I had been in Pahrump 5 days for Death Valley. I am not normally a fast food eater, but had been living on it for a few days. I needed a homey, comfort food experience and went to Golden Harvest at the Nugget. I was a little worried by other reviews, but those were not my experience. I was seated quickly and the hostess was funny. The waitress appeared immediately and was also super friendly. I was able to get the au ju without fries (subbed Cole slaw) and had a beer. This is a really nice cafe in the city of Pahrump. This place also has some Sugar free items such as Sugar free syrup and Sugar Free Jam. The pancakes here were fluffy and tasted very good and the eggs were cooked just like we ordered them, we both had ordered the Corn beef hash and that was really good, it tasted like you would be at a high end restaurant. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive and brought everything to our table right away. The food was fresh. The place was clean at looks like it has been remodeled recently. Since my wife and I are doing the Low carb diet we both substitute the potatoes for the tomato slices. We both had coffee and that to tasted good. We have been waiting for 25 minutes to try to be seated. There are people at the front desk that are trying to order food.. I saw someone take a video it is this bad . I have tried to call their administration department and it is a tape recording that just rolls over . If it is this bad in the front. I think a health inspector should check the kitchen. What's up with the negative reviews? Arrived at 830 on a Thursday night after a harsh 15 mile hike up Avawatz peak. The menu seems to be pared down due to Covid. Everything I ate here was pretty good and the prime rib was fantastic. Loved the onion rings and the Caesar said I'd surprisingly good. Prices are reasonable but slightly higher then they use to be. read more

Don't really get the negative reviews. I thought this place was pretty good. We had a BOGO coupon from the American Casino Guide and decided to try it out. They were running some fun October specials. The place was really nice. You could hear some of the slot floor but it wasn't crazy. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too crowded. I saw reviewers mentioning smoke coming in but I did not experience that. We sat pretty close to the entrance. Food was very reasonably priced considering it's a casino. Although I'm from Vegas where they jack up everything because everyone comes in with a food comp. My salad was only $8 and was pretty hearty. My husband's bratwurst was $9 and included a drink. Husband really liked his gravy on his mashed potatoes. All in all without coupon we were out of there for around $10 (before tip of course). Service was decent. Wasn't super prompt but the server handled all our requests well. I would come here again even without a coupon. read more

My wife and I stopped at the Golden Harvest Cafe, in the Pahrump Nugget Casino today at about 1:15 pm. The dining room was basically empty with possibly two tables being used. The woman at the front desk asked us if we'd mind waiting about 5 minutes to be seated because she was very busy. We agreed of course, and sat down on the bench there in the lobby area. She proceeded to fuss with some receipts at the cash register for a bit, then a few people came up to get take out, and a couple of employees of the casino walked up to settle their tabs. Other employees were coming up and chatting with her. We waited about 10 minutes while this went on. Mind you, the dining room was empty. We stood up to leave, and she ignored us. She walked behind us to cross our name off her list, and without a word, let us walk out. Terrible service. read more

