I am deeply dissatisfaction with the service I received. I placed an order for pickup, and upon arriving home, I discovered that the items provided were completely different from what I had ordered. This was not a minor error involving a single item - two separate items were incorrect. When I contacted the restaurant to report the mistake, I was extremely disappointed by the response. Rather than acknowledging the error and offering to correct it, I was informed that they would not exchange the items. This lack of accountability and unwillingness to resolve the issue reflects a serious deficiency in customer service. This has been the most disappointing customer service experience I have encountered. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this establishment to others. read more

I can't believe I've never written a review for our go to place in Rockville Centre. There's about 5 or 6 Chinese take out restaurants in RVC and probably another 10-15 within a 10-15 minute drive. We've tried most of them but nothing compares to Golden Fortune. Best portion size, best flavors and overall best customer service. Favs are the Beef Chow Fun, Singapore Chow Mei Fun and General Tao's Shrimp, but we've never had anything we didn't like. OK, this isn't Chinatown or Flushing, it is suburban Long Island. For what it is and for who it caters to, I think the food here is excellent. We have several favorites, the mei fun, and chow fun dishes. The place itself is doing a re-do, new chairs, and tables rather than the old booths. There is a new wood-like floor that replaces ancient linoleum tiles. More updates to come. The place is friendly, very reasonably priced and great delivery. I give Golden Fortune an A+. I have been consistently ordering from this restaurant once per month or more for the last 3 years. Their food quality has significantly improved over time and the service is top notch. They have never made a mistake on any of my orders (impressive given a few very drunk orders with people yelling dishes out in the background), the food is consistent and staff is very friendly. Got shrimp and broccoli for lunch when I got back to work and started eating I noticed an empty shrimp shell that I had not eaten. I proceed to look into my food & noticed a big brown spot in between my broccoli and found a huge bug in my food. I went back to the restaurant and asked for my money back. I was craving the typical greasy spoon, americanized, chinese food. So, when I saw this place had lunch specials around $5, I knew that's exactly what I would be getting. The boneless ribs were done properly, pork fried rice was typical. This is a good go-to when you're in a pinch and just crave those unnatural flavors. My family and I loved this place and got takeout at least once a week. Each dish was always prepared a little differently (but still good!). Our favorites were the wonton soup, mai fun noodles, lo mein, and Gen Tso's chicken. Service was always quick (15 minutes) and it was cheap. You even got a coupon for a free dish if your order was over $35! It wasn't the best food I've ever tasted in my entire life but it was at least average. Perfect spot, right? Unfortunately, this past weekend, we had the worst takeout of my entire life. I have no idea if there was something wrong in the kitchen or what, but everything had the taste of fried burnt rubber. No matter what dish, it just was inedible. Instead of greedily and quickly eating every bite, I ended up throwing out 95% of my plate. My family and I also had headaches (MSG?) and stomach sickness within 24 hours of eating it, when previously we had never had a problem. Golden fortune was our first experience of Chinese food since moving to RVC and to be honest it was good but it wasn't amazing. We ordered shrimp fried rice no veggies and it surely wasn't fried and had no flavor just some boiled brown rice and some shrimp which was a bit disappointing. We also ordered a large chicken and broccoli which was actually pretty good and tasted much better with the white rice it came with. They're fried pork dumplings were good too. Overall I'll give this place 4 stars but they need to work on that shrimp fried rice for sure. read more

The bonless barbecue spare ribs over pork fried rice is my favorite along with the dumplings and all the other delicious options you have to pick from. This place is very affordable as well, especially with the certain giveaways with your order. Lisa at the counter is very professional and always knows what I want when I walk through the door. I was nervous Golden Fortune would leave me with the same bad taste so stayed safe ordering the sesame chicken and rice which tasted delicious even the day after which is rare! Well, one day, I was tired of getting the same sesame dish, so, I took the dive and ordered their version of bonless ribs. It was delectable! This place used to be really good. Ordered it about once a week. Food seemed fresh and had great quick delivery. The last two times I ordered, I had to call in twice to check to see if the food was even coming. (took over an hour for delivery). The last order I actually got, the food was cold and tasted really off. Scallion pancakes were inedible, like cardboard. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I decided to try again tonight and place an order. Nope. Just didn't bother to deliver. Didn't call and say it wasn't going to be able to be delivered or anything. Decent food but the counter guy is a jerk. I placed my order and he proceeded to ignore me when I tried to pay for several minutes but handled everyone else around me. Weird. Then there was a young girl there whose card didn't work and he proceeded to embarrass her and yell "u out have no money in the bank" after the second time he swiped it. This happens people. And you never know when something like that will happen to u. I understood his fustration but did he have to embarrass her like that? I told him to stop treating her like that and instructed him to just add it to my tab. He did but was still as ass.
