Super charming country themed bar and grill. We went for the taco plate special and we were not disappointed absolutely delicious food. Our service was phenomenal, great servers, and a wonderful bartender! I had a top shelf cadillac margarita and our friends both had a peach margarita we all said it was one of the best margaritas we've ever had. Hi, I visited the Golden Hop Salon recently and the food was just okay. The steak was nothing special. Neither were the green beans or mashed potatoes. Okay, but not Great. I was Very disappointed in the brownie. They offered whipped cream, but not ice cream. The brownie was very clearly from a mix, not homemade at all. An awful cheap brownie boxed mix. Parking was very hard to find on a Friday night, even at 5 PM. Please make our own desserts! For a $7.00 brownie, it shouldn't be too much to ask. Music was quiet, which was a plus. read more

While in Independence for the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial we chose this place on a whim - we were hungry and needed a beer. We were greeted immediately by a very nice person who seemed to be the entire wait staff with the help of a bartender. The prime rib melt was delicious as was the western burger. Onion rings and waffle fries ensured we shouldn't eat for a week. Would definitely recommend. Might even require a return trip to Independence. Also if in season, try a pfreim hazy ipa. Alexis gave us wonderful service! The burgers were good but a bit overcooked and hard but they tasted good. The French fries were some of the best I'd ever had. I stole one from a friend and wished I'd asked for French fries instead of the icky side salad. As a whole it was good and definitely go back on their Prime Rib night! read more

Been here a few times and was always pleased with my food and the service! It's a super cute family friendly, saloon themed restaurant. Perfect to grab dinner or get drinks with friends and play a game of pool. Alexis, the waitress is very nice and always on top of our drinks. My favorite thing is the coconut shrimp. So yummy! Great place to stop on a hot summer evening. The air conditioning was cold, the beer and water even colder. Waitress/bartender was the only one working the front on a Sunday evening but did a good job and was very friendly. We ordered Mac and cheese, fish tacos and a southwest chicken wrap. All were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the chipotle dipping sauce, I had it for my tots and added it to my wrap. We have been there a couple times and are always happy when we leave. read more

Decor I give 5 stars! Service I give 5 stars! Food: I liked the fries that came with my cheese burger. The bun, dressing, pickles, and cheddar cheese were spot on for the fixings of a great burger. Sadly the beef patty was tasteless and dry. Based on the beef patties perfect shape and terrible dense texture, I knew it was a frozen patty. I hope my review will change how this burger is made. If you can't do better than a fast food or my own grill, you got a problem. If a burger is on your menu, you better make it GREAT for $15!!!! My advice...check out how Benchwarmers in Corvallis makes their $8 pub burger or even the burger at the Brownsville Saloon or Applebees! Hand press those patties! Salt and pepper! It's not that hard to make an amazing burger. If you can't get that right, then I can't trust what else you can't cook on your menu. You are in a great location and the place is beautiful. Note to self, If you are a server, don't expect the other server to keep finding you to help your table and quit talking to your friend at the bar. I like the bar a lot, the burger was good, so were the onion rings but the nachos were perhaps the worst nachos I've ever had. Seriously, they were terrible. Like who makes nachos with salsa from a jar, the "queso" is canned cheese sauce, the chorizo was nowhere to be found. The whiskey selection is ok. Better than most bars. Clearly the bar knows some whiskey names but they could really build up a nice whiskey selection that they could advertise the heck out of. read more

Came in to see a local artist on a Friday night. Artist was amazing but the service was severely lacking... Waited over 5 minutes before we were approached and the waiter asked "do you want more than just food" without an introduction or drink requests. Waiter gave off a cold approach and acted as if we were a burden. Once we ordered, we waited and received our food prior to any drinks making it to our table. Received my cider almost half empty and was told the keg was out without asking if I wanted an alternative option. We also ordered waters that never arrived and did not receive napkins. Our previous experiences have not been quite as satisfactory, but I think it's because, at the time, they were working out the kinks in their system. We went to a car show in Independance and decided to try this place because it was with in walking distance to park. I had the scrambled eggs and toast and my husband had the lumberjack scramble. The service was fast and the breakfast was great. The coffee was really good too. I would recommend this place for sure. The ambiance was casual country and it does have a huge oak bar so it looks historical as well. They were setting up a beer garden outside for the July 4th stuff going on. We were told that they only cook their hamburgers well done because the cooks don't know how to make them any other way... what does that mean? I asked to speak to a manager or owner and was given a shift manager. She said the same thing about the kitchen staff and their inexperience. Spontaneously decided to try this place on a Friday night. Ordered the ribs and fries and the mac and cheese. Ribs came out refrigerator cold after only cutting one rib off the slab. Sent them back for reheating. Our first round of drinks were slow to come out, then our second round (while waiting for the ribs) took even longer and when we reminded the waitress, she was flustered that the bartender had not brought them to us (Jack and Coke isn't that hard!). Food was OK, nothing special. Never offered any compensation for the waits and issues we had. Probably would not return. read more

Atmosphere is very nice, and the lotto room would be a cool place to hang out... but, the drink prices are why this place won't be a busy destination in the area. I'm not the biggest fan of arena (the bar around the corner) but I'd rather go there and pay reasonable prices for things.