Do not recommend!! The fries were saturated in grease, tomatoes were mushy, corned beef was very thin and paying extra for avocado was not worth it. He came out and stated that they have new chefs, when I said this one wasn't acceptable and I could make something better at home in 5 minutes. He asked if I wanted application. We've eaten there multiple times and have always been very happy with their queisidilla in size and price. For $14, we would get one with chicken, and there were 8 slices, basically two large. Picked one up to go tonight and still paid $14. Got home and had 4 slices, paying $3.50 a slice. This is so sad and unacceptable. We could have bought a pizza and had more slices and even leftovers. Stephanie was our waitress & did a good job, checking on us as we had our breakfast meal of eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast. Well we went to the Pahrump Winery and were hungry so we were told to go to the Nugget. Well we should have spent the money & just gone to the Steakhouse. This place was just like a Denny's but on a budget. Yea prices are cheap...But you get what you pay for. Ugh. My Philly cheesesteak was not even warm and the steak fries were soggy & Luke warm at best. My guests "medium well/Prime Rib" looked like a well done steak. Located in the casino, this was an easy place to go to dinner after a long day spent exploring Death Valley. We stayed in the hotel and got a $20 credit we could use for gas, food or play at the Nugget. I been going there once or twice a month and the last few months the service has gone downhill. This last time I only saw the waitress three times once to take my order and when she dropped off my food she was rude and the only next time I saw her was when she dropped off the check. Did not ask if I needed anything and never came over to refill my drinks. Plus the place was empty with only 3 tables with people and maybe 6 people total. POOR!!! The food was not very good either and months ago I always enjoyed the service and food. But now I don't know what happened. The employees in the whole casino and restaurants did not seem in a good mood. I blame that on upper management because I did not see the morale being pleasant. Started off with a cup of Chili which came with some crackers, tasted good nice and hot and was overfilled. Waited about 10 minutes or so for my cup of chili, my friend got mozzarella sticks which were amazing aswell. Overall about 30 minute wait for the chicken tenders and fries I ordered for my entree. My waitress was very nice, checked up on us and made sure we had drinks and if we needed anything. We came for breakfast on June 30. Our waitress had five tables, including us. Most were couples, and one table of four. It took 15 minutes to have our order taken. About 25 minutes later we got our food. The waitress never came back to check on us, or even bring the check. We had to ask the busperson to refill our drinks. After waiting five minutes for our check, we told the cashier we didn't get one. She checked our table number and rang us up. This was by far the worst restaurant service we've ever experienced in Pahrump. Never again. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch. The place was 80-90% empty. Three employees were standing by the cash register...joking amongst themselves. There were two parties in line in front of me.I am not sure how long they were there before I arrived. After approximately 10 minutes of waiting, the man in the party at the front asked people at the register what was happening, and was told that they were in the middle of the shift change. This was the first explanation I heard for the delay in seating and I only heard it because the man decided to ask himself. Otherwise, it was apparent these three employees who were right in front of us were perfectly willing to let us wait there without providing any information. This man's party and the party behind him became upset and decided to leave the restaurant. After these two parties left, I was the only person left standing in line at that time. I asked to see the manager in order to help explain what had just happened. Upon explaining the situation to the manager about the seven or eight customers that had just left, and what she might try to alleviate the confusion in the future, the manager became upset with me and threatened to call security. The manger and a supportive waitress smirked and said "bye bye" to me as I left. Eventually security did catch up to me where I told them the story written in the paragraph above. Per security request I filled out a casino incident report. I do not know if this casino report will matter. Anyhow, on this day and time the restaurant service/policy angered 8-9 people who went elsewhere. I will note I have been there many times before and not had any problems. But the managers condescending attitude, her calling security in a situation that warranted nothing more than simple discussion, and the disrespectful smirking while saying "bye bye" is probably a bit too much for me to consider a return visit absent a positive response from Casino management. We had breakfast there on June 1st at 5:45 am. We also ordered 3 Cobb salads to go for lunch, with one without egg, for a class we were taking later in the day. Apparently this was really complicated because the kitchen staff put egg on all three salads. What was really raggedy is that they apparently realized their mistake and tried to hide the hard boiled egg under lettuce on one of the salads. This is a shame because our server was really nice and we did leave a very good tip. So, needless to say we will not be back and I recommend any others considering this place to try somewhere else because you don't know what other shady things they are doing in the kitchen. read more

Have you found yourself in Pahrump? Are you hungry? Your choices are limited. Do you go get fast food, or perhaps you can dine at one of the brothels? Ah, the choices. My family and I went out to visit my God-parents who have made a second home in Pahrump, Nevada. Their main home is an RV which mainly travels to Alaska during Summer months and wherever they damn well please in reality. Ah, retirement. After visiting we needed sustenance and being that way with families... tastes were taken into consideration with choosing Golden Harvest Cafe. Needed to be friendly to many different palates. We were seated quickly and service was fine. As for the food - typical American with a splash here and there of other main dishes such as spaghetti and fish and chips. I opted for the French Dip. The sandwich was dry, the au jus had a taste that was just off... I couldn't put my finger on it. It was served with freeze and bake French fries. The rest of my family had a range of food - salads, the spaghetti dish, and the burgers. Overall return factor not high. I'll try another place the next time I'm in Pahrump. read more

Terribly disappointed =( We were there Saturday morning for breakfast. Started off with 5 minute wait to be be seated while the 'hostess/waitress" continued chatting to co-worker. Then we were told to wait while they wiped off some tables! There were only 3 other people there. We ordered the basic egg breakfast. The Toast was rock hard cold ! Saw they place single toast orders on ledge ahead of time. The bacon was cold and the med-well eggs we ordered had the whites running ! We also had a 10 minute wait at the cashier. First time eating here and we are actually blown away. Amazing prices for big portion of yummy food that won't leave you feeling hungry! I was a little skeptical for it being a restaurant in a casino but I am blown away at how delicious everything was. I came in craving a burger and I left satisfied.
