This place was been around for quite awhile. It is a hidden gem that stands the test of time located in a dirt stripmall full of failing businesses and an old Laundromat. The food is some of the best Chinese in the area. It primarily takeout and delivery with maybe 1 or 2 tables inside that would feel awkward to eat at. Directly behind the counter is their kitchen so you can watch them make your food. This time I only got a pint of Hot and Sour soup. I expected it to just be sitting in a warmer somewhere but was surprised that they make it to order, throwing all the ingredients in a wok individually and stir frying it up. Decent Chinese takeout. When I'm visiting my buddy who lives around the corner, we sometimes order Chinese takeout or delivery ($11 min) from the Golden House located in the Hill Top strip plaza. They offer 39 Luncheon Specials ($4.65-$5.25 plus tax) served with pork fried rice & choice of soup, egg roll, or soda and 26 All Day Combination Platters ($6.25-$7.25 plus tax) served with pork fried rice & egg roll. We usually get the Shrimp Lo Mein (mushy noodle texture) and General Tso's Chicken combo deals. The food is on the salty side (MSG) and very filling. The service here is fairly quick (open kitchen) and the prices are pretty good. NOTE: No credit cards accepted. read more

*BEWARE OF HIGHER THAN ADVERTISED PRICES* Golden House makes pretty good takeout but the biggest issue I've noticed over the past times I've ordered is that the total they give you never correctly adds up. If you do the math, you'll notice they charge you 4-5 dollars extra. Why is the total higher than what is advertised for takeout? It should be cost of food + sales tax. On top of that, they don't supply you with an itemized receipt so there's definitely something shady going on. If you order delivery through them they advertise free delivery, but the cost will be more on the 5-6 dollar range higher than what it should be. I don't know what the legality of this is but everyone as a potential customer should be aware of this scam that they pull. read more

Not sure if this place is still open anymore. They were open 7 days a week but since the covid-19 pandemic, their hours may have changed. Tried to place an order on a Monday when most other Chinese restaurants are closed, but they didn't answer the phone. No way to know when or if they are open now unless I go there , and since I have no car that's not possible. read more

I just called in my order that I usually get, and forgot to mention no egg in my fried rice-I showed up to pick it up, and she (the owner ) said: I recognized your order and I didn't put any egg! The best take-out American Chinese food in the area. The prices are also very competitive. Some of my favorites are the fried dumplings, dim sum, and lo mein. This food suits my pallet so well that I was willing to drive 30 minutes just to get some when in the mood while they were five or more others that serve the same menu closer. Their lunch specials are very well priced and there's a lot of food. I'm sure you'll have leftovers (as always). I've been visiting Golden House for about 15 years now. In high school, I would get the lunch specials, in college I would pick up food for the whole group so I could get their deal of free soup or egg rolls for orders over $20. The family that runs it are always smiling, always nice. I have seen their daughter grow from a baby to now taking orders on the phone. It makes me happy that there's still a small business like this that has been around this long, serving great food, and ready in "15 minutes." read more

This was our first time getting delivery from here. When we got it the food was still nice and hot. You don't always find that in places that deliver. Thanks to other yelpers I had to try the egg rolls. I got the pork ones and they were crispy just how I like them. Great flavor too. The pork fried rice was out of this world full of chunks of pork and veggies. I'm sure this will be in my favorites list. read more

Food is tasty however is NEVER ready on time for lunch. Don't answer the phone prior to a couple minutes after 11am when it seems they turn everything on. Online orders don't speed up the process at all. Told 10 mins, 17 minutes later it's good to go. Don't stop if you're in a hurry for lunch. read more

this place absolutely sucks! the delivery driver refused to give me my change! they send the delivery driver back and he gave himself a $2 tip rather than return the $4. i work for an agency that we need that money back. do not order from this place if you do not want to get all of your change back and have the driver give himself a tip. read more

My roommates and I discovered Golden House while we were in college. We would order every Sunday and looked forward to it all week! The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious!
