the buffet with neon light on them it was cra!!!! Didn't really go for seconds but had a little sushi it was tasty but just your run of the mill buffet sushi!!!! Then for desert we had some ice cream watch you head though cause my asshat friend Sean kept hitting his on the lamp above the table, but hey it was good for a few laughs like 4x lol but overall it was pretty good buffet so... The place was not as bad as I thought. I didn't really know what to expect since this was my first time here in springdale. My son wanted to eat something that he gave a lot of options of course buffet was the only thing I can think of. There were a decent amount of variety from seasame chicken, general chicken, to fried shrimp, sweet n sour chicken. They had sushi which as okay nothing spectacular about it. Your common rolls Philadelphia, California,etc. the hiabachi was okay. I had the crawfish there and it was not tobad for a buffet. But of course I live in Houston where Cajun restaurants are popping up like crazy. Service was good and speedy. The food was terrible. All of the chicken dishes had way too much breading and not enough flavor. The guy who was cooking the hibachi was not friendly and seemed inconvenienced to cook our food. A little more expensive than Panda, but we still go here often. See my review for Panda for a clearer picture. Basically, if we want sushi and crawfish, we go here. The crawfish are well seasoned here, but goodness, they are just so stingy about bring out the crawfish. One time, we had our nemasis, he kept getting the crawfish a leaving us the scraps! We have to wait for so long and try to beat him to it. Their sushi is good for a buffet. I mean, if you can eat all the sushi here and compare it to some place in which they charge you a lot for it, I would go here instead. All sushi are they same anyway, at least here in NWA. Anyway, the mussels are okay, but not as good as Panda. Also, do you know what they do not have? An ice cream machine!! What a travesty. They have a scoop them up ice cream, but if I am so full, it is kinda hard to bend to scoop some ice cream. Food quality wise, they are a little bit better than Panda, but service wise, they are not as friendly as Pandas'. So, I will still keep eating here and Panda unless there is a better and cheaper place that opens that have best of both places. read more

Since they moved to their new location they have gone way down hill. We eat here every Christmas Eve, but last night will be the last. It was dirty, smelled like bleach water, the buffet was sparse, food dry/overcooked, and the staff seemed much more interested in standing behind the lotto ticket desk (why did they start selling lotto tickets at the front??). The best thing was the ice cream in the cooler. Sad to have to change tradition, but the food is not good, the building showing much need of a cleaning, and the staff seem only interested in socializing up front. read more

If you like the taste of other people's hands, I've got a place for you...The bowls they use on their buffet are just the right shape so that the tongs/ladles fall back into the dish. Ordered a lunch special to-go and when I got back to work 10 minutes later food was still HOT HOT HOT! I had to wait a few minutes to dive in. The fried rice was very fresh with carrots,peas, and nice size pieces of onion. Sesame chicken was sweet and just right. Portions were average. Eggrolls were slighty above average in taste ifor Northwest Arkansas and were of average size. Waitstaff was very accomadating and I believe my meal was a value for the price of $6.50 + tax. Went at 2:00, been a long time since the last time we ate there(loved it then) food was all pretty old (not fresh) even though there were quite a few customers there. Even the sushi was dried up from age, and condiments had visual signs of being left out too long. Oh, and no Kim-chee! What's up with that!! Service was good, got plenty to drink.. Will say that! Pretty good buffet. We came at 9PM, thinking that it was too late for crab legs. But, my dad expressed his frustration and about 15 min later, BAM! Crab legs for us. Haha! Selection was nice, especially the frog legs, crab legs, and the variety of sushi! Wish the server would have refilled my drink more, but I guess it's fine. My first trip to Golden Dragon was interesting.. First thing I noticed was the how dark and drab the atmosphere was.. No problem though, as the food looked good.. At one point I asked a worker where the plates were and he responded ........"HUH?" as if totally oblivious to his surroundings.. Kind of in a daze.. I have been here a couple of times. My food has always been good and I get plenty of it. I have not tried the buffet yet. I always order to go. One time my order did not go through online and when I showed up it was not ready. But the manager threw in an extra egg roll, which I thought was nice, and they promptly got my food ready. Horrible buffet. When the best thing on the entire buffet is the deep fried mushrooms....time to eat elsewhere. The food was very bland and mostly tasteless. We ate there for lunch today. It has to be one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food was nauseating - it literally made me sick to my stomach. even the place where you pick out your meat and vegetables and give it to the man to grill fresh was terrible. He didn't speak English at all, and I could not get him to understand that I did not want any sauce. When he was finished, he just set it on the counter and didn't bother to let me know it was ready, and he walked off. I couldn't eat it. It was terrible. The sushi bar is excellent, but the gentleman who prepares the sushi speaks no English, he's not ignoring you, he just doesn't understand what you're saying. Would have given it 3 stars after the first time...2 stars after the 2nd and a borderline 1-2 after my most recent...seems that the food has done downhill a little bit and some of the items are of a little questionable quality. My son absolutely loves Chinese food. Out of the places we have tried in the area this is the best. My husband & son loves all the seafood choices. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken. I eat at a buffet with my wife about once a week, and would go here all the time, but instead go to Red Dragon that has half the selection, not always warm or fresh, but they treat you like family and it is 25% less.
