    A11. Red Chili Wonton
    Addy B.

The red chili wontons were great. The red chili oil adds a great amount of heat. The booths there are spacious and we noticed a number of people picking up food for takeout. As soon as the server walked over my partners Biang Biang noodles we could smell the spice and garlic. It's delicious. I tried multiple bites and got a pang of jealously that I didn't order them for myself. The misses- the steamed dumplings were a bit gummy and the bubble tea I got was too sweet. However, don't write off a A Taste of Xian, next time I want to try the burgers and get an order of the Biang Biang noodles for myself.

    N14. Braised Beef Noodle Soup

Had the flu for a few days and I was craving soup. This is by far the most AMAZING beef braised soup I've ever had. They allow you to pick your level of spice, and me being me, picked hot. I can tell you now, if you want to clear your sinuses, this is it! Ask for HOT and you'll def get it! The meat was so beyond tender, literally melts in your mouth, and the broth? Phenomenal! So rich, so hearty full of flavor! The noodles were cooked to perfection as well! But the best part was definitely the broth! Also it's not pictured, but I also got the mango bubble tea-- fantastic! Doesn't taste like the artificial mango flavor, in fact it tastes like they hand squeezed it into a cup! 15/10 would recommend! P.s the pork buns are out of this world!

Ordered a while back for take out and loved the dumplings and Biang Biang Noodles. Went in to explore the extensive menu a bit more. Found out that everything is made there including the dumplings and many of their noodle selections. Couldn't get the signature noodles because they were still making them. We did get there right after they opened. Not mad about that. Will go back later in the day next time. The pork burger was delicious - the roast pork was perfect and the bun offered nice texture. The dumplings were even better fresh (not take out)- thin wrapper and crispy fry, very tasty pork filling. The chili wontons were amazing. That sauce belongs on damn near everything! I was worried they'd be overly spicy, but they weren't, though I do like spicy things. So if you like spicy/flavorful they're bomb. If you like spicy for the sport of spice they won't blow your skirt up. The Biang Biang noodles were better than remembered - wide noodles with a nice chew coated in SO much garlic and enough spice at the end to keep things interesting. The waitress recommended the Dan Dan noodles as the signature noodles weren't ready yet. They were good, but I look forward to a less "safe" option next time. Not her fault, she didn't know us. It was a solid, tasty suggestion. The hot black tea was served in giant steins with loose black tea leaves steeping in the bottom. It was delightful in it's presentation and I loved that wrapping my hands around the mug warmed me on a chilly afternoon!

Food is typically bland, the gravys seem to be very watery, not just in texture but to be honest in flavor as well.

We ordered three dishes and the only thing I like is the lamb burger. Their noodles is over cooked but the taste was alright.

Upon entering, the girl behind the counter just stared at us. No greeting. No direction on where to sit. No smile. We assumed it was self seating so we found a booth. She came over, poured our waters, still said nothing. We had about 45 mins until the restaurant closed so I'm unsure of what the cold attitude was for, as there were still 4-5 other patrons there eating as well. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the veggie dumplings, and I had the same but with meat. Once the plates arrived, the one set in front of me was green, and his not. I figured I would double check to make sure we had the correct ones - I didn't want him to end up eating the meat ones if it could be avoided. Sure enough, the plates were mixed up. Honestly seemed to be done purposefully because it's very clear they are 2 different orders. The texture was chewy/foamy and they also tasted like old grease. Disappointing but we still had soups to look forward to. Our ramen finally arrived and I was hoping it would be the redemption moment of the evening but it wasn't. It really lacked any depth of flavor. Again the meat was chewy instead of tender. More distracting was how we awkwardly felt rushed as the server was shutting off lights and music...again...with at least 15 mins until the kitchen closing time. She seemed annoyed we asked for to go containers. At no point did she check in with us, refill waters, or even crack any resemblance of a smile. I used to love this little spot when I was in college. It was cozy, delicious, inviting. Couldn't have had more of the opposite experience this time around! And for this reason I would not return. I will travel to Colonie for Kuma Ani for better food and MUCH better service. TLDR; this place is extremely overrated

We were there for lunch on a weekend and it was not busy at all. Looks to be a family run business. Service was good with only the lady and her daughter working the front. We ordered the Thai tea and it was a bit too sweet. The Tom Yum noodle soup was good but also a bit on the sweet side compared to what I've had in other restaurants. But I do like it though. Tastes more like the Vietnamese version. The chicken curry puffs were good with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. Though a bit pricey with only 3 puffs for $8. Also curry flavor could have been a bit stronger. We will have to go back to try more off their menu. We would have liked to order the Mango and sticky rice dessert too but we were too full this time.

My aunt wanted me to take her to a Thai restaurant that I had taken her once in Latham NY. I told her I've found a better spot, let's go and there we were. This time we ordered a couple of items from The specials menu which included khao soi and wings to go with cherry chicken, padhai and butterfly shrimp. I would probably say this is my new go to thai spot In the capital region. They have amazing deals on the lunch specials and the food tasted better than the deals. Few tips, you can never see the specials board, but it's near the cash register. Service may be a little slower when it gets busy as there's only one person that's managing upfront. I have been satisfied with the food, service and ambience.

We were given hot tea, water, crunchy noodles and dipping sauces to start. The lunch menu had a variety of choices, including vegan. I ordered a starter of Char Sui. For main entree platters, my mom ordered the pan fried tofu dish while I ordered the cod filet with Thai eggplant. I paid for a different side, thin rice noodles, since I didn't want the rice that came with the platter. Finished our meal with a pistachio layer cake and hand dripped coffee. Everything was enjoyable; well balanced and deliciously seasoned. A wonderful variety of Asian flavors in more traditional dishes. It is ornate, and brought me emotionally back in time. The service is more like the 70s and 80s, before food service became a rush for quick turnover. Great service, great food and the vibe was what I had always imagined it would be from driving by.

Then came the pineapple fried rice with pork belly. Savory, caramelized pork belly met bright bursts of pineapple in a perfect sweet-salt balance. Fluffy rice studded with peas, carrots, and ribbons of egg. My three year old son dove in without hesitation, happily scooping forkfuls of rice and pineapple like he had discovered treasure. No negotiations. Just joy. Fifteen minutes later, box in hand, the real event began. Across melting ice. A sharp jaywalk. A cut through the gas station. A full sprint toward the train station as the gates threatened to close and my family waited. It was an unofficial, record-breaking mile fueled entirely by fried rice ambition. Once the cold air finally left my lungs, I cracked open the box. Steam rose into the winter air. The smell alone was victory. I ate every last grain on that train, a triumphant feast earned the hard way. My wife was not impressed with how close I cut it. I, however, stand by the decision. Some meals are worth the sprint.

A tea leaf salad or Lat phat thoat has "Crispy pea, peanut, sesame seed and garlic oil with ground pickle tea leaf, cabbage and tomato." It was a little funky, a bit like kimchi, with a wonderful textural crunch provided by the peanuts. Palata (deep fried layered & flattened dough), commonly served at street food stalls, is reminiscent of scallion pancakes (without the scallion). In this case, it was served with a chicken, potato, and dahl stew. The saltiness of the stew was tamed by the layered and fatty dough. I might skip the chicken dumplings because those were boiled from frozen, store bought items. The pandan dessert, similar to a bubble tea, was an added extra. I'd definitely go again.
