I used to stop by here quite often when I lived in the area. The location isn't in the best of areas. If you need authentic Jamaican food this is your spot. My favorite meal from here is jerk chicken with rice and beans. It comes with cabbage and plantains. The spice that you get from the jerk seasoning is perfect. It's spicy but has that tasty spice going for it. The lady that served me is good people. You can see she takes pride in their food and service. They have an assortment of Jamaican juices and sodas in their fridges as well as some of the most flakey full of meat patties. Don't try to eat a beef patty in your car trust me it will be all over the place that's how flakey they are. I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant on Main Street for many years now-And I told the friendly and professional staff to "Watch Out" 'cause I got many years worth of praise and 'happy belly' times to sing about! Delicious, freshly cooked and prepared food and fixin's -and the portions are on the money! They have other great choices as well, like, Stew Chicken, Curry Chicken and Curry Goats, and many more. My mom love the soups from there, but my favorite is the Jerk Chicken. The staff depending on who is working is nice, some are not so nice. I usually pick up either some patties or platters from here. The last time I was there I ordered oxtails, rice peas and veggies. I remember thinking "dam the prices have gone extremely up". I get home and I try to bite into one of 4 pieces of oxtails (now I am thinking, only 4 pieces?!) and it was so hard. So I tried the rest of the oxtails all the same. I was very disappointed. Since I usually buy there, I called and was very nice and said "I can't bite into these oxtails, they are extremely hard can I go and exchange my meal. I paid over $23 for my meal and drink". The woman was very rude and said no refunds! I don't want a refund just a meal I could actually eat. Hung up. So at some other time I would have said they are a quick semi fix for some Jamaican food, now I would definitely say drive the extra half mile. Pat's Kitchen and Sylvia's is a little further but at least you could bite into the oxtails. read more

The Jerk Chicken was just the way I like to have it, fresh and spicy hot. However, on a subsequent visit I bought barbecue Jerk Wings and that was a total waste of money. The wings were very hard, which was suggestive that they had been there probably for a few days and that they were overly microwaved. I ended up throwing the food away after I tested each of the six wings I was given.
