I came in and the breakfast smelled delicious! I got a small order of ackee and salt fish with plantain and fried dumplings! I mentioned I was low in iron and she recommend the calloloo and it was absolutely delicious! So flavorful and I heard it has way more nutrients than spinach! It was a delicious bite! I visited a few weeks ago. I'm in search of finding good authentic Jamaican food. This spot did not disappoint. It was a long line, but that was expected, that's just how good Jamaican spots be. The line did move quickly however so that was great. I dropped in during lunch and grabs a few plates. They give a good portion of everything. I ordered the curry goat, jerk chicken, rice and peas and a few patties. Everything was good. The goat was nice and spicy like I like. I could see it being too spicy for some. The food- I ordered the curry goat with rice and peas with cabbage. Now, the food isn't terrible but it isn't the best. The goat was a little bland and more pieces of bones rather than goat. This used to be my go to for Jamaican but they have gone downhill on taste and execution. The only thing they have going now it it's the cheapest in my area. Jamaican food is a labor of love. If I want cheap i can make it myself. Admittedly when I ordered the lunch special I was experimenting "lunch size" but they were full size. The curry and brown stew are always cheap so only a dollar less. I also ordered the jerk chicken which was a little more expensive so came at a good deal at the lunch special price. This was no jerk chicken at all. It was a stew with some jerk sauce. If I didn't have the brown stew to compare I would have thought they had given me brown stew in error. Also ordered the curry goat which was also a better deal and they just didn't send it. This isn't the first time I had something left off but thought it was a fluke. Both times Uber refunded me for the missing item. Will no longer be ordering. I would rather pay a little more for quality. So in conclusion you get what you pay for which is quantity. Quality is extra. A promotion would be offering quality at regular quantity to gain customer. Well lost this one. read more

I went in, there were about 4 ladies working the front. They were quick and efficient. I really liked their attentiveness to the guests. I ordered a small oxtail with rice and peas. When I tell you she was NOT stingy. She packed those oxtails on my plate and I was quite surprised by that. I definitely got my monies worth as I ate on it for 3 days. Each day it got better and better. I was sad when I ran out. The restaurant itself is nothing really to look at. It was clean and lit. I would say it isn't a place you sit and eat. The rice and beans tasted strongly of coconut. The veggies on the side were good. There were two plantains on the side. They were dry. The serving size wasn't great. The food is very good. It is one of the closest that you can come to the authentic Jamaican food. However, the customer service is crappy. Today was my first time back in this store for a very long time (& this is comming from at least 4 visits per week for lunch, not snacks) and the manager reminded me of why I had stopped shopping there. They are rude to customers, unwilling to satisfy the customers (especially if they are not Caucasian), you're charged extra or things that you pay for are not included in the bag when you get to your destination. I watched them cut a breast in 2 for a meal & told the customer after she inquired that it is too much to give her.....(& this was what the customer paid for). I ordered a small fried chicken w/ rice peas and veg with oxtail gravy. Every item on the plate was ridiculously spicy like the scotch bonnet bursted in the rice while it was cooking. This place is hit or miss I had the oxtails rice an peas cabbage plantain and if I'm willing to pay top dollar i just wished i was wowed by it my oxtail were still tuff i get they overload with rice and the others but i had the look just not the texture or the taste . I went in to make a purchase and one of the cashiers had her mask beneath her nose. A customer came in without a mask. I asked the cashier if masks are required. She looked at me and paused and then stated that she is not going to argue with anyone she will serve them and let them get out. It's not about arguing it's about standards and expectations. This restaurant is placed in a not so safe neighborhood/shopping center where before you can barely get out of your car you will be approached by people trying to sell you stuff or beg for money.
