This is a very good spot for Korean food in Springfield. The seafood pancake was very well done--crispy, flavorful, and one of the highlights of our meal. We also really enjoyed the galbi, which was well-seasoned, tender, and served in a generous portion. The japchae and spicy pork bulgogi were both good, though not the best we've ever had. Still, they were enjoyable and complemented the meal nicely. Limited drink selections. The atmosphere was very laid-back and comfortable, and the customer service was excellent. We especially appreciated how frequently the staff checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. This place is incredible. I came here mainly because I saw the great reviews on yelp. I didn't know what to expect when coming here as far as the side dishes and all that. Traditional Korean restaurants serve many small side dishes to be shared throughout the meal with whoever you're eating with. Well, I was by myself in this case, and I still received the full 10 side dishes that come with most entrees. The waitress explained things for me, and she was very helpful. I ordered the dolsot bibimbap which was incredible. I really enjoyed the bibimbap. I tried all of the side dishes and only liked about half of them, which is what I expected. Some things were too spicy for me, but that's no fault of the restaurant by any means. I probably spent like $12 or so before tip and I took leftovers home. Moral of the story: you must try this place! It is so worth it. read more

When we pulled up to the parking lot, it was in a run down plaza, thinking this place is going to have some bomb Korean food (hole-in-the-wall type of establishment). We walked in, was immediately greeted, sat, and got our drink orders. We decided to finally order the dolsot spicy squid (hot stone) and the beef bulgogi lunch special with some spice to it. Literally the service was great and there was nothing the server couldn't have done to make the experience better. However, the food was just average. I was slightly disappointed due to pretty awesome reviews. The beef bulgogi just didn't taste like how it's suppose to- idk if they just made it more Americanized? The squid just tasted like gochu jang which is one of the ingredients to making it. I'm not saying the food was horrible but it wasn't good enough for me to go back again. I was on my way to Soo's Korean Restaurant the other day when I decided to stop by Binh Tay Oriental Market for some treats. Well, I got sidetracked from Soo's cause right there next to the Oriental Market, is Golden Korean Restaurant. Since I eventually want to try all of the Asian joints in town anyway, we just stopped into Golden instead of continuing onto Soo's. The outside does look a lil questionable but once inside, you are greeted by a large, clean, well decorated restaurant. The waitress was very polite and thorough. My nephew ordered their Cashew Chicken (3.99), fried rice and eggroll dish (haha - of course) and I opted or the Bulgogi (8.95) and Bi Bim Bap (8.95). (I knew I couldn't eat it all but when testing a Korean joint... meh, I like left-overs.) I was impressed when they brought out several of the traditional Korean salad dishes. They were all tasty and their kim chi was Very hot! My nephew even liked 3 of the 5 dishes, and his cashew chicken. My bulgogi and the bi bim bap were pretty good, especially for Springfield. The bulgogi was better than the bi bim bap though for the west coast, it would be a lil too 'teriyaki sweet' for actual bulgogi. It was still good but, I think they've tried to appeal to the Midwestern palate. I would definitely order the Bulgogi again, but probably not order the Bim Bi Bap. I'm so glad my family stopped by here. My family is from SoCal and we had been staying in Missouri for a few days. After constantly eating American food we were feeling homesick and wanted some Korean food. We decided to stop here for lunch, unsure if this place would satisfy. It was so good. The ban chan is great, we scarfed down the first batch in less than 3 minutes after it was served. We ordered soondubu, spicy chicken, yuk gae jang, and kimchi jiggae and all of them were just as good as the Korean food back in Orange County. We ordered take out for dinner on New Years Eve and our food was ready right when they said it would be and their COVID-19 pick up was well thought out and organized. I wanted to like this restaurant. But really overpriced and not worth the $80+ we spent. Jambong was not the right taste, flavors were wrong and watered down. The seafood was a mix of that frozen mixed squid octopus shrimp mussel clam package with a couple larger mussels and two larger shrimps. Tempura udon didn't taste right either Shrimp fried rice was alright but to much salt Bulgogi was good I'll give them that Banchan lacked salt and flavor Our Waitress was really nice but I placed an order to go at the beginning of our meal and didn't get it till 20 min after we paid. The restaurant wasn't busy so she didn't put that in till after we paid. Bathrooms were locked and all 4 other customers were at their table... overall we won't be back. My Husband and I relocated to Missouri from Memphis, Tn. We drive one hour and fifteen minutes to eat at our favorite restaurant. This restaurant has Amazing Food with Amazing service. My Husband is not a foodie like myself, but after talking him in to trying something different... it ended up being his favorite restaurant as well as my own. You can tell they take pride in their food preparation. During our visit, we're always given the BanChan side dishes, but this time we didn't receive a salad. Boy is this the best Korean restaurant in town. Upon first appearance it looks to be a slightly outdated maybe even sketchy restaurant with only one server but looks can be deceiving. I try and eat here as much as possible because everything on the menu is so tasty!!! My all time favorite dish is the steamed garlic pork belly or one of their many soups. On top of this yummy entree an amazing appetizer is the vegetable pajeon which may seem a little pricy (as most of the menu kinda is) but it is totally worth the money because you will always leave full and happy. Also most meals come with the Korean side dishes or banchan. This may seem like a small detail but the side dishes here are much better than any of the other Korean restaurants in Springfield!!!! First time visitor and I have to preface this review with the following, I am a pretty big lover of all food things Asian, well for the most part. As much as I love Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese, the flavors of Korea continue to be a stretch for me. With that said.... the beef bulgogi was pretty good but just a little on the dry side. I like mine with a little more moisture. The meat was very flavorful and also crazy tender. The pork belly with kimchee and tofu was also pretty tasty with a nice size helping of sliced pork belly. The mandu were a little small and not as tasty as others I have had in the past. We enjoyed most of the banchan although a couple of them we couldn't come close to identifying completely. While Korean food will never be my go to favorite, this is very authentic and an great departure from the typical Asian offerings. read more

We were hopeful after looking at online menu. We arrived at 2:00 and were told the 11-2 lunch menu was not available to us. The entire menu had changed. Waitress was borderline rude. Prices went way up from online menu and many item no longer available. Traditional Korean side dishes were sparse and limited. Ordered teriyaki chicken which was a mistake. Chicken was cold, hats and mealy. Better teriyaki to be had from the Walmart feeezer section. Will not be back. Very disappointed. read more
