Delicious! Amazing ambiance! Incredible service! We came here for my birthday dinner and were blown away from beginning to end. We were seated immediately (we had a reservation) and they asked if we wanted to be closer to the music (a fabulous acoustic musician!) or further away. We opted for further away so we could chat but we were still able to hear the music. Our waiter was amazing and so friendly. Asked if we spoke Spanish. Explained the specials (including the date night menu which is a pre fixe). We ended up ordering from the regular menu as there was an app I had my eye on that was not part of the date night special. The anticucho with cow was sadly unavailable so we opted for the chicken which was delicious. The sauces they use are spicy and hit the spot. For my entree I had the branzino which was massive and the side of tostones were a nice touch. For drinks I had the coconut drink which was creamy and strong, my partner had the white sangria which was refreshing and would be great on a hot evening. Before we left I mentioned it was my birthday and our waiter ran to the back to bring us a yummy dessert which included mini churros! Everything and everyone here is so friendly and pleasant. The price of food is way to high for what you get. Drinks were good, but my entree was ridiculously small. I ordered the scallops, only 4 scallops came in the dish, and not the bigger sized ones but the tiny ones instead. If you are only serving 4 scallops without any accompaniment like rice or a vegetable, then they should be the bigger sized scallops not the small ones! otherwise you served an appetizer and made it pass as an entree. My husband ordered a steak, menu said it was supposed to be 9oz but in reality it was more like 6oz at best. The experience was insulting, we felt as if we were treated like we knew no better. We had originally planned to have dessert at this restaurant but after experiencing that we left and went somewhere else. We will not be returning. There was a live band singing both Spanish and English songs -it was such a nice touch. The Manager was also very pleasant and attentive. Popped into this gorgeous restaurant in Long Island for an early dinner. It was super beautiful in there , the paintings were amazing Carlos our server was awesome and funny. Everything came out super fast and was delicious. The drinks were creative and on point. The ceviche was so fresh, I could have ordered another serving. They have a life band later in the evening that was great and not to loud. Tables were spaced appropriately so I didn't feel like I was sitting on top of someone else. Made reservation for party of 4 for today a Saturday with a credit card. Would not seat you unless the whole party was present. Hostess stated that it was a two hour experience and it will start the minute you sit....not sure what experience they were referring to...it was the coldest day in nyc... and never mentioned that the heat was out in the restaurant. We asked if we can change our table since our table was by the door and was told no. Therefore, we sat through our dinner with coats on like the rest of the people in the restaurant. We came here for my daughter's 21st birthday after driving past it for a while over the last few months. I will say the attendance to detail in the decor is amazing and my daughter and I happen to love Peruvian food, so we were really excited when she picked this place for her birthday celebration. It took less than two minutes from the time we sat down to our waiter to come and talk about specials and take our drink order. The weight staff is beyond amazing and nice. I the live music is a nice touch although a bit loud but the food fell flat. We were so disappointed. The limo did not taste Peruvian. They used wedges instead of fries, the rice had no salt. Came here for my birthday celebration on a sat night May 23rd we had a decent size group and an extra guest showed up and the staff accommodated quickly to make sure everyone was seated. Me and my guests were all seated by the stage which was amazing! The singer was really amazing and my food was out of this world! The woman who took the photos did a great job and presented the printed out photos perfectly and they were framed nicely, I think having her there added a great touch to the restaurant. On top of that, the service was absolutely terrible. The staff had a bad attitude from the moment we walked in, and it only got worse throughout the night. We went here for dinner. The food was okay and the servers were good. But the hostess had a bad attitude as if she didn't want to work. At first they sat at right next to the stage, which we asked to move because we knew it would be loud. She was very dismissive and kept saying we have there are reservations. But there were multiple seats available throughout the restaurant. 2, 3, 4 and 5 seaters. When ppl make reservations it's for whatever seats. No one requests specific seats in the restaurant so if you can seat us , we can be seated anywhere that will accommodate 3 ppl. Finally we were able to move. As the time went out I saw other ppl request seat changes and they were happily granted it without argument. But 1 other couple was not and they ended up getting up and walking out. Inside Pappa Gallo is a beautifully decorated restaurant, with floral decor, paintings and very dim lighting. At the front of the restaurant, a small stage with a talented singer, belting out familiar songs while you dine. The menu isn't long, offering traditional Peruvian dishes. We dined on the Lomo Saltado, a stir fry of steak, veggies, French fries accompanied by white rice, the Arroz Chaufo con Vegetales, a vegetable fried rice topped with avocado and an order of the rotisserie chicken. The chicken was juicy, the skin was crisp, and the sauces on the side added more flavor. The fried rice was seasoned well. My guest really enjoyed their Lomo Saltado, but found the soggy fries not so nice. The service here is fine. Not bad, but not great, I find that when gratuity is included servers don't put in the extra effort. Four stars really for the prices, the price point just seemed too high for portions and what the dishes consisted of. A friend and I had dinner here last night (Tuesday) and we had a really good dining experience. Our reservation was for 7:15pm and we were greeted and seated right away. The service was good and our orders came out pretty fast and everything was actually hot (not warm) and fresh which was a huge plus! Even with the big group, their orders still came out pretty quick. The ambiance and decor in here is beautiful. The velvet chairs are so comfortable and the dim lighting gives a very intimate feel and the menus light up so you have no problem seeing. They had a live singer which really added to the mood. I love how spacious it is, especially between tables, so you don't feel on top of other diners. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio, which I'm sure is great during warmer weather. Drinks; I started with the pisco sunrise sunset and my friend had the ignite the fire. Both were good but I preferred the pisco sunrise sunset: it was a bit on the sweeter side but tasted refreshing and still had a taste of the alcohol. I also tried the pisco punch and I have to say this one might be deadly! Lol I would compare it to a rum punch, it tastes sweet and fruity but I definitely woke up with a hangover the next day which caught me by surprise. Food: we had the chicharron de pollo for appetizer. It was really good and that salsa verde sauce it comes with is AMAZING! I think the portion they give for $17 is really small though, as we know chicken cutlets aren't expensive. For entrees I had the "Arroz con Mariscos", which is a seafood paella, and my friend had the "Salmon a la Plancha" served with yuca mash and broccolini. Both entrees were good and flavorful. I would have liked my paella in more sauce but other than that, it was good. I would definitely go back and recommend here for any special occasion. read more

I went here for my birthday on a Wednesday evening with my family and the food exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was absolutely beautiful, along with the exotic decor, it was a wonder place to take pictures! The food portion was excellent and the drinks were delicious. The ambiance is so nice in there but if you're into well lit places you may not agree with how dim it is. The server Angie was nice and attentive ! Visited on a Saturday night, the inside is decorated beautifully and the live music added to the lively experience. The pisco cocktails were delicious.
