    Specialty Drink Menu

Located at a corner of the town square in Scottsville, the restaurant has been open for around 6 weeks. The inside is galley- style with three tables near the entrance and cash register area with approximately five or six booths that seat four. There's also a small two person table toward to back. Decor is nice, fresh and with an Asian theme. The booths and almost all of the tables were full when we arrived at 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. We sat at the front larger table at the windows and it was a bit cool and breezy with all of the people going in and out but the overall temperature inside was comfortable. It appears they are doing a good amount of take out as well as dine in service. The music playing was a nice sampler track of acoustic guitar, just wish the entire songs were allowed to play instead of 30-45 seconds of each one. Pick up a large and colorful menu at the kiosk just inside the door as you walk in or get one at the register. Be aware there are two menus, the main one with most of the items offered and then a second one for specialty drinks. You can take your menus to a table/booth to decide what you want to order just like we did since this was our first visit, and then you'll need to go back to the register to order and pay. They give a "cash discount" so keep in mind you'll be paying a 4% higher price for using a credit card. Not sure about debit cards so ask before paying. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. Our drinks were brought out right away, a soda (Pepsi products), water with lemon (no charge) and a Thai Milk Tea with Crystal Boba. The Thai Milk Tea was well balanced being not too sweet, too watery or too strong. The boba were fresh and just the right texture. We both ordered the Hibachi Chicken which comes with a clear chicken broth soup that has a bit of shredded chicken and chopped green onion in it, a larger sized side of fried rice, hibachi grilled mixed vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, carrot, zucchini, onion), and the hibachi chicken that is lightly seasoned and sauced. A small dish of the Yum Yum & ginger sauce which was mild added a bit of flavor and was served on the side. Portion size was ample and we were both moderately hungry when we arrived and left quite full. Didn't use the restrooms but if the cleanliness and overall appeal of the restaurant are an indicator they are likely in good shape. Parking was readily available immediately outside on the square, more available on side streets as well.

    Chicken hibachi

This restaurant sits in a great location and host a beautiful display of typical Japanese decor. The staff are friendly and the food is brought to the table relatively quickly. I'm not sure if it's typical, no staff acknowledged it, but the AC clearly struggles or was out? It was cooler when we walked outside leaving. The California rolls were great. Rice cooked perfectly with fresh ingredients. The hibachi was fine. The chicken tasted a little off and cabbage as well (very bitter and I love cabbage). The takoyaki was a nightmare. It was the whole reason I came here. It looked delicious but the first bite made it obvious it was undercooked. The inside was completely raw. This restaurant features an "order here" counter where you pay as you order, and as such it felt like more trouble to say anything about the food after we had already received it.

Food was good. Limited seating but ok atmosphere. Friendly service. Ramen came 10-15 minutes after everyone else got their food tho.

Why would they have online ordering open if their restaurant is already closed before their hours say that they're closed?! It says they close at 9:30 PM, I ordered my food at 8:30. I'm beyond livid. Next day update: I called them and let them know what happened. They were super nice and apologetic. They made my food I came and picked it up and she gave me a free drink. She was really nice. The food on the other hand is just mildly OK at best. My expectations were already very low because it's Tennessee and it's Gallatin so I wasn't expecting anything different but I definitely would never come back here. Service was great though they're super nice and maybe if I ate this there would've been different. I don't wanna bash this place because everybody's taste buds are different. And I'm also from California. I grew up eating sushi so I have a higher standard of what I declare as good sushi. I did get I think two cooked rolls, I got lovely couple in the best friend role and a vegetable role in the miso soup. Miso soup is OK I've had way worse, but I've also had better, but it's definitely my favorite out of the four items I got. The rolls wouldn't be too bad if they weren't so dry. They just feel so dry and extremely cooked through and the shrimp has a bit of a fishy after taste. They were really nice though.

I'm all for eating sushi anytime I can even in the middle of nowhere in a land locked state. You…read moreabsolutely can't have high expectations for a spot like this so I really didn't. Let's just say, the expectations I did have... They were met. I expected the fish to not be insanely fresh and I was right. The fish really tasted like nothing. The only thing that I could taste were my salmon skin Handrolls because they were smoked (I hate that smoke flavor). I made do with the smoke flavor though and devoured them because I was hungry. The portion size on the salmon skin hand rolls were pretty generous though so I will give them that!! My husband said his sushi tasted like something he might get from a gas station, but again, kinda to be expected considering where we were. The people working at this spot ALL VERY NICE and I'm sure there are some things (like the hibachi) that are great, we just didn't order those things.

We were told over the phone that the ramen was gluten-free as long as it was made with the rice noodles. Based on that information, we drove over with our family, including a very hungry child. After we were seated, I told our waitress that I was gluten-free and that we had called ahead about the menu. Instead of letting us know right away that there was an issue, she went to speak with the manager, and we spent about 10 minutes looking over the menu and deciding what to order. When the manager finally came to our table, she told us they actually did not have any gluten-free options. I explained that we had specifically called ahead and were told the ramen was gluten-free with rice noodles. She clarified that only the plain rice noodles themselves were gluten-free--not the ramen or broth. That is very different from what we were told over the phone. I then asked whether I could order a poke bowl with white or brown rice. She said the rice was not gluten-free because it was prepared with sugar and vinegar. Since sugar and vinegar are typically gluten-free ingredients, I asked for clarification, but she simply repeated that she does not make any of the rice gluten-free and was unwilling to help identify anything on the menu that I could safely eat. I do appreciate that she refused to serve me something if she believed it wasn't safe. As someone with a gluten allergy, I'd much rather be told "no" than end up having an allergic reaction. However, the entire situation could have been avoided if we had been given accurate information over the phone or if we had been informed immediately after being seated instead of waiting while we looked through the menu. The biggest frustration was the wasted trip and wasted time. We drove over specifically because we were told there were gluten-free options, only to leave hungry with our family after sitting there with a hungry child. Better staff training and clearer communication about gluten-free options would go a long way in preventing this from happening to someone else.

Prices are reasonable. Other tables had the Ramen soups and tonkatsu, and they looked & smelled really great as well. If you are on the trail, this is a really good option! Don't miss!
