    BEWARE!

Thought I'd give this place a try... huge mistake. Came 2 hours before they closed and they acted like I was causing an inconvenience by walking in. The hostess then tried to sit me at a DIRTY table, in which there were two other workers literally mopping the floors, and the place stinking cleaning products. I asked if I could sit somewhere else (the place is literally empty mind you) and they acted like I was asking for VIP service. Food was poor quality, made me feel sick as soon as I started to get up from the table to leave. Side note.... there was a mom with her baby not eating talking loudly on the phone behind me. The bathrooms smell like a Vegas casino and there was no music being played. If you enjoy a sad looking buffet like a cliche out of a movie, go try this place.

Roach on the wall in dining area next to table.

Roaches crawling on walls and table when we sat down with our plate of food. Another visit the waitress threw an out right temper tantrum screaming her tip ($6 at lunch) was horrible for waiting on four people. All the while she was taking our food m/plates before we were done eating. Constantly coming to our table in excess filling water when not needed and taking plates to rush us out. She was mad because she was wrong about a "group" coupon claimed it was only for one person and when she asked the manager about it her told her he was wrong. From that point she treated up terribly. When angered over the tip she threw it on the table. We complained and manager didn't seem to care. We have never been back and never will.

We'd never been here before, thus, we were new to this scene! Even stepping in seemed an experience, following behind two ladies, donned in Derby Hats, & their two dapper gentlemen, who smiled, held open the door, & graciously waved us in!! Then, at a long table we happily joined, our extended, car fanatic family. Thus, the festivities began, as our evening flowed pleasantly.. What We Found : Service: Friendly & Attentive.. Our iced tea was refilled & our tables kept clean. And our server, steered us in the right direction, in recommending the Surf & Turf dinner, which was Delightful.. Ambiance: Lofty & Modern Aesthetic, with Rustic Elements. (But still too modern, for our liking). Nearby, seemed a nicer table: with a wooden tent like canopy, situated near a great hearth.. Food: Generous portions of entrees & sides. The hearty sides, are served family style. We ordered: Bacon Cornbread; Mac & Cheese; Roasted Brussel Sprouts; Roasted Mushrooms; & Truffle Fries. These Tasted Divine... Especially the bacon cornbread, served with a dollop of brown butter, which disappeared in no time!! Whilst our Surf & Turf Dinner, of: Shrimp & Beef, served on skewers, atop a bed of Fried Rice, Kicked Us Out of Our Comfort Zone. This was quite unlike the country cuisine of Bowling Green, for so long known!! And, the horseradish sauce, served alongside, seemed rich & robust!! Indeed, the menu seemed to convey the chef's creative touch!! However, our friend beside us, bemoaned that his elk steak dinner, was mostly burnt!! To the staff, not saying a word!! Moreover, Beau found his Strawberry Shortcake, a tad too dry. But from Beau's pretty dessert, to the Almond Cake, ordered at the table--all seemed a pastry feast for the eyes!! Overall: We Found This Classy Venue, A Welcome Change From The Familiar..Hearty Southern Fare, Fine Tuned With A Touch Of The Exotic!! So Happy To Say: We Loved It !!

I wanted to order one of the bar stool specials and was told that I absolutely could not order it while sitting in the dining room. I understand restaurants have policies, but refusing to serve an item that you are actively serving elsewhere in the same restaurant simply because I was sitting in the dining room felt unnecessarily rigid--especially when we were there celebrating a special occasion. Rather than order something I didn't want, I ended up having mac and cheese as my entire meal. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did nothing to make up for it. Our water was never cold, the carrots and potato salad were both disappointing, and the food took far too long to arrive. For a restaurant that presents itself as a nicer dining experience, I expected much better food, service, and hospitality. Instead, my wife's birthday dinner was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I left frustrated, disappointed, and feeling like we spent our money at the wrong place. We won't be returning.

We haven't been there in maybe two months and this time when we walked in it looked all refreshed like someone had come in and redid their tables and they had new menus and it looked really nice. However, what was lacking was the quality of the service and the food. I remember feeling like I was at someone's house because it was very comfortable and family feeling especially by the wait staff this time we walked in and instead of saying pick where you want to sit like they used to some girl sat us over on a side of the room. OK no problem then they handed us these new menus and there was no soup. Usually they give you free soup then some other lady came over with the soup and put it on the table then they took our order and the waitress seemed like we were bothering her. They brought out the food. The quality of the food went down big time. My husband always orders the chicken yakisoba so does my daughter, my daughter also ordered a sushi roll. I ordered hibachi steak and instead of rice I wanted noodles. My husband and daughter said that their food didn't taste like it used to and my hibachi steak (now mind you I had a hibachi steak at a different Japanese restaurant in Georgia so I'm thinking it's going to taste the same.) She even asked me how I wanted my steak cooked and I said, medium rare. I got little squares of very overcooked pieces of meat that looked like they went to the store and bought some stew beef (at the other Japanese restaurant that we went to it was actually filet mignon.) The steak was hard and rubbery at the other restaurant. It was beautifully cooked. Also, my noodles tasted like they were drenched in teriyaki sauce, which I can't stand. Everything was too sweet and I will probably not ever go back there now.

We ordered a sushi roll as an appetizer -- simple enough. But it never came. Halfway through our meal, we realized our server had disappeared, and we finally had to flag down a different waitress. Only then did we learn the order had never even been placed. Even after that, it took more than 20 minutes and still no sushi roll. By the time it finally showed up, we were so fed up we just had it boxed to take home. And here's the kicker: it wasn't even a busy night. Well over half the tables were vacant. There was absolutely no excuse for such inattentive, careless service. A restaurant's reputation rests as much on service as on food. Ichiban may still be known as a Bowling Green favorite, but if they keep operating this way, that reputation won't last. Right now, they're failing their customers in a big way.
